Who is still listening to Roy’s today in 2024
Iam ❤ Roy Orbison always rip 🙏
Pretty much everyday this was my grandads funeral song 4 months ago. This song will always hold a special place in my heart
Me 👍🏻
I'm 23 and absolutely obsessed with Roy Orbison. I just find it amazing that a voice like this once existed. I wish he were still here. He was incredible.
Grew up with Roy, the best!!
Me too! I was blessed enough to be around for his come back in the late 80s, but I was only a kid and didn't appreciate him as much as now!
Back those years ago, there were so many wonderful voices. I'm in my 70's now and listening to this takes me back to my youth.
Back in the days, when Elvis Presley was asked who's the best singer in the world, he said Roy Orbison :]
Elvis once said Roy Orbison was the real king of Rock n Roll.
My 95 year old dad died this afternoon and this song has is for him. I love you dad, sweet dreams xxx
I'm sorry, June. :( So hard to lose a parent. My mom went to see Jesus in January.
My dad blessed me on
This man's great voice.
My parents are sleeping with JESUS. I never stop missing them.
GOD BLESS YOU. SEEK HIS STRENGH AND PEACE. SHALOM
Sorry for your lost.
This is the best song ever thank you Mr Orbison RIP, I lost my loving son at age 32 and he is in heaven now 17 yrs I am 79 listening to this beautiful song crying myself sick, hope to be with them one day when Jesus calls me home.
hugs just lost my last remaining brother dream about my family a lot
i'm 72 and feel so much for you losing your son keep in your heart you will see him again one day❤
Hugs from France ❤
Thank you God Bless.
hugs from Vancouver❤
For those that haven't heard this; Elvis had said, Roy Orbison has "The Perfect Voice". Scholars suggest he had a three - four octave range and what one writer said, 'a glass-shattering falsetto". Regardless of all this, one only needs to listen to this man sing to know he is one the greatest of all time. Thank you Roy Orbison.
Elvis did not say that! He said "Roy is the best male singer" and that was at June 10 1972 in Madison Square Garden New York. Elvis said that because he was very humble and Roy was also a very close friend of Elivs and a reguilar seen guest at Graceland. Elvis said of many other singers they are the best, like for ex Fats Domino, Pat Boone. Now I like Roy Orbison but he is absolutely not of the level of Elvis. Elvis could surely sng like Roy, for ex with It's now or never, Surrender! Elvis is the most versatile singer ever, rock, ballads, country, blues, soul, even opera for ex with Hurt, How Great thou art at June 21 and 26 1977. Roy does not have a versatile voice, ok he is great in rock ballads, but rock 'n roll not so. Elvis is also the only entertainer taken up in all halls of fame and in every music style he had hits also someting which can not be said of Roy
@@patrickdevries6267 Google it. It's exactly what Elvis said about Roy, "the most perfect voice". Also, take another look at my post. I didn't compare Roy to Elvis. Merely, making a positive comment about a singer who most people believe was one of the best of all time. No offense to Elvis. LOL
Sorry, but the "scholars" are wrong and I've never heard ANY vocalist with a 3 to 4 octave range, including Roy Orbison. For instance, his lowest note in this song is an "A" (singing the word, "call" at 0:06) and his highest is a "C" (singing the word, "dreams" at 02:40), which is a little over 2 octaves. Just to reach the 3rd octave ("A") would be an extremely high (for a male) falsetto, sounding like a "whistle" note. Not impossible but certainly very rare.
@@anthonyperkins3527 Aaand...one only need to see the reverence they have for Roy in the adoring eyes of these people - Mr. Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Elvis' guitar player James G. Burton, Bonnie Raitt, Jennifer Warnes, KD Lang, Elvis Costello, JD Souther and all the rest to know he was at least one of the greatest of all time.
@@sess122 in his song walk on, he goes from 2nd -5th and even sixth octave in his vibrato
There will never be another Roy Orbison!
Even Elvis said he was the greatest.
True and there will neaver be another elvis,❤😢
Not in our Generation. Perhaps thurout Human History. Amazing. What Blessings we had. Omygoodness

One of the greatest live performances ever recorded for posterity. The Black and White Night.
