Loved the series. As you have stated multiple times, they are all great machines and it comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. Thank you so much Pete for putting so much time and effort into this.
Pete i know your time is valuable but I hope you never give up videos your the reason I got into taking care of my lawn and I enjoy every video you put out I come from a rough up bringing aswell been addicted to alcohol and multiple drugs been clean 5 yrs you inspire me to not only make the neibors jealous of my grass but to just be a better person I hope all the best for you and your family man
Pete, I have the bobcat mower and agree with you. I am not a huge fan of the safety in the drive lever. They did it that way however so that the mower can be used as a walk behind also is my understanding
spartan mower in the top 6 over a toro/exmark blows my mind. I figured cut quality alone would get the toro/exmark in the top 6. Thanks for all the information in these great videos.
I think I’m done pretending that I am getting a Wright LG over a Z2 > Z3 upgrade. I just can’t risk the avoidable wear and tear on my 19,537.5 day old body.
Awesome stuff, Pete! The highlight of this entire series for me is...the COMPETITION. When you have this many quality competitors in one field, the consumer ALWAYS wins. One of the biggest issues in this country right now is price controls. When there's only 2 or 3 players controlling entire industries, consumers don't have choices, and we lose. This series makes me extremely proud of the current competitive state of the landscape equipment industry in this country. Keep at it manufacturers! 🇺🇲
Pete, I am excited to hear that the Hustler Super S made your top 6. The fact that you were impressed with the cut and the quality of the steering reaffirms what Hustler is all about. I also wanted to thank you for being incredibly kind when I picked up and dropped off the mower. Regardless of which mower you end up going with, I want to thank you for giving Hustler a shot, and wish you the best in the future!
Dealer support is, to me, the most important factor when purchasing and equipment. I was surprised by your top six. I know that it's all personal preference and interpretation though. That said, there's two on your list that i absolutely would not own (I've used both and owned one brand for a decade plus) and there were two that i was certain would be on your list that were absent. I haven't watched all of the individual reviews yet but i know that one then will get dinged for lower HP than you like and for it's safety switch being located in the handle. That said, I've never had an issue with it not performing well in the tallest and wettest St Augustine grass and in tall, thick blue grass and fescue. The cut quality is always good, however, it does not stripe well but that is easy to remedy with a little ingenuity Thanks again for doing this
I've been researching to buy a mower for my 5 acres. Regarding the keypad start, I've learned that if a keyed unit fails, it costs about $20 in parts, whereas the keypad unit's parts cost $200. And during COVID-19, the keypads were impossible to find.
Great stuff Pete. I love Ferris. Two things that suck for me is lack of dealership. Then the rebuild sucks for getting parts. This video helps a lot. I need to get out and put some to the test.
I know it's all personal preference but the safety being in the hand controls is is a must for me cause I like to be able to get off and walk from time to time
Which one of these had the widest platform ? I’m a big guy here I like my creature comforts, I really appreciate the amount of work you put into each one of these videos
Something to consider is the amount of problems with the machines, dealer support in an area as well as the other things you have mentioned. Since you run wright zk's you know the issues, if any that you have had with them. For me, we have 4 in our fleet with zero issues in 5 years. I will stay with wright until they fail.
I have had zero problems with the oil filter on Wright zks. I moved the trash can all the way forward. Problem solved. I jack it up from the back and slide the oil pan underneath then lower it down. Or use a 9x13 pan from my wife’s kitchen.
None of those mowers offer an integrated bagging system. I think Toro which we run and Scag are the only ones that offer such a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Toro came up with a suspension system for the next model.
Is Ferris having distribution problems? Here in NE the dealer said they were not able to get many mowers or parts. Is the Stihl mower a rebranded Ferris???
Great video Pete but this one almost gave me a heart attack. I had to turn the volume up so loud to hear you, then when you started a mower or when your music played at the end it just about blew my out of my chair it was so loud. But after recovering from that, great content here!
It would have been cool to go back thru the whole group backwards. The first few were “virgins”. After sampling them all, would have been cool to go backwards to see if the thoughts have changed as you did that.
Great video series. Thank you for putting in all of the time & effort. I hope the videos get the views they deserve. Do you think any of your generalized findings for these brands would carry over to their ride-on ZTR models? I'm very intrigued by the Ferris and Spartan mowers.
@@clevercloverlawncare5066 Our ferris Z3x deck lift is harder to get up than our V ride 2s and also the plastic/ Rubber handle started to come off after about 1 season. Still both great mowers.
@@SouthernStyleLawnCare my Z2 is not that bad. I did notice that the Z3 felt a bit heavier to lift when I was on one last week. But the Scag was just way too heavy and awkward. Not to mention getting that pin in right was just absolutely tedious.
The intro and outro on this series is awesome! Green green grass, stripes, mower lineup, and old Glory- Pure Gold!
Old Glory flying.....
Loved the series. As you have stated multiple times, they are all great machines and it comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. Thank you so much Pete for putting so much time and effort into this.
Scag all day! Best mower I've ever owned
Ferris Z3X for the win! Best mower, period! It's in a league of it's own! Top dog!

