Saw all these tutorials that use all kinds of decal solvants and special little pots with glue combinations and you showed us that you don't need anything but hot water and thats it. Simple, clear, quick and still detailed. Thank you so much!
Ive been avoiding the waterslide decals in my model kits for ages cause of all these videos of people using solvents and sprays and stuff. Its amazing to know that its not hard at all and it only needs water. Thanks for the help!
Thats one of those things i dislike about the gunpla community, where they try to always seek for 'god hand' nippers, tamiya paint, solvents, glue etc etc, in my country those brands are quite difficult to get, so you have to be creative and try different methods to make your model kits look good, so this kind of videos are very helpful in my opinion'
I tried using water slide decals once and only used water. The next day all of the decals dried up and falling off of the model. You really should use the solvents
your tutorial is amazing only because you are doing it for the first time just like many of us watching this. hope your revs in the future will always stay as simple as these.
thanks for this... I'm so scared of putting waterslide decals coz it might ruin my gunplas,. and then I saw your tutorial and that inspired me a lot... thankyou..
I recently ordered some model kits and lost the waterslide decals because I didn't know how they work. This was really helpful. Thanks, man! You just earned a subscriber!
If only the waterslide for the Sazabi's eye wasn't so small, would've made my first ever time using waterslide decals actually possible. I was so close, and then it just tore in half
If anyone wanders it doesn’t matter what water you use hot or cold but if you use hot, make sure it’s not too hot I have a couple model kits that actually encourage you to use heat like a hair dryer on low heat make sure you keep it a distance from each other. You don’t want the plastic to melt or bend
So, I tried to put the eye cover on my MG Grandaddy 3.0, but it never set, it doesn’t stay on, and it left a weird little outline that goes into the red part of the face. If anyone knows how the heck this happens, even though it’s too late and I’ll probably just paint the eyes, I would love to know why. Thank you in advance because I’m too lazy to respond
Just build my Nu Ver Ka last week and not planning on doing the water decals... just too many of them. I might some day... but not now. Only doing the A from the shoulder and the shield
Beginner's Edge hey! Thanks for the response. I mean, the smell is tolerable it almost has no smell at all after it dries. Does it work tho? I've tried it a few hours back and I'm still having second thoughts if it works. Thoughts on this?
So do they stick by themselves and the you put something on top to ensure they stay on that’s where I’m confused I’ve seen tons a videos and they are all somewhat different
Yeah I wouldn't recommend that, I did it myself and it didn't go so well, the top coat is there to make sure the decal stays, the decal is supported by nothing when it dries without a top coat, and can come off easily and stick to you if you touch it
Always wondered how these work. They literally just slide off the paper it comes with. My brain is saying "that's not how stickers are" but my eyes are telling me "a whole new world" lol
Why did I do the same as you but after I left them on the table overnight, when I woke up, they almost fell off and were very brittle? (Everyone, please answer) 🙏
Jay jay Teves hg ang pinakamadali and pinaka mura , mg is mas malaki and mas detailed mas mahal , rg is kasing laki ng hg pero kasing detailed ng mg , almost parehas ng pricing ng mga base na mg ;) sana nakatulong ;)
Buti nakita ko tong video bumili ako ng MG at ung decals nya ay water slide kaya mejo nag alala ako kasi di ako sanay... Mas ok ako sa sticker decals.. Salamat sa tutorial.
Okayy.. But what happens if the decal you want to apply is microscopic? Like those red dots for Japanese planes for Tamiya battleships / aircraft carriers ? :)
New to gundams and started with the SD grades. Should I put the decals/stickers after building the part or when the whole gundam is finish? Kind of scared to buy a gundam that requires too much decals/stickers/water slides =[
What i do is just follow the manual , if it say to put the decal during the build I usually do , 90-95% of the decals are done after the build ;) in the end you have the option which decal you’re gonna use ;)
I watched an unboxing of a Figure-rise Standard figure I just ordered and the eyes aren't on any of the faces. I can't dodge the water slides on this one. Salamat po!
Even 7 years later, this is a super quick and simple tutorial while still being super informational! Thanks for the vid!
Exactly what I needed, thanks man. Saw some other tutorials that were >30 minutes long just to apply decals and was like naaah lol