For sure.
One of the most beautiful voices ever, and forever 🙏🏻 Roy Orbison
My dad passed away earlier this year. He had battled Parkinsons disease and dementia for many years. In a lucid moment he asked me to play this song for him at his funeral. Due to Covid 19 we never got to have a proper funeral. You always loved Roy Orbison, Dad this one is for you.
Bless him wherever he may be 🙏
he still loves u
My condolences. May God bless his soul and your family too.
R.I.P. I too buried my beloved father to a song of Roy's. R.I.P.
sad
His voice never deteriorated as he aged. One of the finest voices ever...
It got better to be honest. Which is rare from a smoker.
You always knew who was singing when he started! Never had to be told it was Roy!
wine does like roy did...that aging with glory thing
tj schoenlein agree Springsteen said when you listen to him sing it was like listening to an angel or something magical ❤️
he was only in his 50s
That voice will never be repeated or replaced. He was truly an original and his music will stand the test of time. Thank you Roy for sharing that incredible voice and for all those wonderful songs. You will never be forgotten.
Чудесная, прекрасная мелодия!❤ Голос необыкновенной красоты!❤
Roy Orbison's voice was not contrived, his singing was effortless 🎇
Believe me it doesn’t get any better than this. 🥰
His Beautiful voice puts tears in my eyes.

Roy Orbison ❤❤
My Grandad played this for my Nan who passed away last year. They were childhood sweethearts. Forever together, in dreams. ❤️ I feel I’m with them when I listen to this beautiful song.
wonderful song
Wonderful song
My god...what a voice. I'm a Elvis fan, and this voice is as unique as that of Sinatra, Tom Jones, Cash, among others, that is to say recognizable among all. From the first notes. The brand, not of the big ones, but of the giants. Unique they are and will remain so forever. Roy is one of them and sublimely.
When asked who has the best voice, Elvis replied Roy Orbison.
Yes I have also read this!
Elvis disait, le king ce n'est pas moi mais c'est lui!
Levi Stubbs
And Elvis was right
elvis was right god bless both of them
Elvis Presley said Roy was his favorite singer . That said it all . Roy was the best .
Gives me chills ,no matter how many times I hear it. What a natural professional. No auto tune ,studio garbage here !!!!!!!!!!!!!
you were my bitch and I put you in all fours
Kids today don’t know how great it was to grow up in the 60s when music like this permeated the airwaves. I miss those days so much.
i am jealous, everyone i know is into hip hop and pop now, and i am pretty sure i'm the only one who likes music like this.
I actually don't listen to the radio in the car because modern m music is just flat out shit. I wait to get home so i can listen to some of my most favorite artists such as Roy Orbison I was born in the late 80's im glad i was
@@Hp-lc6mq just a different generation born into music of today. Its amazing you listen to Roy Orbison. Elvis Presley fell inlove with his voice because he had a gift that no one else had and that was the way he sung.
You could " feel " the music of those days.
What happened the truthful text I sent the other day hurt, soon as I figure out how to block you from my face book I Will be bye ass
What A Voice! One Of the Greatest singing voices in history of music
He had a nontrained, natural operatic voice. Fabulous.
Tenderness, elegance, sophistication, romanticism, that's Roy Orbinson music is...and with 29 years old I am I feel really sad that in my time this kind of artists don't exist anymore
im 55yrs old. the emotion of this song gets to me every single time
I love this song so much that I would love it if they sing it at my funeral.
How does one listen to this without crying!?
I don't know if you all noticed his back up singers and his band but a lot of them were stars in their on right . If you ever researched ROY ORBISON'S history but he started singing on his own radio show in Texas when he was just eight years old . He was and still is the greatest singer of all time . And I have heard a lot of people in the past 74 years .
Yeah Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen etc?
The hairs on my neck always stand when I hear this man sing. He brings me to tears and always makes me remember who I've loved and lost.
this is and all star band behind him... check that... Hall of Fame band
Roy Orbison singt bis tief ins Herz ❤❤❤
Legende - Fantastisch - so etwas wie Roy gibt es nicht ein zweites mal Einmalig
Roy Orbison was one of the greatest American singers ever. Even Elvis Presley said that.
