- Personal Watercraft champions Craig Warner, Mike Klippenstein, Christian D' Agostin and Mark Gerner charge wide open across the Pacific Ocean to claim PWC offshore racing's top prize and the Watercraftrider.com cameras were there again to capture all of the dramatic action.
He has the best tactics in the group... "Uhhh basically just hammer the throttle." Whatta sport.
Good luck holding on to that for a long time.
The Beast stop talking shit when u don't own a ski
Actually harder than it looks you are in the ocean water feels like cement if you fall off
The Beast Where the fuck are you bitch?
I like to see him to hammer the throttle 70 to 80 mph just for 20 minutes ua-cam.com/video/MB0GpXK4wuU/v-deo.html
So....whoever doesn't break down, wins? Sign me up!
My back hurts watching this
I bet they fall asleep later that night still vibrating.
@@GUMMYBEAYUH lol
No kidding and the calves....chop is murder come Monday morning especially on a Yami...lot of agony
Never Gonnatell they all stand up, and I’m guessing they have cups
Never done the race, but I have done that route on my PWC many times. You have to stand up. Makes your knees sore and quads /gluts hurt. The guy sitting down must have had a special seat made.
Having some turns would help, this race will just show you the power of the wave runner .
That PWC life. Good times.!😎🤙💦

I've rode a jetski 26 miles on a calm lake and I could barely make it. I was exhausted when I got home. I couldn't imagine doing 104 miles in the ocean. That is insane.
Completely agree! I rode a jet ski from downtown Chicago to the north side of Chicago on Lake Michigan… about 14 miles total. It was absolutely exhausting. People don’t realize the physical strength and endurance it takes to ride these things hard especially on the open water
People say NASCAR is boring, but at least they turn left sometimes.
LOL
One tirn
I don't think you got the joke. But that's not surprising coming from a NASCAR fan.
Well if you fell what water becomes same as cement at what speed
francis Angel lmao
I don't understand how this could be considered one of the best watercraft races? Multiple competitors admitted you just pin it and drive straight.
4StrokeBloke just a drag race
not seen drag racing eh.
It’s a water drag u idiot
Yup like drag racing, total shite
That was probably trash talk, honestly, they ain’t giving up their strategy.
The ones that did go all out broke before the turn.
Even the guy in second nursed a starving ski home
The winner said he dialed it back so he wouldn’t get bucked off.
Obviously they can’t just
“Pin it and win it”
these things are crazy and theres a lot more to it than everyones saying. Really cool to watch
This looks like a great motor/mechanical endurance race the skill is in engineering and is reliability test
Modified skis running at full power for 30 minutes is obviously not the formula for reliability
Thats why its an endurance race, bring it all to the table and see it will hold up.
that water is rock hard . Got to be fun as hell .
Real sure those engines were built to withstand a race. Then they’re rebuilt for the next run.
You’d be surprised, maybe do some research on these boats
Micheal Klein Nah its is called racing. 30 minutes? From Long Beach to Catalina AND BACK? The IJSBA offshore endurance race is about 74.56 miles with a departure from Long Beach to Catalina Island which is 37.28 miles off Los Angeles and back to Long Beach. It is not about the best bug out vehicle but that distance at that speed does require some reliability.. I do not think your Prius would do well with reliability in any off road desert race similar to the Baja 1000 or a 250 mile race of that kind..
it's a 52 mile race how does it take an hour if you're going 70 mph ?
Blessings from Frankfurt in Darmstadt.
Thank you for your precious, important work.
ANDI KRAMER
don't be silly... I'm still gunna send it.
Lol just send it
I really enjoyed watching this.
seems like whoever has the fastest machine wins not much skill involved
Max Rosen my comment had nothing to do with what the point of a race is. I simply said this race doesn't take much skill
actually it takes a little more than that.. not only does your body need to be able to handle the challenge, but the water is ever changing, you can't just practice and memorize the waves.
enigma9789 it's really not that hard... I have a supercharged Yamaha and I can keep it going mid eighties/top speed. Hardest thing is your thumb getting tired.
Oh fuck an internet tough guy watch out every one
I've done this ride on a ski. It's not difficult per se. It's not easy for a rookie but for anyone whose spent more than 50 hrs on a ski could finish. Maybe not win but at least finish
Seems more to be a competition for the mechanics and engineers who build and prep the vehicles to endure that long
It’s been 5 years and I still come back to watch this
I know this is from 2016 but wow, what an awesome race!! 👍👍
It’s so hard to stay in the jet ski at that speed, trust me.
Agreed
Exactly riding at 70+ is tiring
@Aymane Ben_Sim_Hamad ya and im peter pan
@Aymane Ben_Sim_Hamad your jetski doesn’t go 120 mph
Like but not ruining 69 Likes..
