i JUST cried to my mom this morning over stress from college and wanting more time to focus on my design job i already have and getting my beadwork jewelry business going. it’s so weird how normalized our stress and anxiety is to upkeep things that don’t satisfy us. i so badly want to beat the system. i was definitely meant to hear this message today.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:
    “Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
    And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
    the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;

My boyfriend and I were talking yesterday about how neither of us ever want to go back to a 9-5 and would rather do something that will benefit ourselves and our community. I think my only problem is I don’t know what I want to do. Like I’m 24 and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I had this mentality when I was a child. I never wanted to work a job just to retire at 65. I didn’t see the point of waiting until you’re almost 70 to really start living. (Yeah, I was a kid who was way beyond her years.) I never wanted to do what I saw everyone else doing. And yet, when I became an adult, I fell right in step with the very way of life I so despised. You’ve awakened this childhood dream of mine. I am officially woke and I am never going back to sleep.
Time to turn this dream into a reality!!!!! Time for all of us to leave this decrepit archaic system behind and forge into new territory. I think you are starting a movement for this generation! And I am totally on board!

Yes! My father would come home and complain about work and I remember thinking to myself “well, I don’t want to be like that!” I had a handful of very short-term part-time jobs and worked hard in Los Angeles as a background actor and stand-in (super long days but you can somewhat choose what days you want to work and take a vacation whenever you want, if you can afford it) before finally working online (and working in film when I could) and although the stress is still there about rent and bills, the freedom is great! I keep trying to help my friends and boyfriend(s) find their own way but so many people even after seeing what’s possible still say “well, that’s not normal, not everybody can do that, if I want money I need to get a full-time job.” People can be very brainwashed! I’m so grateful for the internet, I don’t know what I would be doing without it. 🤣

@@kendalbrenneman I’m glad you didn’t lose sight of your goal! It’s so easy to do when you’re swept up into adulthood.
I recently had an ice breaker at work via Zoom. We all said what we saw ourselves doing 10 years from now. Everyone, and I mean everyone, said that they’d be retired, close to retirement, or still working at the job with the hope of retiring in the distant future. I was baffled at their lack of vision, drive, and goals. I felt so sad for them and angry at the same time.
On the other hand, I said that I’d be freelancing so I could travel and still earn money from anywhere. I also said that I’d be living my life to enjoy my passions. Now that I’m woke, I can’t imagine life any other way. I wish you much success as you live out life on your terms!!!

@@NateshasAmbience Oh gosh, yes, I can't even relate to people who talk about retirement! My dream was to be an actress, and never retire until I couldn't work anymore. I still want to act, though I feel a bit stuck there at the moment. But there are other things I can work on until then! But the idea of putting off the things you want to do for the distant future, counting down the time... I just want to enjoy what I do, and do it for as long as I want, and have the freedom to enjoy life NOW, and not hope that I don't die before "later" arrives. Besides, not having a 'normal' job, I don't have a retirement fund or pension or anything, so to actually "retire" in that way isn't even an option. :-P

Lynette, this is the type of content we need more of in this world. We have normalized a standard of living that never truly allows us to live. And when we shirk that standard, we get punished, ie no money to have any comfort and being burdens to others. We won't even get into how we are treated at work for subpar pay. The best way I've seen out is to work in service for yourself until you can make a living, which takes out some authentic creativity, but there isn't really an alternative. Make your hobbies your livelihood.

The thing about "just doing whatever you want to do" for me, would be: Are you sure about that doing what you want to do doesn't come from a place of trauma? From a place of ego? Or does come from your core, from your soul, from your heart. I had this mentality of just go and do it, until I realize the main motivation for doing so many of those things were based on an abundance wound or an abandonment wound. I really think we really need to be aware of the why that moves us, because I believe that's truly what makes the difference on being able to keep on the right track for us. We value action so much and I think that we really aren't fully understanding the value and need that we also have as humans for stillness, because being still it's the only way to walk the path inside. Because sure, you can help others to "level up" in life, but what if they are leveling up to get into another trap? Everyone is entitled to take their choices, but sometimes the path to hell is paved by good intentions. I think that if we normalize reflection and inner work as mandatory before making any choices, the world would truly start changing from the inside of each one of us. The decisions you make once you are connected to your true essence are way different (and I truly believe even more creative) than the ones you take out of pure reaction from the mind and our identities. One of capitalism's traps is definitely to keep us in a hurry, that's something important we definitely need to start fighting also.

