    What is "Reactabait"?
"Any video, usually music, which is often requested for reactions on "reaction" channels. "Reactabait" is a video which usually involves something which takes the listener or viewer by surprise, eliciting a 'reaction' which fans want to see."
Reactabait is a tongue in cheek term to call out the phenomenon of reaction channels and how many operate, whilst personally operating in the same way in this instance.

Oh wow. I loved that you actually took the time to analyze this. Most people just laugh at the video and get surprised by the metal (which is fun to watch too), but I think you are the first one I see actually getting into how the manage to tie this all together.
Cause even tho their videos are comical their music is actually well put together and thought out.
Thanks! And I agree, it's a shame they didn't get to go to Eurovision

Thank you 😊 yeh, I do want to offer a little more than just faces! There was so much more to look at with this, but things just flood to my head when first watching it, they end up coming out in rambles so I need to edit it so it makes sense as much as possible 😆

What simple complexity! I mean, taking one riff and being able to layer it in so many different ways is immensely impressive

  • @sean_mccadden
    @sean_mccadden 2 роки тому +25

Damn this song was so much smarter than I thought it was. The way they just slightly change the melody from the intro/chorus to adding in chromatic, slightly disonant notes and more syncopated rhythms in the verse (heavy parts) while keeping the main foundation of the intro riff and then switching to a major key version of the intro riff in the bridge. I honestly never noticed things before until you pointed them out and it makes so much more sense how all these parts flow into each other so well even though it stylistically changes drastically!

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeh it’s crazy how they can have such seemingly different sections but still keep it subliminally cohesive. And it’s so bloody catchy too 🤦‍♂️ thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment thanks 😊

@@TheMuserResolute This is what happens when German musicians get bored during lockdown, there you go:
EDM version - Remix by Gestört Aber Geil
(Synth-)Pop version - EC feat. Sasha
      (Emo-Rock-)Ballad - Axel One
      German-Hip Hop version - 257ers (feat. EC)
Country version - EC feat. The BossHoss
Folk Metal version - Saltatio Mortis
Death Metal version - We Butter The Bread With Butter (WBTBWB)
The EDM-Remix is good for what it is but definately not "reactabait" as it suffers from a genre standard video clip, the covers by Saltatio Mortis and WBTBWB are the fan-favourites but reactions seem to get blocked quite often.

    NW Army Bavaria reporting in
Thx for the Reaction, and foremost the Analisys. i dont think you hear it before. Your Skills to analyse an Pitch, Buildup, and Timeswitches let you forecast most Things exactly.
Is it an reactbaoit? sure, why not. In the end, its an Fun Song, which is easy to adapt, positive Ground Feeling, and special in this Time, why not some uplifting, easy to Catch Crossover, very good( not extraordinary or else) instrumented and transitioned and sung( german roots, always doing some at least serious:)). They not only got friendly reactions, and from State Radio in Germany, they are more ore less ignored and even an Eurovision Contest Issue is boiling actually.( just got it, you mentioned it) They did Cobvers with some other Local hereos in Germany, one more Diverse like the Other, but all of them entertaining. On top most got an making of, which would brake any TikTok Challenge not to smile. And, by the Way, all free to watch on YT, ofc they arent loved by the Music Industry for that.

-Shameless plug for other good metalcore that Spotify recommended while I was on an Eskimo Callboy Bender: "Choke" or "Cannibal" by Bury Tomorrow. They have a serious tone, unlike EC, but their mix of deathcore and clean vocals with catchy melodic sections is really neat and very cathartic.

    Nice analysis, as ever.
A suggestion for a new Band to hear: "Dirty Loops"
"Dirty Loops" is musically on the "opposite" side of Eskimo Callboy, they make Fusion Jazz combined with Pop.
The Core of the swedish Band consist of three young Guys, playing bass, drums and keyboards. At three vitisted the Södra Latin high school in Stockholm. A school which is known for a superb musical education. After finishing high school, they all studied at the swedish Royal College for Music. Expect that they are very good in thier craftmanship.
A good intro for hearing only the three, is the older "Work Shit Out". But every piece is fine.
An actual track from last year, with horns and guitar (Cory Wong) added, is the "Follow The Light". Try this, you will not be disappointed😊.
