- Hagerman Pass is a pretty easy trail out of Leadville. It is however very bumpy for most of it, the opening clip gives you a good idea of whats to come, slow going on and off curbs. The views at the top are amazing and it was cool to see so much snow up there still. The scale is hard to tell but what’s remaining is massive, a guy was even snowboarding. Overall this is a great trail with a couple medium obstacles to keep it fun.

I love these tires. The only others I'd take are the BFG KO2 but they don't make them in this size and the KM2's are amazing. You can probably imagine the amount of driving I do weekly and how much abuse my tires get. These things last, everyone knows this, you've seen it in my videos.

These tire deflators have many $15 copies but the others just don't hold up or are inaccurate. I don't know what the deal is, they look identical to me too but read the reviews- they're bad. I've been using these Staun's for over a year and never had a problem, I air down a lot. Set them at the trail so your tires will be the same temp when you get to the trail next time.

There are better ones but I'd just get a bigger VIAIR, not something different. Airs up all my 33's from 14psi to 37psi in less than 10 minutes.

My microphone is the worst good mic you can get. BUT don't be fooled, it's a very good mic. Picture me getting in my car for the 50th time after I just ran up and down a hill... for the 50th time. Do you see me disconnecting my mic and gingerly setting it in a case? No. It stays connected to the tripod, gets thrown into my plastic cargo area and bounces around with other heavy items until the next one. It gets terrible interference from WiFi so you must make sure that it's off on your camera or phone. If you are trying to use this with your phone you need to get a TRS to TRRS cable which RODE makes. This is required because your phone will think the mic is headphones.

I went through 2 tripods in 1 month, a $20 and a $30. Buy it nice or buy it thrice. This thing gets opened and closed MANY times per week in rain, snow, dirt, and even in the middle of rivers. I love the 2-stage legs so i can make it real low in 2sec instead of shortening all the legs.

You can tell how easy it was to progress through my videos. Besides maybe five times, you've seen every bit of flying since I got it. I don't fly in the city and I don't go to the mountains and not make a video. It is VERY easy to use.

The filters are a must. Again I have the worst ones and I am still very pleased. My first use was video #35 and I think it is very apparent. Illinois Gulch (#34 obviously) has a completely white sky, way too much blue. I'm still not even good about selecting the right one or changing them out but it's 10x better than nothing.

Funny how other people put 10K-20K to deck out their rig to make it super off-road and never take it off-roading. B-Roll keeps it going with just the BF goodrich tires from what I see. Appreciate brother! Keep up the content and love the Xterra!

we had a great time, week long trip but i only filmed this trail completely. i was going to reshoot Tincup but they’ve graded it, it’s smooth sailing so i said screw it haha.

yea the whole day was constantly changing, fast moving clouds. the plan was to camp at the top and film the other side the next day but i was already jamming and just kept filming. glad i did because the next day was totally different and i like this a lot better, there's a lot going on in the distance in a few shots. thanks for watching!

hope some of that snow near the gate aeea is still there in 3 weeks when I'm back there again . Past 2 years the snow was gone on the 1/4 mile section west of the gate just before the Sign

hey thanks for checking! it’s been… medium haha. hoping to turn my luck around and bag a couple trails before it’s too late but if not i’ll just be in Moab more often through winter. little bit of medical issues and after minimal car problems for years it’s all just been piling on at once. but we’ll get it patched up and hope to be back “soon.” in general though, can’t complain and had a great summer. hope the same for you 👍

i had a ton of car problems (nothing to get mad at, it has 250k miles) then made a career switch so i’ve been traveling a lot and super busy but it’s all good news 👍

nice, car is in the shop… again… not mad i’m just having LOTS of things come all at once after having very few problems over 4yrs haha. kind of angry i filmed like 2 trails this entire year but it’s shouldn’t complain. my schedule is pretty unknown as of now, are you on the front range?
@@BRollOffroad what all is going sheets on it? I've had mine since 2016 and put almost 100,000 miles on it since then with not many issues, but I have upgraded the suspension quite a bit I know you're running mostly stock isn't that right? I'm on the front range I live in Longmont.

appreciate it! i definitely try to go a little more ham when the trail isn't obstacle-heavy with a bunch of shots. this is only 11 tripod shots which is very low, usually i want 25+ but most of this trail is just softball rocks that i'm going slow over so it'd be pretty boring to watch it all haha. that's where the drone comes in 👍

How soaked did you get retrieving your camera after the creek crossing?
this was a case where i just reversed, unfortunately the sand was soft and i did sink and fill my right shoe haha.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the capabilities of a 4x4 Xterra vs the e350 4x4. obv very different rigs but I've been eying the van for a bit and currently have an xterra.
they’re very good, possibly better offroad than the X. the problem comes with size though, i may not be able to drive up that 2-3’ stair but the X is so small i have more line options and can get around it or just hook a rear tire or something. the trade off is.. well, size! my buddy can park and walk back to his bed and be done. he has a bunch of drawers accessible from the cab and ton of storage out back. basically if you need more space/convenience a van is a great option that can still handle most trails. if you’re happy with the X you just have to decide if the space is worth the $40k (minus sale of your X) to get into a van.

thanks! we ran it from the west towards Leadville, opposite of how TrailsOffroad has it.

@@MKAK47 no, we did it the "wrong way" because we were over there and headed that direction, we started in Gypsum headed to Buena Vista. it'd be more fun to go up the final shot (which is why i filmed it going up for the easter egg) and also up the water straddle and mud hole, but both ways are good.

Do you know what your getting into before hand? And how much can the Xterra handle?
in this case i had done Hagerman 3 times before but 90% of the trails on this channel are my first time. i use TrailsOffroad for all the info i need, unaffiliated (although i did meet them and they’re a cool group) but it’s the best in my opinion. finding out what it can handle can only be done through trial and error but i offroaded for ~10yrs before starting this channel. i DO have a Hard Trails playlist if you wanna check that out and get an idea though.
specs are:
33” tires
2” suspension lift
no sway bars
Looks like a 2wd road to me.

How do you like the GFC Superlite?
i love it! definitely some cons but that’s the price of weight saving and it’s almost unnoticeable up there so i’ll take the 1min longer setup time any day. the wall fabric is so good, the straps for the cover become the tensioner for the door vent post, clever stuff. i was thinking of doing a review in case someone’s looking at a used one but i’m sure the new ones will be great.

there are a couple spots I have seen on the east side and quite a few on the west side past Ivanhoe lake a few miles

as in - no other cars. Group means you’ll see at least one other vehicle throughout, all 179 videos are labeled. sometimes i have passengers or i’m meeting people at camp but unless there’s another truck in the video it’s Solo.