This song is almost unbearably beautiful and exquisite. If you have lost your mate and find yourself inconsolable and so
grief stricken that you can barely function, this song can speak to you more deeply than any other song.
True this! 🥲
True this! 🥲
I have experienced heartache over a lost mate and sought solace deep in the chords of this song for
some 50+ years. You state it SO very succinctly. I'm grateful to you for aptly summarizing. Regards
True dat ! Lost love of my life and I double over to this. ❤❤❤

Definition of golden voice - Roy Orbinson

Hello Anne
How are you doing today?
Roy Orbison must have been an angel sent by God..!
Yes he was and so was Elvis and Motown...
He's the best ...you got that right...
God took him back and said we need you to sing in heavens choir whith the other angles
The most amazing voice ever, with a song that only he could master. The Black & White Night is probably one of the best events ever recorded!
Larry, I totally agree..the haunting words and lyrics..when you dream about someone special it brings them into your life without them knowing..
spot on..it is a magnificent concert.....roy was singing spectacular and his writing comes through.....plus the others on stage were like little kids just being around him
Beautiful song reminds me of a untouchable love 💕 from the past
@@jameskennedy9832 Totaly understand they were great days with great music!
Dean Ford, lead singer for Marmalade managed this song with only 2 guitars. You can see it on YT, "Dean Ford Sang At My Wedding."
Like butter…effortless…a gift…a natural. Gone too soon, we are blessed to have heard his voice.
GD only GD and jesus isn't part of that equation@Jesus Only Jesus

Absolutely wonderful. 100% talent. Pure chills every time
T Bone Burnet, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Tom Waites, KD Lang, Jennifer Warnes are just a few in the supporting band for Roy. Such is the esteem in which he is held. Even Elvis’s guitarist James Burton is in there. Roy’s writing and unmistakable voice will live forever.
and as I recall from a story I read they did it for free
If you don’t already have it, get this CD
@@oldermusiclover If it isn't true, it should be. They all realized what a special event this was and no doubt saw the unique historic opportunity to be with Roy. I'm sure it boosted their careers.
@@anthonyperkins3527 true shows though how much he was loved
This voice is right from Heaven!
At a bar, talking about RO, first guy sez "God speaks through Roy", second guy sez "Nope, God wishes he was Roy"!
This is still one the BEST concerts EVER filmed. What a celebration !!
It's not THE best?
@@polybius23 Well, the camerawork and editing on WOODSTOCK .... is a rival for sure. LOL
Then, there's THE LAST WALTZ ..... and STOP MAKING SENSE.
They don't make them today like old Roy. His voice was magical. This whole concert was one of the best ever.
The greatest singer in the history of Rock n' Roll.
You cannot beat class and you could understand every word he sang . Awesome man.
so can even a French like me lol

I was very fortunate to see Roy live in the UK on two occasions, such a pure voice, won't see his like again, such a wide range to his voice. Anyone who have a thumbs down doesn't understand music.
Hello Marie, How are you doing?
Hi I saw Roy in Nottingham in mid-60s...the best, the very best.
Brilliant
I was at Roy's last concert in London opera and rock voice simply the best
Same here saw him in Chester , he was brilliant
I’m 64 miss my youth …this takes me back and brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it..unbelievable
i am 71 this tells my complete life
I will be 62 in June, 2023....this man, this voice, his heartbreaking life story still can break my heart!!
One of the best voices ever
This song touches me in ways I don't know how to describe. I am a welder, and a pretty manly guy, but this song gets to me.
Yes I am also a pretty tough guy but yes ,
This song can melt anything.
Its always touched me
Roy's songs make me cry.sadly in dreams was an experience I've had.
He touches all our hearts .He is still the best.
Easily one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded
I love Roy Orbison, I am 22 years young and I get called a granny for my music taste. This is seriously the best I’ve ever heard him live and you can see it on the smile of his bandmates that this night HE WAS ON!!!!
