Having lost 2 older brothers, and 2 younger brothers, ( Twins) and Mom and Dad, I understand the pain of the word loss. As for Roy Orbison, the losses he faced, were surrounded by such tragedy. I am without a clue as to how this Man, one of the most gifted voices that has ever passed through my ears, could move on to the very next morning. To me, and until this morning, 10July,2019 @ 0638, there was not yet a way for me to declare my favorite song from Roy Orbison. When I heard Sweet Memories, all of the Roy Orbison songs came flooding back . I am 62.5 years old now,, so I have had a chance in life to live through the Hits from Roy Orbison as they were on their way up the charts. I have been blessed with hearing still in both ears. Sweet Memories has the ability to take anyone back in time, to moments of when our Cherished memories were created. Admittedly tears flowed today, I do not try to hold them back. Each tear drop is a memory all of its own. I would take any Roy Orbison song first to listen . Even at Christmas, we have Pretty Paper, pretty ribbons of blue... A special thanks to Everyone who made Roy and his music such a gift .

      I am 67 years old.
My memories of listening to Roy when we were kids is like a memory of one of my siblings. My Momma and Poppa had every vinyl. My brother and I would dance around our living room. Swinging, twirling, oh such a great thing to come across someone else that gets me. I've lost 2 Sons, 2 Brothers, (that I raised) within a 5 year span. Parents, Grandparents long gone.
      Yeah, lots and lots of memories. . . . . . . . .

My grandma passed away last month. She introduced me to Roy's great music when I was still a kid. We'd still listen to him later. Roy knew how it felt losing people you love most. This song while it also makes me sad is at the same time also comforting en recognisable. Roy is a true great, thank god for his music and the great bond it helped me create with the wonderful person that was my grandmother. Thank you sir.

Roy Orbison is a true ICON. This man, with his songs and lyrics touched a whole generation. I have had a long life, and in that time there was never an equal! He put his heart and soul into everything he did. His voice was like listening to an angel. Simply put, this is the finest performer of my generation. I was so pleased to see his songs being shared again, with the addition of a complete orchestra to compliment them. God Bless You Roy for all you gave to us before your passing. You may be gone, be you will never be forgotten. We are still in awe in 2019, and will continue to listen till we pass and join you. Thank you for sharing all of the beautiful photos with all of us.

Quando a última vez for sempre a primeira.
    É amor além da vida.
    José F. Leonard

After 22 months I can still see her laying next to me, talking to me, "Honey!" she will say, then I'll hear her snoring, breathing sofly, sometimes I imagine I hear her walking. I'm not sure if it bothers me or if I should wish it all goes away, I guess in time it will.

If you are impressed by Roys singing, and who isn’t, then watch an interview or two and feel how gentle and friendly he was. The other day I watched an interview from the beginning of his career and one of the last ones before he died - and he was the same. All that success didn’t change his kind nature at all. It’s just sad that someone like him should loose so many of his dearest and then leave this world far too early.

He wrote and recorded this at a very sad time of his life, after the loss of his first wife,Claudette, and then his two boys. So I was a lot surprised to see this video contain only pics of his second wife. His voice is still amazing, but the video seems disrespectful to his memories of why this song was written.

I think so too. I read an article and interviews of friends that he smoked and ate a lot of junk food, and to slim down for shows, he would basically starve himself. I think the eating disorder came from losing his wife and sons, and added to an already broken heart. He died way too soon.

Just my rarely humble opinion . . . Roy died from overwork; he was recording as Roy Orbison, as one of The Traveling Wilburys, and he was touring. PLUS, he preferred to not listen to his doctors, who insisted he slow down his pace. Roy had already undergone triple bypass surgery in the late 1970s. R.I.P.

I am sure that I am going to take some flack for this comment, but as great as Roy's rendition is, I have to say that Andy Williams' cover is smoother and more representative of the emotion elicited by this song. Dawn Sears also did an outstanding job with "Sweet Memories", and her daughter, Tess's presentation of it to honor her mother was heart rending.
