It really hits differently whenever I remember the first time I've ever watched HTTYD. I remember my father brought the CD home and I was uninterested at first cuz I saw that it was an animation. But after I watched it I just wanted to watch more of it. That was six years ago, and its a memory that's so far away yet feels like yesterday.

Damn, I don’t remember HTTYD hitting this hard before, but now I’m reminded of the days as a child when this came out. The soundtrack really was something else, and your rendition Samuel is a good nostalgic piece that not only picks up where it left off but amplifies the mood. It’s like aged wine👌
'I looked at him, and I saw myself.' Ahh that was beautiful! HTTYD was my childhood, I started the books when I was around 6 or 7. I watched the first 2 movies when I was around 11, and then the final film recently. I watched Race to the Edge as it came out. It will always have a very special place in my heart.
HTTYD has one of the best soundtracks out there. Today there are a lot of bland "epic" music scores in cinema. I don't want to devalue anything that the musicians do, but something feels different about works like John Williams star wars music, Kung Fu Panda or HTTYD and the newer Avengers theme.
"Excuse me bartender? I'm afraid you've brought me the wrong offspring! I ordered an extra large warrior with huge beefy arms. Extra guts and glory on the side! This here? This is a talking fishbone!" ~Hiccup
yo i saw the shows and wanted to have a dragon called the triple strike from the show race to the edge the last show. i was so mad when rescue riders came ou and i wasn't able to watch anymore httyd after homecoming which i really didn't care for
This trilogy is in a word, phenomenal! Hiccup & Toothless showed a life changing brother-like friendship that saved Berk. Although, I cried hard when they went separate ways in the end. (So heartbreaking that Toothless finally learned to hug; that showed that he was more human throughout the trilogy)😭😭 Hiccup & Astrid are possibly the most cutest animated couple ever. (Loved the wedding scene at the end. And their kids, Zephyr & Nuffink, are a splendid touch. So stunning & beautiful.) 🥰🥰🥰 Hiccups other friends are hilarious at most parts; the situation between Eret & Snotlout reminds me of Thor & Star Lord in Infinity War. Ruffnut & Tuffnut are a tiny bit annoying, but are still funny. And Fishlegs , well, he’s cool too. Especially when he’s a fanboy of dragons. 😆😆😆 And Hiccups parents (Stoick & Valka) were magnificent as well. Gobber was also a hilarious sidekick kind of guy too, but also shows good character in his part. And the ‘Love come loss’ scene was possibly my favorite quote from Stoick. Not a very wise and loving character like Oogway, but still great in his own way.I was also sad at Stoick’s funeral, though. I didn’t stop crying until the baby dragon scene. Valka was alright in the third movie, but I think her performance in the second really stood out; that she was living with dragons for 20 years, missing from Hiccup’s life. ‘For the Dancing & the Dreaming’ was truly something else, too. 😊😊 I also liked the Christmas special (Homecoming). Such beautiful artwork and music. I really liked how they did with Zephyr & Nuffink, character growth wise, and the NightLights-cute. Cute. CUTE!! 😍😍😍 So, basically, How to Train Your Dragon is definitely *the* best animated trilogy by far! And no other franchise can overtop it. This is why I love Dreamworks as a whole. It makes movies not for money...but for *ART* !🎣🌙
The only animated franchise I think compares to httyd is kungfu panda both are equally amazing . Although I've been a toy story fan longer I still think httyd and kungfu panda are better
Hriday Joshi I agree, too. I really loved Kung Fu Panda as much as HTTYD. That trilogy showed valuable lessons about life choices and character change, with a splash of comedy & drama into it. And I pretty much just loved all the main characters (both good and bad). And the color themes match perfectly with the characters; Gold represents heroes and good towards Po, the Furious Five, and Shifu. Blue represents revenge and rage which suited Tai Lung. Red represents power and control which goes well with Lord Shen. Green represents wisdom which, at first, suited Oogway but was later shown differently when Kai took his chi. If I were to do a tier list of my favorite animated movie franchises, How to Train Your Dragon/Kung Fu Panda would be my apex top picks!
My hope is that whoever reads this comment finds lasting serenity and daily happiness. Remember, no matter the obstacle, don't lose heart - you have the strength to overcome it
Once i dreamed, that there were dragons near my house. It Was such a beautiful dream and i was riding toothless. When i woke up in real life i just said "toothless? Come on boy lets fly!" but then i looked Next to me and realised, that everything was just a dream, but i will always believe in real dragons! 😪☺️😉
The part of you that wants to believe in dragons is the same part that turns wrapping paper tubes into lightsabers and that can't help wandering around the house making explosion noises after watching an exciting movie. Hold on to it, it's important.
The part that fuels that can become the fire that burns with a passion. To create. To make your own stories. To make the next thing that spurs on the imaginations of others.
Some days I dream of giant dragons. Dragons of fire and ice. Great fearsome and graceful dragons. But most of all I dream of a dragon that I can look into it’s eyes and see myself. The part of me that only I know, and that I want to see in the dragon of my dreams. I think we all dream of that dragon that is so special and unique to us. Remember that dream, even if it is just a dream.
No doubt Dreamworks I am sorry but they will never have such a fantastic group of movies like How To Train Your Dragon. Dreamworks can be proud of Shrek all they want but nothing hits as hard as How To Train Your Dragon! This Epic version was remarkable my friend well done! I feel so lucky to have grown up seeing these films in theatres. Oh yeah cant forget about Kung Fu Panda also a great trilogy
For some reason this theme, this and the original it’s emulating and based on, more than any other, brings tears to my eyes and I don’t know why. It’s just perfection.
There are many other movies out there but non like this masterpiece. It just takes you into a whole new world of Vikings and dragons coexisting . I know that even you must have shed some tears after watching the third part . The How to train your dragon franchise must have ended but it will always stay in our hearts ♥️ Thank you HTTYD , you will last for a lifetime
This music makes me want to jump off a cliff. In a good way. Like, I'm a dragon and just flying through the skies, or a dragon will catch me. I'm glad it's a melody of multiple themes, it really flashes all the movies you hear the soundtracks in.
This music describes the depression and the happiness of the movie, and the journey that I’ve no we’ve all come through. We thrive to read the next chapter of our lives. As lives fade, lives begin. Some happiness some depression both makes the element of music that we hear today.
I’m in my teens and I would generally not enjoy pg animated movies like HTTYD (Clone Wars being an obvious exception.) but something in HTTYD struck me as different. When I wached the final installment of the trilogy I felt a unidentifiable combination of joy and sadness that makes a pressure on my chest that I can feel whenever I think about it. If a franchise can illicit that much of an emotional response from someone who would deny their emotions (such as a teenager) it definitely deserves recognition. Don’t even get me started on Sam though. He takes this to a new fucking level. In essence, well done.
I swear I’m addicted to epic music like this, from Two Steps From Hell to Pirates of the Caribbean, to the Dragon Age and Skyrim themes, Band of Brothers, Avengers them and beyond over 400 songs playlist. Sheesh
Doubt it, the last movie ended the same way the books did. Not much room for more, though to be fair the movies never followed the books closely anyway.
the first movie will always be the best. It always makes me feel like a kid again watching with wide eyed wonderment as hiccup and toothless bond and become friends and protect each other. Never fails to make me teary eyed and I always just have the sense of fulfillment and warmth at the end even as I go into my twenties now. AND THIS SOUNDTRACK!!! ughh it's pure perfection especially when it's paired up with the flying scene in the first movie. Literal chills every time. Thank you John Powell for this masterpiece
1:55 this part is so unreal. I don't think I've actually heard a better movie theme 😱😱😱😱😱💖💖💖💖💖 I wouldn't be surprised to hear this in Heaven keep making music, Mathias Fritsche/John Powell :)
I just fell in love with this kind of music and I can't get enough of it! The epicness of it is just so... heart-lifting! It's low-key enough to listen to while I'm doing homework but amazing enough to keep me going and listening! Literally the best thing ever! Have you ever done this kind of thing for the Narnia theme? I would totally listen to that even more than this! Good job and thank you!