Wisdom doesn't always come with age...!! Enjoy one of the best,
Same!! My friends don't get it but this era's music is just so so great
Trust me when I say your friends are tone deaf . The music of the last thirty years doesn't compare with the music of the sixties and seventies . You could understand the words and sing along . So let them call you names laugh at them and enjoy others from the same time period. But Roy Orbison had the best voice ever even another antique like me said so it was Elvis Presley .
Today we all need to dream ( hopefully) in this madness we find ourselves in “
AT 75 now, listen to him everyday.
We had the best of times and the best of music…..love those times
Chanteur magnifique, la perfection, on tombe amoureux❤❤❤❤❤, quelle voix magnifique qui nous transperce le coeur❤❤❤❤❤
In dreams, our memories we keep.
There ours forevermore.
The life we've lived.
The Loves we've Loved.
For those we weep.
Now, in our hearts,
All those dreams we keep. 🖤
The most beautiful song I ever heard...God sent an angel from heaven to give us this masterpiece...RIP Roy...we miss you and your beautiful songs.
yes, it is perfect
I know. Right 😎👍
Such a sweet beautiful soul with the voice of an angel. Roy is the GOAT.
He had the voice of an angel. May he Rest In Peace.
PURE CLASS 😢
Orbison was in a league of his own. His songs touch parts of the brain that nothing else can.
The perfect voice for the perfect song. Truly great.
One of the greatest singers!
Brilliant music 🎶
Its always amazed me his octave level changes, Roy is in a class all by himself
And without opening his mouth ! 😊
One of the smoothest, if the best, singers of all time. He was a naatural.
THE ONE & ONLY ROY ORBISON !
Man, his voice aged marvelously. What a pleasure to hear him

The most extraordinary singer ever
This late, great, underated, absolute star should have 10 times the number of subscribers. This concert alone demonstrates why.
There is Elvis Costello on acoustic guitar. Truly Roy is one of the great voices of the century. It is so cool that George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn, Bob Dylan got to perform with their idol. And yet Roy felt it a privilege to perform with them. A humble sweet man.
I thought that was him!
IIKE ALWAYS.....THAT IS ROY ORBISON ALL THE WAY.😅
Gentleman Roy** I saw him in here in Dublin in the 70s, He was a beautiful humble man , l will never forget him, R,I,P Roy, ♥️♥️
Beutiful song love it
.....a beautiful humble man.....
Indeed, that is how I will always remember him. He was one of a kind.
June Bermingham - You are very fortunate to have seen him perform. Wish I had.
It was along time ago,, The venue was a dance hall ,, Here in Dublin,. I will never forget he was a lovely man!! Happy Days!!! R,I,P, Roy, 💚☘️
I saw him in Belfast in 64 ..sensational
I'm 61 and never heard a better voice
The Big O was one of the very few who sounded the same live as on the record.
Bob Dylan called him an opera singer. Damn right he is. The way he uses his incredible technical voice (pitch, tone, range, vibrato) and most of all his phrasing paints songs in a way that is sublime. That vocal line at 2:20 its just other worldly, good luck anyone trying to sing that in the way he does, forget it. His stuff is like mini operas. Divine. And an incredibly beautiful man to boot.
So true. Well said.
I had the privilege to stand on stage with him during a few songs. He is amazing.
No words can describe this incredible artist amazing thank you Roy for years of listening to your wonderful voice
It's me I'm 64 and have been listening to Roy for years.
Roy Orbison was simply the best!!! RIP my friend.
All-star band members include: Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen on guitar, K.D. Lang on vocals, Jackson Browne (vocals), Jennifer Warnes (vocals), J.D. Souther ( vocals, played in Elvis' band), Bonnie Raitt (vocals), Tom Waits (guitar and organ), Glen Hardin (piano, played in Elvis' band), James Burton (guitar. played in Elvis' band), and Ronnie Tutt (Drums, played in Elvis' band)
The people in the audience weren't encouraged to make clapping noises unless they'd earned a couple of Grammy awards. It certainly wasn't amateur night.