I was able to make ends meet, but I knew there was something I was missing. I wasn’t able to do what I enjoyed, be around others who I felt connected to, etc. I sold my house and ended up moving into van. My intention was to release. Codependency cycles, but it took a major turn. I realized the more reverence I have towards all of life, healing, sacrificing material objects to experience the flow of life. When I surrendered to that reality I’ve met strangers who always blessed me money when I needed it. Now I follow what I love and keep giving to all of life and it gives back. Everything we love is on the other side of fear. Whatever you have felt called to in your heart, go. I promise it will be worth it 💛

Yes, this is so important. The world got this way because it is what was collectively agreed upon by the people, but times are changing, people are becoming free thinkers, we have access to endless information. Society beat us down with their limiting beliefs but it's up to us to take back our power! Like you said, there's an abundance of resources, wealth, and opportunities for us all and it's so unfortunate that the world has been overcome by greed to this point. Life could have been ANYTHING, and it became this. We have to recognize that this is the world we live in, and we have to play the game in order to win.

Omg thank you for this video. This is exactly what I was thinking about the past weeks. Use my privilege and all the resources to help others. Maybe be a bit selfish in my next years and work hard for my own dream, so I multiply my money and people that listen to me so after that I can share all my resources and money and ideas with others! I also think to crash the system doesn’t matter if the financial or political or educational system, you have to be as high as the people that make the rules in the system but then not be like them and sit quietly on your own ass and eat you own money and let other people work for you, but to help other people up there. Help that other voices get heard. That other people get the same access as I do. Empower them to being able to change something. And i love that. And I am so glad I have found this video. Thank you ❤️

“We live in a world where it’s normal to be selfish” this is so true, and so sad that I really don’t think there’s enough of us who question this or see that it’s wrong, or genuinely care to make a change. We just accept things for the way they are. We lack vision for how things could be different. Thank you for putting this out there because it’s inspiring me to build wealth not just for myself as we’re conditioned to, but to be able to be more generous to help others too.

I just *can't* fake the happiness for 8-12 hours a day anymore. I'm so hard-working and motivated and passionate, but that just dies instantly at every job I hate. Loving what you do is the only way to sustain motivation, forever. I have this infinite reservoir of creative energy when I love something. I'm on an extended vacay in my homeland to find my purpose and passion again, and it's working. 😁🏝🇵🇷 I don't wanna be a bum forever... I just haven't felt this good about life since I was a child. I'm 28. I'm TIRED of being tired.
I feel alive today. I am more inspired to create and "do" and *live* than I've ever been. The self-care (physical/mental/emotional/spiritual/allat) is WORKING, honeyyyy! I loved this video. I think one of the main problems is also more practical: taxes. Once you're financially considered rich, in order to stay that way you have to meet a standard, the richer you are the fewer taxes you pay. Rich people mostly do donations to avoid taxes and I think this is also one of the reasons why they don't like to invest in something that it's no profitable for them (let's say not big associations etc.). It's a system that sucks and I hate that the world has normalized this so I really believe that knowledge and this awareness newer generations have can make society do small but steady steps towards a better world. It's a long process but I think that keeping a positive mindset and believing that there is a way out is still better than giving up and gives you enough strength to keep going. It also really helps seeing people making it and being open to talking about their experience without keeping some kind of secret to themselves but encouraging others to do the same. It's important that people who have a platform talk about this so I really appreciate you for doing that.

It's so crazy to me the things rich people do to avoid taxes, like it's pure greed. I just came across your channel and I want to start off by saying that I love that you are using your platform to have this conversation and I think that you speak with so much clarity that it is easy to fully understand exactly your point of view and where you are coming from ! I think that its super important for everyone to recognize their position of privilege because it allows you to take a step back and really consider the state of our reality and how our current economic system and way of working is not in most individual’s best interest. Whenever I talk about this topic I often get someone who calls me privileged or selfish for having the opinion that I do, but I think that being in a place of privilege is exactly why it is our responsibility to speak out !! A quote I really like by Harari says that “most of us can’t afford the luxury of investigating” and its for this exact reason why those of us who can should use our position to investigate and question the status quo. Also one last thing, the Ted Talk by Rick Warren called a life of purpose really goes deeply into the idea of doing what you can with what you have and so I definitely recommend that if you have listened to it already!

