    Whenever I visit Baltimore and go to Camden Yards, I always look for the plaque where KG Jr hit the warehouse (only player to do so and the only time it ever happened) and I'm always amazed to see how far he hit that ball. Just unbelievable.

    I know Ken Griffey JR will never see this but I was thank you for inspiring me and making my childhood dream as a baseball player a dream to remember.. it took me 2 years to prefect your swing, stance etc and I gotta say I am 5'10 185lbs and with that swing I could do anything to that ball . My farthest HR was 435 feet.. in my eyes your the best player and most humble. Thank you for all the amazing memories threwout my LIFE

      @thickerconstrictor9037 5 років тому +5

      Haha never got busted. Between his size changing and his constant injuries theres a huge likelyhood he did. And even if he did who cares. Steroids don't make you hit. They don't make you hit him Homer's. They just take a guy who's already great and and a little bit of distance. Steroids saved baseball. Look how much baseball has fallen since the steroid era. You can say what you want but steroids made baseball more exciting. I mean the chase for the home run record? They are grown ass men let them take some fucking testosterone haha save baseball again cuz it's getting boring as fuck

    • @Schwedeballz
      @Schwedeballz 5 років тому

      green anaconda, suriname boa, Colombian boa size changing? He got fatter not more ripped like Bonds did. Also if steroids don’t help you hit then why take them?

    • @sethtate2079
      @sethtate2079 4 роки тому

      boa increased bat speed means more time to judge pitches. Also 10% more strength can turn a warning track fly to 5 rows back. If steroids didn't help what wasnt Barry bonds hitting 60 and 70 homeruns in his prime? Great hitter before steroids, 1st ballot HOF but after steroids he turned into the greatest ever.

    It kind of baffles me that the warehouse hasn't been hit several times throughout the years. It only 460 ft from home plate and in the past 27 years he's the only one who hit. It surprises me that Bonds, Giambi, Thome or other power hitters haven't hit it. Is there like a wind tunnel effect that stops homerun a from reaching it?

    • @nuttybuddy7928
      @nuttybuddy7928 3 роки тому

      It's not like Bonds got many chances to hit in Camden. If he played in Baltimore he'd probably have twice as many warehouse hits as he did McCovey Cove splash hits

    • @andrewb378
      @andrewb378 2 роки тому +5

      Since nobody has bothered to answer your question, yes. The way the stadium is designed creates a nasty crosswind right in front of the warehouse that just knocks balls down. The original intention was for balls to hit the warehouse and maybe break some windows. I guess falling glass was supposed to bring people to the ballpark. Instead, they accidentally built the whole thing to basically guarantee it wouldn't happen lol.

    • @CCPAFEL
      @CCPAFEL 2 роки тому

      There’s a video on UA-cam about it. So it’s only 460 from the plate; but the sidewalk for the warehouse is about 35 feet above the field level. So not only do you have to crush it, but you have to hit it really high as well

    • @mynameisgladiator1933
      @mynameisgladiator1933 Рік тому

    I was there and the ball did not hit the warehouse. It hit the floor at the base and bounced up and hit it and ricocheted off to me. I had my foot on it before being tackled by a crowd and the ball shot out. Another person I later found out was there also stated the exact same thing. People wanted to believe it so bad. All Star game. Camden Yards. But it did not hit the warehouse. Sorry to disappoint.