Straight forward and to the point, unlike other videos that just goes on and on about things that's not even important.
This was perfect. Doing waterslides for the first time on the hunter falcon SNAA kit and it was exactly what I needed.
I'm so mad at myself for not seeing this sooner.
I've left the decals off most my models in fear of messing up, o o f.
never too late to learn for all of us :)

I was actually scared to apply water decals before seeing this. Thank you, I needed this
Feel you on this one, I panicked and was like "water decal wtf!?!?!?" Now I feel confident
Gonna be ordering some decals for my battletech miniatures soon. This video is a godsend.
I can't stand waterslides, but I'm gonna have to use them on one of my items. Oh well, here we go. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

This tutorial was amazing thank you!
7 years later and this video is my savation when building my sazabi ver ka
Any thoughts on water+vinegar as an alternative to mark softer? Salamat!
Not sure about it , i know where you’re coming with the acidic property of vinegar , but uncertain about the smell it is gonna leave
Beginner's Edge hey! Thanks for the response. I mean, the smell is tolerable it almost has no smell at all after it dries. Does it work tho? I've tried it a few hours back and I'm still having second thoughts if it works. Thoughts on this?
Awesome thanks for the video. So easy to understand now. 😊
Don't forget to add decal softener because that will fuse the decal to the plastic.
Nice tutorial. Represent.
Ty ;)

Crocodile Dundee ass, I’ve never seen such a big hobby knife lol thank you for the tips I just got my firs mg and I was freaking out about the decals
Can i use a pylox clear spray paint as a top coat over the water slide decals? Will it not ruin the decal?
I haven’t used pylox brand , but i put on testors flat and gloss coats on mine , and they didn’t ruin the decals
Thx for the guide dude, you're amazing 😁😁😁
Trying to customize football figures this was helpful
Is it okay if I don't top coat after applying the decals?
what white paint is that please??? its gorgeous.
Do you put clear nail polish on them?
Master, okay lang bang tubig lang wala ng softener or setter? Building Psycho Zaku right now. Thanks!
Yes , hindi rin ako gumamit ng softener or setter , we are on the same boat ;)
How durable is the decal afterwards??
Is it possible for me to just put on water slide and not top coating it and Cons that I might experience?
Yeah I wouldn't recommend that, I did it myself and it didn't go so well, the top coat is there to make sure the decal stays, the decal is supported by nothing when it dries without a top coat, and can come off easily and stick to you if you touch it

goodday po ask ko lang kung anong mas magandsng ibuild MG RG o HG ano bng pinagkaiba nilang tatlo and ano ang pinaka the best na grade sa kanila

Is topcoating not necessary after applying WSD?
Perfect tutorial. Just applied some decals to my 3rd party transformers. Thank you for making this!
This helped a lot, thanks!
THANKS FOR TUTORIAL MASTER BE 💗
Thx man helped alot i got the Mando model kit😅😆😆
Thank you for the informative video. Now I can put the decals on my MG Nu Ver Ka when I get it from Image Anime in New York City.
do i need to buy softer and setter for this? and also what if I'm going to top coat it after applying waterslide decals. thanks
Is there a way to use clear decal on a dark surface?
Ty so much i was in need of something that could help me with my A-10 glue set ans its stickers 👍
Once the decals is applied what do you use to protect the decals for any damages?
I put on top coats , can be flat or gloss ;)
@@beginnersedge4749 do you have a specific brand for the top coat?
Gerard Sotes i use testors brand
Great video, just a really rookie question though do you paint the piece and then do the panel lining?
i do the color coat first, then panel line then top coat (clear flat or gloss)
Buti nakita ko tong video bumili ako ng MG at ung decals nya ay water slide kaya mejo nag alala ako kasi di ako sanay... Mas ok ako sa sticker decals.. Salamat sa tutorial.
should u matt spray it first or water slide it directly before matt
Does RG Gundam comes with sticker and water slide decal?
Amerhuzairy100 usually sticker
Great video. Do i have to put a gloss coat before to put the decals or can i put it on bare plastic? Thanks
Thanks a lot! This will certainly come in handy.
RaptorTalon you’re welcome ;)
did you use mr marksetter?
No I didn’t ;)
Thx for the tutorial! It helps me how to apply a sticker on my Barbatos