Appreciate you bro! I'm not going anywhere!
Pete, I have the bobcat mower and agree with you. I am not a huge fan of the safety in the drive lever. They did it that way however so that the mower can be used as a walk behind also is my understanding
Thank you, Pete! I enjoyed this series and I am still trying to catch up on all the videos!
spartan mower in the top 6 over a toro/exmark blows my mind. I figured cut quality alone would get the toro/exmark in the top 6. Thanks for all the information in these great videos.
I like the ferris for all day every day riding
Yes

Yea they are amazing but an absolute pain to work on u have no room!
Awesome stuff, Pete!

This has been informative and very detailed orientated! Congrats on this!
Awesome series Pete! I would love to see a video on the mowers that didn’t make the top 6 and what your issues were with each.
Dang Pete you didn't like the toro grandstand or scag?? I love my grandstand it's a tank and beautiful cut, I do want a bobcat though 😆
I've been researching to buy a mower for my 5 acres. Regarding the keypad start, I've learned that if a keyed unit fails, it costs about $20 in parts, whereas the keypad unit's parts cost $200. And during COVID-19, the keypads were impossible to find.
Glad you made this video

Great series Pete!
I love my Ferris's but I wish they'd do better on the gas gage
Have both x3 and zk 37hp like em both but the x3 is extremely hard to work on .wright is really simple to work on

Great Video!!!

Pete, i know this video was done a while ago. What mower did you end up getting for the business?
Nothing yet. We gonna keep using our ZK’s this year and next winter sell them all and replace them
Pete I've been running Wrights for 16 years. The only thing I don’t like about it is its hard to get at the oil filter. Ed are you listening?
I have had zero problems with the oil filter on Wright zks. I moved the trash can all the way forward. Problem solved. I jack it up from the back and slide the oil pan underneath then lower it down. Or use a 9x13 pan from my wife’s kitchen.
@ehexzs10 I was talking about the stander x. They are bad.
I would like to know what’s the easiest to maintain and who has best warranty
Hustler is the best cut and hydros. Hard to beat.
None of those mowers offer an integrated bagging system. I think Toro which we run and Scag are the only ones that offer such a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Toro came up with a suspension system for the next model.
The wright ZK also has one
a seat was made for a purpose my pick is kubuta all the way 👌
Every tried encore? It’s like a cheaper Chinese exmark but they are great for the price.
Is Ferris having distribution problems? Here in NE the dealer said they were not able to get many mowers or parts. Is the Stihl mower a rebranded Ferris???
Was hoping someone out there might have some info on these. Looking at possibly replacing my h27i walker mower with a stander.
Would love to see torture and hill test but completely understand it takes absurd amounts of hours to do just 1 mower
Very very surprised to not see Scag, Toro & Exmark in this pack.
Great video Pete but this one almost gave me a heart attack. I had to turn the volume up so loud to hear you, then when you started a mower or when your music played at the end it just about blew my out of my chair it was so loud. But after recovering from that, great content here!
PetevI didn’t see you review a Scag. Did Scag not send a machine?
It would have been cool to go back thru the whole group backwards. The first few were “virgins”. After sampling them all, would have been cool to go backwards to see if the thoughts have changed as you did that.
Spartan over Scag and Toro or even Exmark is crazy. Would have put at least one of those in place of the Spartan.
I couldn't afford to buy a wheel for these things.... holy moly.. good to be rich I guess
No way not to be biased with the Wright
His opinion take a grandstand all day long
Pete where is the Kubota?
Same as bobcat. But the z781i is great in my experience so far.
Spartan over Exmark or Scag.... Something isn't adding up there.
Scag/Exmark over Spartan. Price or Quality?
No surprise there
Great video series. Thank you for putting in all of the time & effort. I hope the videos get the views they deserve.
Do you think any of your generalized findings for these brands would carry over to their ride-on ZTR models?
I'm very intrigued by the Ferris and Spartan mowers.
Scag fanboys in shambles
Haha.
I'm devastated 😢

First comment - woo hoo. 😂 - Great series Pete, really enjoyed it.

Great video scag not in the top 6 Pete come on man lol
Deck lift is terribly short. Killed my back. Would destroy it in a couple days. XL I believe they lengthened it. Big $.
@@clevercloverlawncare5066 Our ferris Z3x deck lift is harder to get up than our V ride 2s and also the plastic/ Rubber handle started to come off after about 1 season. Still both great mowers.
Too bad the scag deck lift is so heavy and the mower rides so rough!
