I've done this ride twice this year, one in rough water and one in flat. Rough water is fun until you're 15 miles in and cant feel your arms anymore.

Where do I sign??
I have a 07 RXP, live in Oceanside. I launch out of the harbor and ride down to La Jolla, up to Dana Point, etc. It's amazing what you see if you spend enough time in the Ocean, especially on a RXP. Would love to ride with some of these guys.
all of the above. The ocean is the world's largest jungle, even if you stay within a few miles of shore.

I ride only stand up jets but for those who think this is only sitting and grab a throttle i say go and try. This is serious high speed jets 80mph+. i am sure you will piss your pants in half minute WOT

Skis are really physically taxing when you ride them like this, arms and legs are noodles after riding like this.
I've got a sea doo that gors about 50 mph, but 80+ sounds AWESOMELY SCARY

My uncle made the trip in his deck boat but said it was risky and probably wouldn’t do it again.

How much does it cost to go from stock to what these guys are running. I'm assuming its pretty insane. 10k?
+Tim Sharky Productions The R&D Turbo Kit like the one Klipper is running on his Yamaha is &10,500 and that's the starting point. Warner's Kawasaki is also running a turbo but that is a factory ski. R&D makes a turbo kit for the Kawasaki Ultras that lists for $8,000. We have ridden Klipper's ski as well as an R&D Turbo equiped Ultra and they are both incredible. What that money doesn't buy is Warner's and Klipper's talent as they are two of the best riders in the world.

Check out our "Extraordinary Ordinary Ultra" video of Minoru Kanamoi's race ski, basically a stock Kawadaki Ultra 310R with a ECU reflash, so about $600 and he was race ready. WR
Wow...I paid less for the HKS twin-turbo kit for my Nissan GTR (turbos, lines, bolts, new engine mounts, coolant lines, wastegats, downpipes, gold heat shielding, turbo inlet pipe, etc.... Any reason why the kit for a watercraft costs so much more?
In the case of the R&D kits for the Yamaha, there is A LOT of hardware pieces included beside the turbo and wastegate, such as a new intercooler, water jacketed hand welded inlet and outlet pipes, a new muffler kit, fuel pressure regulator, ECU reflash, boost controller, mounting brackets, a revised crankcase vent system and more. There was a ridiculous amount of engineering that went into it. check it out at rd-performance dot com and you'll see what I mean.
The Turbo kit for the Kawasaki is similar but requires less hardware (uses stock intercooler) so the price is a bit less at 8K. WR
How the hell are all those breaking down?
Pushing your ski WOT (Wide open throttle) for that long puts a lot of stress on the engine, and most of those skis are way beyond stock placing even more stress on the engine. The guy that won took 51 minutes, that's 51 minutes of pushing the ski to its absolute max.
Excuses !!! That way they can say I lost because my ski broke down 🙆🏻♂️😅
What's the name of these bikes?& what's the price range?
Some of them are Yamaha FX SVHO some are Kawasaki Ultra 310Rs and you'll occasionally see a Sea-Doo in these long races. And MSRP can run 15k+ after taxes easily up to 20k or more USD. But all these are heavily modified so they have a lot more in them

+T.B. Squad The SeaDoo Rotax engines are a liability in races. It's a lot easier to repair standard SeaDoo and Kawasaki engines.

Question overall, riding this long and the continuous jumps how would one avoid getting constant back pain? Do they use lumbar support when riding this long?
+Javier Ruiz I know a couple of guys that wear braces and stuff....personally, I don't wear anything but I try to make sure I maintain proper riding form....if you do that, you use your legs and arms more than anything else.

Depends on the boat greatly. I would say most of them comfortably go 60-70, but can get a little bit faster but it is unsustainable
