Xenoblade 3 seems like it would be a perfect match for the channel for a live musical analysis type of playthrough especially considering how integral music is to the narrative with off-seeing and such. It also has one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful stories I personally have experienced in any medium whether that be games, books, or movies. Of course it has the caveats of being a 70-80 hour long JRPG with gameplay that suits a particular kind of taste and definitely isn't for everyone, I wouldn't blame anyone for being too intimidated to pick it up.
Starting off with XB3 Homecoming is an INCREDIBLE lead in. It is extremely difficult (not to mention spoiler intensive) to explain the context of this scene if you havent played the game, but it's one of the best uses of music to elevate a scene in a game ive seen. Just love it

So with the song from Fire Emblem Fates, Lost in Thought All Alone, there’s actually three variations of the song, the song of Birthright, the song of Conquest, and the song of Revaluations, each one reflecting their respective paths of the game, with only the Revaluations version gives the full picture. In universe it’s a powerful song that weakens and dispels evil (which is why the king is writhing around like a slug with salt on it). The version you listened to, the song of Conquest, heard in the path where you side with the black kingdom of Nohr and the family that raised you rather than your blood family. Sadly it’s not given much attention outside this cutscene, but the song effectively reflects the dark and difficult path you must walk, and the much more forceful tone the singer takes.
The selection of songs was awesome today. Btw, Marco, i totally agree on your takes during xenoblade's song, and that - hey, i'm italian, i gotta express my feelings made laugh harder than it should. Awesome, awesome episode! I'm sad i can't like it more than once!
It might sound hard to believe, but the moment where the Xenoblade 3 song plays in game, specifically at the climax of the music at 23:30, despite how utterly beautiful and intense it is to the point where you think it could take away from the game or not fit the moment, most people who are playing the game don't even notice it because of how big and captivating the scene is with the characters and story. Certainly is one of if not my favorite piece from the whole game, and it very rarely gets reacted to by someone who hasn't played the game because of the spoilers connected to it

Rainbow Color Inkantation is definitely throwing you into the deep end of splatoon music. I love that song but that love comes from having experienced everything splatoon right up till today

I really missed another Nikke track while I was at work, this is the worst noooooo 34:23 Mind Switches are effectively mental breakdowns from trauma in Nikke that often completely alter a Nikke’s mind and damages their memories. This has happened to Snow White I think the most recorded times of all Nikke iirc. Snow White: Innocent Days (Snow White from before her Mind Switches) is completely different from the modern day Snow White besides her love for food and absolute determination to eradicate the Raptures.

Watched a playthrough of Xenoblade 1 somewhen before the switch came out, played a lot of Xenoblade 2 and also bought Xenoblade 1 for the switch. Haven’t touched that yet since I want to forget more about it. Then someday in the future I’ll play all three back to back in chronological order.
