I've had countless regional specialities from all over the world, cultures and nationalities and i've lived for a good amount of time in lot of different countries because of my work. Italians really have a completely new whole world in that piece of land. Italy is the richest country when it comes to biodiversity. The microclimate, the morphology and its geography combined with so many microcultures spawned one of the best place+culture you can have when it comes to food. Even SUPERMARKETS in italy have better vegetables than the one they sell in other countries (and don't get me started on the local producer's more natural and biological products). Don't underestimate Italy's climate and their food culture, italians are very lucky to have all that.
As someone who lives in Rome, we also have an outstanding amount of rubbish on the streets, and our roads are basically just a bunch of holes with some vague resemblance of bitumen between them
As a descendent of italians, my family cherish the narrative of the departure of our ancestors happily singing to those italians that stayed, as the ship was leaving the docks, to "be content with this piece of sh*t" that was Italy, and telling them other nice things. Of course, those that were in the docks sang back to their emmigrant compatriots that "it's good that you go away to that sh*t land cross the Atlantic, you useless son of a wh@re" or some very nice things. 😅 That was late 1800's. It seems the general loving feeling italians have towards each other didn't change a lot from that time! 😂

Ma giusto per colmare la tua lacuna, ti informo che ormai da tempo su casu marzu è vietato, e non è che in ogni casa sarda si mangia casu marzu. Io ad esempio non l'ho manco mai visto, e nei negozi non lo trovi. Italian to another Italian: you suck at me
Italians when they win football: we embrace brother, we are the best!
Goffredo Mameli, in the lyrics of our anthem, says: "For centuries we have been trampled on, mocked, because we are not a community, because we are divided". This is still so true. But I love my country ❣
So like 50% Italians see other Italians as barbaric whilst also being labelled as barbaric.
Remember though: Only Italians can trash talk Italy. 😂

There were actually two wars of mafia, the second one was more "modernized" and brutal with more people killed, if you ever said anything against mafia you were not safe anymore, you would have to be escorted at all times by 2 reinforced cars, AND STILL it wouldn't be enough, just look at Giovanni Falcone, who exploded while coming back from Rome in July 1992, some people hated him for trying to kill the mafia thinking that he was just trying to get fame, but when he died, everyone's hearts broke and a tree full of prayers, condolences and poems for him was placed in front of his house.

That was late 1800's.
It seems the general loving feeling italians have towards each other didn't change a lot from that time! 😂
I think it is kind of funny and maybe a little true. What part of Italy are you from? Italians seem to be very perceptive. From what I know about Italians, I can really see some of this.
as you probably see many italians before me left a personal comment under the video. I wanna say that these things are not to take seriously. They are just stereotypes typical of ignorant people. I'm a northern italian and I believe in an united Italy we must go over these prejudices that unfortunately are still common among ignorant people.
