So much has changed since the humble beginnings of my lawn care journey way back at our small property miles away from where we are now. Along the way, a few have asked if I could show a glimpse of what I do on a spring day in the lawn and what needs to be accomplished to maintain all of this grass insanity I have going on? Well...here's a bit of one day in the life. More About Exmark - www.exmark.com/ - My Website - www.ryanknorrlawncare.com
Hoping you keep up the awesome videos! Talking about the lack of rain, would love for you to incorporate more low irrigation / drought resistant grass varieties into your plots just to show how good (or not) they are with minimal water usage.
I have to say Ryan, 99% of the time I’m watching your vids on my iPad with cheap earbuds, but the other day I was on my computer thats hooked up to an amp and real speakers , I know before you talked about your interest in music, but i actually just realized how good your choice of music for your vids is, I was like jamming out to Ryan knorr lawncare videos
Trying to”limited use” of tea seed meal to attack the jumping worm issue. I was told never use near water source. Put it down 12 lbs per 1000 and the worms will be all over for pick up. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Hey Ryan, can you post a link to that sprinkler? I don't have irrigation and need something that I don't have to move around so much and covers a large portion of my yard. I know you have done one in the past but a homemade irrigation video would be great again also.
Hoping the birds don’t eat all my Black Beauty this year. This time I rented a core aerator, ran it both directions so hoping the seed will take better.
Those Lazer Z x series are the same mowers we buy at Yellowstone Landscape, good mowers, usually get about 2500 hours out of them, they are made to run all day, definitely a pro machine. That thing will probably last you a very very long time.
Any more thoughts on adding onto irrigation system?? Pump house at well? Pressure tank? Water to garden or other side of property this year?? Another great video and music!!!
Hello Ryan, hopefully my comment doesn’t get overseen. On regards to your commment on not seeing any germination yet! Have you tried soaking your seed in water to get a faster germination? There are a few videos out there. I had germination in 8 days for the KBG. I had it in a wheel barrow with saw dust. I did not had it in a busker of water like others have done. Two days ago I gave it a go to sumerge it. Will see when we get germination. Thanks
It's just colder soil temp but I saw germination that night. Typically when I'm seeding in warmer times I can get 3-5 days on rye and 6-8 on blue without any pre geminating
Believe it or not most areas haven't had anything applied other than fertilizer. The pre emergent I have only used on a few areas but thick healthy grass takes care of a lot on its own
I have the same exmark. Did the striping roller make a big difference? I've been debating on getting a roller, but even without, I think it stripes pretty good. Thanks!
Ryan, I am a high school baseball coach and I’ve done a lot of research and found you and the seed you endorse. I am in the San Fernando valley in Los Angeles county. I need a recommendation for the infield. Kentucky bluegrass or perennial rye. Please let me know…
Hey Ryan! Should i dethatch a lawn i started last year with your fescue blend? I made the mistake of using straw to cover the seed and now i am dealing with a lot of odd grasses growing. I am killing them off now getting ready to over-seed when the temps go up a little. Cheers from Chicago.
Hi Ryan, I'm new to the lawn care community and you are one of the two channels I'm taking advice from. I do have a question. Laying new tall fescue seed with Scott's triple action for new lawn with misotrione at the same time. Can I or should I apply milogranite at the same time for stronger root development since I'm spring seeding in California?
@ryanknorrlawncare thanks Ryan. I just aerated, grass had a tough winter, patches, crab grass etc.....more important to over seed now? Or fertilize? Or both? I live on the Westcoast (Vancouver bc)
If you have any big projects coming up and you need some free labor I can throw Winston the Westie in the truck and be there before breakfast 🍳 we’d be happy to hang out with your gang. Maybe let me drive the Ventrac? Wink wink nudge 😂
It’s definitely just a rain thing for y’all Ryan. I’m up here in southern Michigan and I’ve been mowing since the last week of march 2 times a week grass is going nuts alr. We’re about a month ahead of the norm schedule tho dandelions are alr in full bloom rn so are a lot of the spring trees
How's the sound on the exmark? I noticed it has an automotive style muffler on it. I imagine with electric motors gaining traction, the commercial market will start seeing demand for quieter equipment in residential applications.