I love this stuff!
Looks tiring but really fun
I hit a wave hole at just under 100mph and was ejected from my PWC. From what those that saw me bounce I skipped like a stone on a pond for 30 of 40 yards. Broke 4 ribs in my chest and 2 on my back. At that speed water is like concrete.
Jorgen dahl just under 100 on what ski ?
Even top of the line consumer jet skis don’t go more than 70 mph
@@auralplex they do when they are modded.
Radical rides !!💪🏻👍🏻 I just subscribed to your channel.👍🏻👍🏻
Those jet skis look super duper sick i would want one like that
Am not even a jet ski person but this looks awesome 😎
Nice. I ran my 2004 GTX for over 50 miles last April on Kentucky Lake. Left from The Moors Marina. Went as far as Hamlin - Sugar Creek. Then again, being NA - just holding at a cruise speed of 45 mph. Got back to The Moors with two bars left on the gauge. Fun run.
I got FX HVSO and I know Christian going for a ride with him this week end. Awesome.
Love my Yamaha, She is fast.
sike
Didn't know this was a thing. I WANT IN
I miss racing so much!!!!
Back in the 70s on 8' Maja. 87 MPH avg.
This is pretty damn cool.
Holy Crap, I served with Mike Arnold. Great to see a brother out of the Corps living the dream.
Crazy Talk ty for serving
Looks fun!! Super nice water... going 80 or 90 on the water on these things is quick. Like snow machines... if choppy water this would be tougher.
Bravo super video
Notice how there aren’t any seadoo’s😂
I have a 2015 seadoo
Sea doos are fast af and fun as hell
Seadoos sink alot i know alot about that
Bombardier probably knows that their Sea-Doo's buyers are mainly using them for recreational activity, so it's useless to promote their pwcs as racing machines
@@johncangemi3214 I do as well. I rode a jetski to Catalina under the company "jetski to Catalina" and my seadoo's bow sank under a wave resulting in my faceplant into the ocean.
I love jetski racing..im so surprised it isn't a huge sport here in miami.since we have water everywhere
Klipper! I watched him on the Shuswap 20 years ago.
This is a crazy race you never know what happen on the water..water changes every second
Got to ride 525 this weekend and that thing is a dream to drive...
ty
I always thought endurance races were stupid but I kinda want to do this one
This looks extremely fun. Hopefully one day I'll buy a Yamaha and hit the waters.
Yamaha's have a weak hull design..... Buy a Sea-Doo.
ya
is that why there were no sea doo's in this race?
wastegate, because they suck in rough water.... kawa dominates rough water... keep the seadoos in the pool (lake)
L. Murray you will get there one day my dude
I love jet skis bro
Looks very hard. This requires some serious amount of skills.
when you're the best at pulling a trigger...
if its so easy then why dont you try riding waves at 80+ MP/H on a jet skii and see how long you can hold out without breaking your neck lmfao
jerbeary11 its not that bad
jerbeary11 i go 70 on mine all the time. Its dangerous but it doesnt take any skill.
jerbeary11 Waves....
Chris looks like u have never driven a jetski in the ocean -_-
1:50 I wonder who sponsors him ....
It's the Catalina wine mixer bro
garrett toney lol yes
❤❤❤❤❤❤that looks so much funnnnnn ❤❤❤❤
Amazing, but i'd give anything to see this 10 years ago with 2 strokes battling it out
i wana show up with a sick boosted yamaha waveventure or waveraider 2 stroke and spank these foo's lol
damn the EPA
Or a Prius race down the autobon
Dino Molina Good luck 😂
I did this trip a few years ago on a 18 year old 2 stroke Jet Ski. Was completely fogged in when we left, we got a little lost, took 2 1/2 hours with no gps. Arrived with .8 gallons gas remaining. The trip home in clear weather took 1.5 hours. It was too beautiful to rush and so much to see. 2 whales, at least 10 sharks, seals, porpoise, tuna, a massive sunfish, and flying fish. So memorable!
This looks fun
An endurance race that's less then an hour long!!!!!!
So I'm generally interested in this sport and I mean no offense by my questions, so please be polite. I've ridden wave runners quite a bit (never on the ocean). What is the skill behind this sport? It seems just like holding down the gas for 50 some miles with a single turn around.
Cool sunglass boi:
"I don't let it get to my head"
"I don't run the #1 plate, even though I'm #1"
Also cool sunglass boi:
Sinks
Is this part of the Catalina Wine Mixer?
Crazy endurance.
Everyone says “.the person with the best jet ski wins” but you have to know your machine and it’s limits u also have to shift your body to be aro-dynamic and shift to adjust to waves. You have to be physically able to use your arms and legs for that long at high speeds
I wasn't even aware a jetski could make it there and back without refueling, we went there on my uncle fishing boat which is pretty fast and it seemed quite far.