You're wrong sir it has all the rights to be this good, as it was the childhoods of some of us including mine. Yes it ended, yes we cried, but... Something are meant to end as that's what will make them legends😢
@@Airborn200 You do know I am saying that the series is PHENOMENAL right? I'm just saying that for a kids series it just doe not make sense for it to be this good.
@@keewii4183 yea ik I was just getting a flashflood of memories and got a bit angry when I saw this and also bcz I wanted to see if anyone would even comment back at me XD
I've been asked to do this one alot. Eventually...

Oh my gosh, okay its happening, everybody stay calm

'I looked at him, and I saw myself.'
Ahh that was beautiful! HTTYD was my childhood, I started the books when I was around 6 or 7. I watched the first 2 movies when I was around 11, and then the final film recently. I watched Race to the Edge as it came out. It will always have a very special place in my heart.
Dude how could i possibly be possible that you make this, one of the most epic soundtracks ever, more epic. Incredible
This is much better than any other music I have ever heard. Yours is the best!
Actually, it's just a medley of John Powell's music.
Yes I know but he's just making a little better😊
Leo bro just stop and enjoy the music
I showed this to my friend.
Now he’s a Dragon.
Your friend is lucky
That's rad buddy.
Train him
Ive seen these at Hdsoundi
Do you ride him?
HTTYD has one of the best soundtracks out there.
Today there are a lot of bland "epic" music scores in cinema. I don't want to devalue anything that the musicians do, but something feels different about works like John Williams star wars music, Kung Fu Panda or HTTYD and the newer Avengers theme.
0:36 brings back so many memories from my childhood, you have no idea 😢❤
Whoever wrote this deserves an award.
He deserves to be on the list of famous composers like Beethoven
I had chills the entire way through this. This is one of the most perfect animated trilogies of all time
"Excuse me bartender? I'm afraid you've brought me the wrong offspring! I ordered an extra large warrior with huge beefy arms. Extra guts and glory on the side! This here? This is a talking fishbone!"
~Hiccup
"Now you're think about this all wrong. It's not so much what you look like, it's what's INSIDE that he can't stand."
"Thank you for summing that up."
Not even a whole ten seconds in, and I'm just bawling my eyes out. This movie is one of my favourites next to Rocky. Bravo, Sam! Bravo!
Im Not crying Im a man😭😭😭😢😢😢