Wow , what a line up, thanks so much for your information..
I'm pretty sure J D Souther didn't play with Elvis! The other names mentioned are correct.
one of the greatest songs every written, this songs has 7 different parts, as soon as a part is finished it will never appear in the song again
IMO, the most operatic voice in the history of R&R.
When you have lost a loved one, this song takes on a different meaning. Thanks, Roy.
We played this as my mam was being leaving the church at her funeral, so precious this song is to me,
roy Orbison and Robin Gibb...voices of angels.
In dreams, the only way that I can be with my departed wife of almost 40 years. I understand the pain of waking and not seeing her there. I’m sure other widowers feel the same pains in this piece.
Elvis always said Roy had the Best Voice Ever, what a graceful man was he. He enjoyed Roy's music!
OH YES.😅
Yes but I loved Elvis too.
@@dr.darlenecravens5799 Yes he had a charm about him with his voice no one can match he made you love him, and this is coming from a guy......
I do miss the days of this music, where the lyrics always touched your heart, and listening to the radio was magical.
Now all we have is Radio Gaga...
Amen.

Beautiful song, beautiful voice. Roys voice calms my soul
He didn't even try he just opened his mouth and the voice was golden
Hello Wendy
How are you doing today?
I don’t think I’ve EVER heard a musician sing live who is just as perfect as his recorded album. What a true gift! He makes it look effortless. You’ll always be loved, Roy❣️❤️💖
R.I.P. Roy Orbison!
Sent my dear father off to this song at his funeral. It will forever remind of him and what he did for my family
To get this recorded just one year before he died was just a remarkable piece of good fortune for the world. What a gift to us all.
"Roy Orbison is the best singer I've ever heard!" - Elvis Presley....."Elvis and Roy Orbison, now those 2 boys could really SING you a song!" - Sam Phillips, Sun Records
My God this is such a beautiful song.
This is the only way I can see my beautiful husband. He passed away at age of 55. He was the best looking man I ever man I ever saw in my life. Big beautiful blue eyes. I love him more than anything. I miss him everyday. I just thank God I had the tine I had with him.
Elvis loved Roy Orbison. He said he had the best voice he ever heard.
If you have not already done so, watch the whole of this Black and White Night video. It is a masterclass and I just wish I had been in the audience to cherish it.
At 19, first heard the great RO on a hospital bed: CRYING, RUNNING SCARED. Awesome then and now. I'm 76.
You've got six years on me, but I feel exactly the same as you do. I was in the 8th grade when this song premiered. I loved it from the start. - Hospital bed? Veteran are you? I am a disabled veteran, 1973 to 1993. We all did our best.
Only Roy Could sing them like that. Awesome!
Göttliche Musik.....wird es nie wieder geben
In the saddest and darkest moments of my life Roy's voice has carried me through. It is a haunting tremble, the clear and pure notes, but also the soul of the man enters your own as you listen to song after song. The Crowd, Blue Angel, Running Scared...on and on... Somehow, it seems like sharing pain is a healing experience with the music we love. Thank you Roy Orbison. It is a well known fact that Roy loved his voice; just not as much as I do.
Me too ✋ 😪 🙏
Roy had one of the sweetest timbres a voice could have. He could enrapture, sadden, and enliven all in one song. I very much doubt I will ever hear another voice quite as beautiful, or that stirs the soul quite as much, as Roy’s.
You’re right. His was a rare voice. It’ll always be missed.
And knew it..came off a concert on night and said, "didnt i sound good" ..Yes Mr Orbison.. you certainly did.
HE HAD A VOICE THAT REACHED 5 OCTAVES.....WHAT A VOICE.😂
No joke!!
NO ONE , I MEAN NO ONE CAN REACH THIS RANGE....DON'T EVEN BOTHER LOOKING IN ''AMERICA'S GOT TALENT'' THEY WILL NEVER REACH HIS LEVEL. HE IS UNIQUE.😄
One of the best songs in the world. Written for his own personal tragic reasons....but has become an anthem to my own
Beautiful song, reminds me of my late husband who is always in my dreams. Love you always. ❤