I’m so glad that some younger people are finding ways to talk about and plan their escape from this oppressive system. I’ve felt the wrongness of it since I was a small child. I think many young children recognize that something is profoundly wrong with this system, even before they can cognitively understand the existence of a system at all. Questions like, “why do we have to have money”, “why don’t we just give the poor people what they need”, “why do we need school”, “why do you have to go to work all the time [mommy/daddy]”, are ubiquitous to childhood. I vividly recall the answers to those questions when my brothers and I asked them, they all basically boiled down to: you just don’t understand, and, it’s not that simple. But it is.
As an older person, who is still trying to figure out how to live outside the matrix of bondage [to enrichment of a few], I’ve been extremely concerned and distressed by the rising sense of futility and anxiety among young people in my world. I grew up during the 70s, so I’ve seen young people express discontentment with the civilization they found themselves in! This is different, now. I want so much to help the younger ones feel a sense of possibility and fire, but I’m struggling with that, myself. I think we are genuinely in a collapsing civilization, and we all feel that in various ways. The old stories about what is important, and what humanity is and can be, are collapsing around us. We haven’t created the new ones yet, but you can definitely see them starting to sprout in people. They’re profoundly influenced still by the old ones. They won’t always be, I don’t think. Change is inevitable. It’s hard to live through, and hard to understand while it’s in process. Channels like this one are helping to plant the seeds of change, I think. Who knows what will grow out of your work?

    - create expenses list
    - dont spend your money on dumb stuff (netflix, starbucks, etc)
    - (optional but helpful) create different bank accounts for different stuff (e.g. expenses, investments, etc.)
    - find your purpose and create value for others
    - treat your time as money (its more valuable)
    - spend 30mins to 1h daily on personal development (read books, watch videos etc)
    - get rid off all negative habits and patterns and replace them with positive ones

Something I think about a lot is how workers and students cannot film. Even in retail, there are so many rules that discourage social media-even off the clock. I also think that if universities were treated like public schools, then college students wouldn’t be able to film on campus, and then we would be missing a huge portion of UA-camrs.
The realization that UA-camrs can make money was such a huge turning point for me. Sometimes I think about the dark side of things, like the censorship on UA-cam being a reminder that having a channel with substantial subscribers is still just working for a corporation and needing to follow all of its rules.
I’m so grateful to have a place to share these thoughts.

I’ve never wanted to grow up because I’ve seen how messed up the system is, and now I’m older and living this nightmare, and have been asking myself the same question- how can I change this? And yes, I think playing the game for now is the only way I could think of, play the game but work on making money from other things I enjoy in the side, and just pray they lead to my main income source, and then just be ready for when someone with power is ready to speak up for the masses and create a new system, and then give them my support, whether that is protesting or whatever. I really wonder too how many of us spend our 9-5 day jobs not being productive. I really don’t think we need 8 hour work days when we have so many technologies in today’s world. I’ve told myself that if I ever become an entrepreneur and have to hire employees, they will get treated fairly, work less hours, get paid more, and get more vacation days. I hope this system changes soon, so many people I know are miserable and have loads of college debt, and we have to pay it off at our dumb jobs that don’t make us feel purposeful and powerful. Thinking of everyone is this situation ♥️

In your exact situation now.. I’m old and want out and have no idea how or where to start. Or what to tell my boys. Over thinking it is getting very depressing though. Lol

Yesss I feel you so much! I never get how my parents look at me crazy when I say I don’t want to go back to a 9-5 job that I hate. Or they find it strange that our generations can make money in these non traditional ways and that I would want to do that. My dads always like but what about your retirement lol but I feel you. I’m down, Thanks for making the vid!

There's been such a huge shift in recent generations on the way we view these things, it's crazy! We all deserve happiness now, no need to wait until retirement!