ME!
This reminds me of when I was little, I wanted to be a dragon rider so badly
ME TOO!!!!
Who didn't? Aside from furries, who probably wanted to be the dragon instead. Or to be a dragon that rides dragons.
Me too 😂😂...😭
yo i saw the shows and wanted to have a dragon called the triple strike from the show race to the edge the last show. i was so mad when rescue riders came ou and i wasn't able to watch anymore httyd after homecoming which i really didn't care for
Same
This trilogy is in a word, phenomenal!
Hiccup & Toothless showed a life changing brother-like friendship that saved Berk. Although, I cried hard when they went separate ways in the end. (So heartbreaking that Toothless finally learned to hug; that showed that he was more human throughout the trilogy)😭😭
Hiccup & Astrid are possibly the most cutest animated couple ever. (Loved the wedding scene at the end. And their kids, Zephyr & Nuffink, are a splendid touch. So stunning & beautiful.) 🥰🥰🥰
Hiccups other friends are hilarious at most parts; the situation between Eret & Snotlout reminds me of Thor & Star Lord in Infinity War. Ruffnut & Tuffnut are a tiny bit annoying, but are still funny. And Fishlegs , well, he’s cool too. Especially when he’s a fanboy of dragons. 😆😆😆
And Hiccups parents (Stoick & Valka) were magnificent as well. 😊😊
I also liked the Christmas special (Homecoming). Such beautiful artwork and music. I really liked how they did with Zephyr & Nuffink, character growth wise, and the NightLights-cute. Cute. CUTE!! 😍😍😍
So, basically, How to Train Your Dragon is definitely *the* best animated trilogy by far! And no other franchise can overtop it. This is why I love Dreamworks as a whole. It makes movies not for money...but for *ART* !🎣🌙
My opinion on Dreamworks after reading this;
*Respect 100*
All studios should work like that. Not for the cash but for the Art.
My friend: Samuel Kim? I've never heard of him. He's probably not even that good.
Samuel Kim:
Firing squad
The ability to speak does not make him intelligent
It’s treason then
Lazarbeam? Never heard of him, obviously not that famous

2:15 Samuel Kim is probably my favourite musician that recreates anything thats either my childhood or anything ❤❤ Love the amount of work you do
Out of all the amazing movie soundtracks that have ever existed, I never imagined you making an epic version of my childhood. Thanks Sam.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS BUT DEAR GOD I NEEDED IT
AAAAAAAAHH I LOVE THIS SOOO MUCHHHH TY FOR MAKING THIS :D these r one of the few things that make me truly happy :))))
As someone who read the books and watched the movies/series, I get goosebumps every time I listen to this. Thank you.❤🎵🐲
Once i dreamed, that there were dragons near my house.
You guys make Nietzsche look like an amateur. Share the dragon you dreamed of in the comments below! Stay safe and have a nice day, guys
Be an adult when you have to, but be a kid while you can

No doubt Dreamworks I am sorry but they will never have such a fantastic group of movies like How To Train Your Dragon. Dreamworks can be proud of Shrek all they want but nothing hits as hard as How To Train Your Dragon! This Epic version was remarkable my friend well done! I feel so lucky to have grown up seeing these films in theatres. Oh yeah cant forget about Kung Fu Panda also a great trilogy
For some reason this theme, this and the original it’s emulating and based on, more than any other, brings tears to my eyes and I don’t know why. It’s just perfection.
Wow I just caught this video at the right moment. how you all doin?

You're saying it didn't?

Cj Kalandek you haven’t seen the third yet? Nah all the dragons basically get kicked out with love or some other bull
There are many other movies out there but non like this masterpiece. It just takes you into a whole new world of Vikings and dragons coexisting . I know that even you must have shed some tears after watching the third part . The How to train your dragon franchise must have ended but it will always stay in our hearts ♥️
Thank you HTTYD , you will last for a lifetime
Goosebumps throughout
Literal tears and goosebumps at 2:22. How To Train Your Dragon was my childhood and listening to this years later brings back the best memories
This music makes me want to jump off a cliff. In a good way. Like, I'm a dragon and just flying through the skies, or a dragon will catch me. I'm glad it's a melody of multiple themes, it really flashes all the movies you hear the soundtracks in.
I remember playing this song back during my freshmen year at my High School 😭😭😭
Thank you for bringing back my fond memories of these movies

Sheesh
,,I'm not crying It's just raining out there"
This Three Films were the best ever made, i hope there will be a fourth Part in the next years
Doubt it, the last movie ended the same way the books did. Not much room for more, though to be fair the movies never followed the books closely anyway.
@@zsan157 THERE ARE BOOKS?!?!

the first movie will always be the best.

Have you ever done this kind of thing for the Narnia theme? I would totally listen to that even more than this!
Good job and thank you!
