I used retique it on my counter, did all the steps and put 3 coats of tripletique top coat on it. I sat a light weight plastic dish on it from the dish drain for about 5 minutes. Apparently the dish had a little water on the bottom because now their is a cloudy water mark in the shape of the dish. Why did this happen?
Varathane Premium Stain in Ebony pulled off quickly so it would only lightly stain the dressor. We used Bleached Wood on the base and Dark Wood as the grain.

What does it look like if you start with a dark base coat?
My liquid wood was entirely to thick could not get an even coat at all

Why do you need to do a coat of light first?
This gives you the rustic wood finish. You can use only one wood color for a more subtle grain. Take a look at our faq page at www.Retique.com/faq
Be nice if you guys provided info on how many sq feet your paint covers for a qt.

I am so angry....I worked a week to prepare my staircase and this garbage ruined it. It does NOT take the stain...the stain did not dry. I was left with a gummy mess.

It takes the stain just fine, you didn't do something right.