Let’s not forget the fact that you’d still be worried about retirement even in a 9-5 because companies never give pensions anymore. Everything is a 401k this and 401k that

@@LynetteAdkins I found that most people who say they are retired,, really were never retired at all,,they were just living off of the inheritance of another relative passed down....I always wondered how they could retire so early in their 30's...and now I figured out why

YES!!!!! SAW THIS AT 444 COMMENTS. IM ON THE SAME BOAT. im trying to quit my 8-5 job to focus 100% on my business. i really want to become so successful to become a business coach for women to assist them with pursing their dreams. It is SO true its time to STOP being selfish and help spread abundance because everyone CAN WIN. Abundance is infinite. Putting someone on does NOT take away from your own blessings.

girl i just found you recently and likewise, for the past couple months i've really been putting my foot down on myself about leveling up my mindset, lifestyle, and habits so that i can truly evolve into the person i want to be and i just want to say thank you. during my meditation's i've been asking the universe to show me towards like minded individuals that'll help me level up and grow and really manifest my dream life and i know it was no coincidence that i found your yt videos, even before discovering your tiktok (absolutely in loooove with your content and style btw🥺💜) i kid you not EVERY video i've seen of yours has deadass resonated and inspired me on entirely different soul level. know that i see you, the universe sees you and is quite literally speaking through you to me and the thousands of others that watch your videos. thank you fr. love always ❤️

Your videos are great! I've shared them with friends because I want them to feel understood. Most of us complain to each other a lot about how corporations are taking advantage of others, mostly managers and supervisors are really the culprit of this fear-based mentality you spoke about. Hope your channel grows faster every day!

    Hi Lynette,
I beat this GAME! And my personal goal is to help others do the same! I want to help people break out of these limits and barriers we have set for ourselves based on the "expectations" society has of you based on your family, community, culture, or prescribed identity. Keep putting this energy out there! I would love to connect and continue these conversations. I love building a network to support this idea of moving through this world more authentically in the midst of all of this noise!

Had to come back to this video and say that I resonated with everything that you said! I love to dance want to model and everyday I get up and sit at this desk to clock in for work I cry because I hate it so much and have plenty of times thought about just up and walking away..no two weeks notice or nothing but what scares me, like everyone, the thought of not having anything to pay bills and have necessities

Please do more of these kinds of videos. I truly feel so heard by you because you put all these different thoughts that I also struggle with into words and put them in perspective. So valuable!!🙏🏻

Thank you!! This is what people need to hear. I started working when I was 16 thinking that I could somehow save enough for college, and then I could “get a good job and be set for life.” No one in my family had ever talked about college but it was brought up in school so often that I thought I needed to go. By the time I was 18 I had only been able to save $2000 lol which was enough for one quarter at community college. I realized that without generational wealth, I was stuck working at jobs I hated just to live. I’m 22 now and after 6 years of working in food service I feel like that time has been wasted doing something I didn’t enjoy and that I literally had no choice but to do. It’s soul crushing

I feel truly like many of us will “play the game” and really become role models for others and show people they can break out. Then I feel it will be come more normalized and we won’t be playing a game anymore . At one point it won’t be so polarized. Amazing video thank you for starting this discussion!

Such a big fan of this channel and been sending videos to my friend. A lot of new things are happening for me and I am trying to manifest my goals and a positive and fulfilling lifestyle. We all deserve to live prosperous and amazing lives. It just starts with really asking yourself what you want from life and then planting the seeds that you can get there. It has taken me so long to get to this place in my life and I am so happy I found this channel. Thank you for these inspiring videos, I love how real, honest and transparent you are. You are helping so many people open their eyes and focus on what is important in life!

My whole life my family instilled in me that I had to know what I want to do in life. They say, what’s your dream job and what do you want to major in and I would say I don’t know. All I know is that I love helping people and I like to vacation. Still, years later I feel the same way. I’m just now realizing that it’s ok to not want to have a dream job because my dream job is to not to work at all and that’s ok. 😂
Eventually I maybe will find out what I want to do. I have a inkling that it may be writing. If I do ever write I want to write to help people while vacationing on my villa. That in itself is ok. I don’t want to stress about life all day. Jobs, cars, all that will still be there. Family doesn’t last forever. Being next to my son and vacationing with him and knowing that I helped some people that week is my happy place.

people like you give me hope, for the longest time I always thought this way and fought with people who saw me as crazy for thinking this way. I want more so I can give more, that's how we should work and give opportunities to those who don't have a such luxuries, thank you.