Always enjoy your videos. Get some great lawn tips from you. Thanks Ryan!
Good to see you back regularly. Always enjoy your videos even if they’re not just lawn care
Ryan’s a true night owl 🦉
Yes I always have been 😀
The swing looks good 🏌️♂️
Already laying down some stripes! It looks great!
Ryan once again.u killed it! Cinematic footage u become a king ❤
Can’t wait for more coming videos of the season

I have 6 non irrigated ones that all did well last year when we had no rain for 5 weeks. I can show them again soon
Thanks for the behind the scenes peek.
Ryan brought us Iowans all the rain from this video
Very cool hard work pays off!!
Hope you were blessed with this last inch+ of rain we got in Ankeny 🙌🏼 looks like we have a good amount of rain in the forecast as well 🤞🏼
.4" for me 👎

It would be even better if he said he made all the music haha
@@shaylaswanson1114you saw much time I have in a day haha

Editing chops are really coming along.
I like how Ryan built his own Turf ranch so he could be his own Turf management client
Love the Twins hat, Ryan!

I bought it from Big Sprinkler - Which one to get will depend on your water gpm and pressure so you may need to contact them for the best option

👍🌱 the best content out here the RK way!🍻

Working on something for the big field. We have irrigation back to the garden already actually so that has been good
love it
I just ordered my Prodiamine today. Same place as you.
Looking good
Bet you got some rain last night(Wednesday into Thurs morning). I drive from kc to Desmoines nightly and got poured on the whole way back.
I haven't checked the gauge yet but it was at least something!

Always jealous of the chemicals you have access in USA. It certainly helps to have these clean look. ❤

Love the content. Any suggestions/recs for suppressing or containing Poa Triv? Seems to be a big issue so far this season. Any help is appreciated!
None that I know of other than killing the spots and reseed
Sorry! 2:54 - Yah my home made milo project not going well - apologies!
In a perfect world, when would be the ideal time to put down my spring fertilizer for cool season grass specifically your Elite PRG?
Just after the huge flush of growth. You'll get a sense of when it's slowing down before summer and that's when to hit it
What’s the sprinkler called??
You still have your Challenger? Good video!
Yes I do. Probably sees about 200 miles a year haha
I have the same exmark. Did the striping roller make a big difference? I've been debating on getting a roller, but even without, I think it stripes pretty good. Thanks!
I'll know more once everything is fully greened up

Shouldn't need to dethatch this soon.

You won't need it if you're doing the Scott's. You could use it later if needed but just don't go too crazy with it as it has high phosphorus.
@@ryanknorrlawncare Thank you Ryan. I really appreciate your feedback and all your informational videos!
For the first split second I thought that was Adam's song by blink 182 lol
you need a bigger zero turn. that 60" deck isn't cutting out for that large field.. lol
Only takes about 30 minutes
#perfectday
Why do I not remember the EXMARK????
How often are you dethatching?
Rarely
@ryanknorrlawncare thanks Ryan. I just aerated, grass had a tough winter, patches, crab grass etc.....more important to over seed now? Or fertilize? Or both? I live on the Westcoast (Vancouver bc)
Can you get that exmark with reels?
No reels for this
Doesn't the ventrac mow just as nice as the zero turn
I have an old used mower deck for the ventrac and it's a bit past its prime so this is definitely better.
Ryan where's your vegetable garden.?
The one drone shot behind the building shows it

Nice choice.....the milwaukee mower. Never know which one you will mow with next.
Top notch, I appreciate your simple lifestyle and how down to earth you are despite a growing channel and internet presence
Ryan - always fun to see what's happening at Westberry. Everyone in the upper Midwest is fingers crossed for more moisture this Spring/Summer!
Are you watering at night???

It hasn't seemed louder or quieter than what I'm used to I guess
We need a RK step counter at the bottom of the screen and a tick counter for the season🤣
Ooof...this week I had a couple days at just over 22,000
@@ryanknorrlawncare that’s a busy day