I remember Jack La Laine swam the Catalina channel in a bathing suit and HANDCUFFS!
He had a killer juicing machine too.
I will get on this one day 🙏
lol, @6:05. Good to see Kawasaki still has the coolant hose issue on the new Ultras... SO glad I sold mine a few years ago. Literal same thing happened to my Ultra 250X and it cost me $2600 for a new supercharger after it water logged the engine bay.
I just did the jetski2catalina adventure great fun
How do they know where the turn around boat is, do they just follow the chopper?
I like how he doesn't say shit about his easy win at the end shows the kind of man he is.
Very nice game
Lots of snare drums !
what a duchesport
Wow, what a ride that must be at near full throttle 80mph.
I’m not sure if anyone has ever ridden a jet ski. But it’s a lot of hard work.
Especially going over 65 MPH.
and trying to stay in control with choppy water while you get airtime
Hey Watercraft Rider, are you guys releasing a vid on the 2017 LB2CAT Race?
Nice jet skis
No seadoos on the list lol
When do they have this race?
I'm curious whether any machines in the STOCK class broke down?
YAMAHA RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!
MrLuisom wrong all pros race Kawasaki
Oh yeah
MrLuisom that's why all the races are won with Kawasaki lol
9 car Cottrell yea I agree Kawasaki’s are faster and better for racing
My first time riding one I went cartwheeling in the water went flying 🤸
This is so badass I love it
The arm pump has gotta be insane. People in these comments acting like this isn't hard...let's see you try then lmao. Sick sport
what happened to 2017's race
Wie ist es beim verkürzen..................?
Is the fx hvso faster then the FZR?
superrrrrr👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You win this by being small and light.
Watching this gives me arm pump
My stock craft will do 68. Running it across the lake on a busy day is challenging. This seems as though it would be easier. Fewer cross waves.
Have these gone electric yet? Would that change the reliability?
I told people I wanted to take a wave runner to Catalina and people said I was nuts and wouldnt make it and turns out they have been doing it since 94!? at least racing them I bet people have been doing it before that!!
when is this years race? or did it pass already...
What display does he have at 7:28 ?
Just hammer the throttle and go straight? Shit I’ve got a jet ski and some free time how do I sign up?
Do they have to run stock?
Where can we check out the 2017, 2018 & 2019 races? :)
why would you want too.
I have always wanted to do this can someone please send me a link for tryouts
70 MPH on a jetski is MUCH different that 70 MPH in a car...
Luv my Yamaha
A lot of people have hated on the Yamahas. I just recently picked up a 2017 GP1800. Its predecessor was the FZR. I am admittedly biased towards Yamaha(I own an R1, R6 and a YZ250 2 stroke and a Waverunner VXR and now the GP1800, lol) so take my opinion with a grain of salt. But Yamaha's wave runners are legit. They handle really well and have a TON of power. I took my new GP out and in stock form, ran 67mph with GPS. My VXR is slightly modded but it has ran 60ish before mods and that's impressive, especially from a NA motor. I would say to anyone if they want good power, speed and handling, go with the Yamaha. The Seadoo RTX has more power for sure and the Kawi might be a little faster from the factory, but the Yamahas seem to have the best all-around.
Edwin Hallett i
My bro has a 2004 rxp and I drove 72mph on it
Edwin, I've also owned many Yamaha's and currently track a 2015 R1. Curious about your opinions since you've had a GP and VXR. How would you compare the power of the HO vs SVHO? I don't care about top speed, not racing anyone... it'll mainly be used for playing around the boat. Thx!
Yamaha has been building marine engines for over 40 or 50 years now. They are by far the most reliable, atleast they were. I had a Raider 701 and my boss who I raced with owned everything but a Yamaha and I towed every one of his skis at some point in time. We did the offshore for circuit 3 years. Catalina for fun 5 times and the Grand Canyon 4 times and every river in northern California. Never once did the Yamaha fail.
i own a 2009 FZR bone stock, ive outran many seadoos and yamahas, never raced a kawasaki. i ran against a new GP 1800 and lost but not by as much as i thought i would. honestly the fastest machines i have ever ran across slightly modded fzr/fzs wave runners. i met one guy and his wife on thier FZR it was 2 of them on one machine and me alone on mine. i might as well have been in a canoe, thier machine was redicules and he only had an intake, exhaust, rideplate and a stage 1 re-flash. nothing near what these guys have..
Dude how do i zign up for this
Why no bombardiers?
about how fast do these guys top out at?
I'm coming out to do this and have never been on a jet ski
How fast are they going?
