Really? Glad that i did, still not done with it but i rushed it before the current tours end.
Also, i'm also grateful to the people that make ideas i couldn't, sounds like a great idea to postulate ideas that one can't do, look for that up really soon.

@@Schimnesthai Haha... thanks for answering my implicit question... :)
I mean: I am not against Brand X and I like their music. But when the topic is what Genesis members did and no Genesis member play there anymore, it is kind of... hm... you know what i mean? (

    • @Schimnesthai
      @Schimnesthai  Рік тому

Definitely for a new video that idk if i will make, but also, playing songs from others... that would've been a worse bonus, atleast Brand X carried some of the sounds that Phil stablished after he left and came back and left again. Even Ray Wilson who can be a tad different, his early material before Genesis seems fit for what CAS was going to be, and his later material extends on that as well.

Hackett's initial solo run (1975-1980) contains the highest concentrate of bangers per album. Bit of a correction but Highly Strung and Bay of Kings both came out in 1983.

    • @Schimnesthai
      @Schimnesthai  Рік тому

I like it, not as much as the albums that Genesis did during that period, yet i like them all really.
Its hard for the entire humanity to point a particular era because they were all doing different things, it feels like everyone got a certain sound in the 70s, 80s and 90s, while on the 2000s, they went really apart, some opted for orchestral arrangements, and others for more techno things, wich is interesting.

Congratulations on the initiative to present these albums of the group, but I believe that several of them were missing that I own, namely: according to your description, from what I understand: -
Steve Hackett recorded before joining Genesis
Quiet World - The road (1970)
    Peter Gabriel recorded the following:
    Birdy (1985)
    Passion (1989)
    Ovo (2000)
    Long walk home (2002)
    Scratch My Back (2010)
Phil Collins recorded the following: - Buster (1988)
    -Tarzan (1999)
Tony Banks released The Wicked Lady in 1983 and Baknstetmant recorded In 1989
In the case of 1987, Anthony Phillips released Private parts and pieces VII - Slow waves, soft stars In 1987, which by the way launched; Private parts and pieces (1978) Private parts and pieces II - Back to pavillion (1980)
Private parts and pieces III - Antiques (1982)
Private parts and pieces IV - A catch at the tables (1984)
Private parts and pieces V-Twelve (1985)
Private parts and pieces VI - Ivory moon (1986)
Tarka (1988) with Harry Williamson Private parts ans pieces VIII - New England (1992)
Private parts ans pieces IX - Dragonfly dreams (1996)
Private parts and dreams - Soiree (1999)

It's not in the video for reasons I can understand (the Genesis universe is huge and you can't possibly cover everything), but I really recommend all of Anthony Phillips private parts and pieces series for people who want to dig into him more. I like listening to it in the morning when I want something more ambient. He actually might be my favourite composer in Genesis

I truly enjoyed many of the works, and i was actually including them, until it started getting increasingly harder to find good quality audio and pictures of some of them, as well as having some blocked for me, wich was pretty weird because the blocking was inconsistent (6 was blocked, 7 wasn't, 8 was blocked but then it wasn't, something like that).
      I second the recomendation.

Must have taken a long time to compile all this, which just goes to show that Genesis is one of the most successful rock bands out there, with the massive careers that Phil and Peter had (plus the smaller, yet still respectable sales Mike had with his Mechanics). Shame that you left out Secret World, as that was a pretty big album for PG.

I'm confused why a few of Phil's releases weren't included but not complaining. IE: Plays Well With Others, Essential, Hot Night in Paris, Other Sides & Remixed Sides & his two Disney movie soundtracks & Buster but I've probably not understood 'the rules' 😉
Did I say this is SOOO GREAT? 😎🤯❤
Someone had commented about compilation of albums with Genesis member production or appearances. THAT would be quite a task but OH SO INTERESTING & 😎🥰
Should you decide to accept this mission you may need to also secure a medical professional or caretaker to watch over your well being so you don't overdose on rabbit holes 🤭
I've been journeying through Marquee Club rabbit holes & the pseudo Genesis name "The Garden Wall" with regard to Phil & Genesis. 🤯😎
I've also recently acquired Genesis, Where The Sour Turns To Sweet. I've not listened yet but is a From Genesis to Revelation spin off of sorts.
Anyways THANK YOU AGAIN! 👏🏻👏🏻🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟BRILLIANT WORK here. JUST WOW! 🙌😎

About Phil, in the rules i stablished no OSTs (Except for the Tony album Soundtracks by mistake), no live releases (except Genesis) and no compilations or remakes (except some Steve and Mike albums because they featured new music, wich is an exception to the rule).
I won't accept this mission, i'm doing another one that i think its even more neat and only for GENESIS, no solo careers, still, stay tuned for that.

Fair enough, i only gave the edge to Tony Banks because of how little releases he had in comparison, but then i omitted live albums, leaving Peter and Phil with less releases than him, maybe a 2.0 version of this will fix those issues, but for now, i'm preparing a commentary piece.
