So what I love about HTTYD's test drive is the sheer fact that it massively hits every sense with an emotion of wonder and awe. It makes you have goose bumps. But this version? Dials up the epic sense of the word of epic to 11
Honestly, the piano is actually my favorite addition here. 😅 It sounds simultaneously like a child’s tiny dream before it becomes reality, while also that childlike fear that always accompanies jumping into the unknown. At the very beginning, I can imagine Hiccup’s kids listening to stories about how Vikings used to ride dragons. Then when the drums come in, we see Hiccup & Toothless riding with the acrobatics that come from years of experience, combined with flashbacks of when they first started practicing such complex maneuvers all those years back. When the piano returns at 2:20, Hiccups lands & reaches out to his kids. They want to join in, but are also uncertain. And when the electric guitar comes in, we see the whole family flying together. The final notes at the very end remind us that even if the dragons have gone, their magic stays with us. Loved it! Thanks for your efforts! 🤩

I love watching the how to train your dragon trilogy and it warms my heart when hiccup and toothless are on screen doing the iconic flight scene and i truly dropped a tear when stoic sadly passed and THAT IS HOW YOU ALL TRULY HAVE A DRAGON'S LOYALTY

I like the fact that you concentrated more on the main theme (main phrase), the original uses the orchestra perfectly to support a visual piece of art, but you've made this one more catchy to the ear by repeating and concentrating more on that epic phrase. Congrats.
When it comes to covers for Test Drive, I always have high expectations dur to by bias towards this song and the entire franchise. Glad to say you did the original song proud :D
Absolutely love it. I do think there might be a slight "buzz" or rattle sound tho. Can definitely hear it at like 1:35. I heard it first and thought my ear buds were busted. Played the song again at my PC for work time and I heard the "buzz" again. I'm assuming what I'm hearing is not intended to be in the final track. But again, love this version and all the work I've heard from you so far. Keep it up!
I think you are referring to instrumentals he is using in the bass. I'm guessing it could be some sort of trumpet that is making that buzz sound you are referring too. I could be wrong.
So i was going through a very rough time. And while i was struggling for a long time to get desired results in coding. I was listening to this song and somehow i ended up finally achieving the result i wanted. I cannot ask for anything better 😭. I was literally crying man. Tears started flowing down my eyes. I wanted to cry more. Unfortunately dad came to check in on me. And i told him that my eyes are wet because of coding stress LoL. But yeah if you listen to this song after finally achieving a positive result during tough times. It will boost your morale 100x . Definitely a masterpiece 💪🏼
I love the low brass at 1:31 and how it's powerful. I played trombone and played this at my high school graduation in my freshman year. This movie and Test Drive was so iconic and beautiful but for some reason I have never watched How To Train Your Dragon. I got the courage to watch it on my laptop, and the scene where Toothless and Hiccup were flying and trying to get in control, and when I heard the song I almost started to cry. It was so amazing and after watching the movie I had to say it was definitely my favorite movie.
