Wow, that makes a lot of sense! I watched TankThe Techs reaction to the song and he compared the breakdown to Landmarks - Lost in a Wave, and it always sounded the same to me. He himself said that it probably has not been ripped of, because there are only so many notes you can play. I always assumed it was some kind of parallel thinking, but your analysis showed the breakdown in pump it was a natural progression of the song, which really blew my mind. Maybe you could show the differences between the two songs, it would be really cool to hear from a music teachers perspective!
They were the fan favorite to be participant and eventually, Germany’s representative this year. But they rejected them. I’m so glad that Germany placed last (again), they deserve it for rejecting them! Stup!d 50 yo juries they have, when the main public of eurovision are like 18 to 35 🙄. Just ridiculous!
Oh I will forever be bitter about them being rejected for eurovision but on the other hand - eurovision doesn't deserve them actually. Their loss lol We'll continue to get zero to a handful of points year after year and electric callboy will continue to thrive on their own and we get to enjoy them no matter what so... Thanks for the video! This randomly came up in my recommended and was exactly what I needed tonight ☺️
I don't know why suddenly I've had a bunch of your reactions come up but it's like having a block of chocolate you forgot about in the cupboard & it's like "oh yay! Binge time!" Oh & yes the weight guitar is real! Good to see you back again ☺️
I know this is an old reaction but you've earned a sub - this is such fun analysis to explain how and why a song works. Weiter so! Greetings from Germany.
They did this live on their recent tour and a bunch of European festivals over the summer, and have some videos on their channel. Looks like an absolute blast.
Electric Callboy are a band I only discovered via ESC 2023 when Käärijä was compared to them purely because of the similarity of the haircuts between him and the "We Got the Moves" wigs from EC.
Well, that was interesting 😳 I loved it!!! Great reactionalysis!!! As hard as it was for my brain to accept that growl with the aerobic class 🤣 I absolutely loved the song and your breakdown of the instrumentation, as always!!! I’m so glad you’re back!!!! Thank you for this!!! I hope you have a great weekend!!! 💞
Yeah, this year the german delegation worked together with some radiostations and "pump it" wasn't radiofriendly enough for them. Also the second one in the competition "we got the moves" wasn't radiofriendly in their minds (check it also, it's awesome!). Fun Fact: also Maliks "Rockstar" was a problem for the radiostations in the beginning and they only played a version without the rap-part on radio... Ps: You are right, they have changed their name, which they had for many years, after learning that eskimo is a racist term in many countries.
Thanks for this explanation! I was a little taken aback that they had Eskimo in their name in the first place tbh but then didn’t give it a second thought.
@@TheMuserResolute Well the "Jury" was a bunch public broadcasting functionaries from the "Northern German PBS"...Most people think that they purposefully chose losers, so they don't have to fund the show , should Germany win.
Man, I love music. Your breakdowns are awesome. Esk.... Elecric Callboy has been my favourite discovery over the past year. I love it when skilled musicians just try out interesting and weird stuff. They just released a new one this week (Hurrikan), I won't spoil anything but it's pretty fun. On another, completely unrelated note: check out Morissette Amon - "Akin Ka Na Lang" on the Wish Bus if you haven't heard of her before. Incredible talent and so much heart in her performances.
Answering in one simple sentence: *German delegation sucks!* I hope next time there will be a major shitstorm to put them under pressure to get EC into ESC ;)
Funny how Germans thought this was not schlager enough for radio. And only time Finland won was quite a heavy song. Must be because we have everything on radio including deathcore and very heavy metal.
German radio stations and the hosting tv channel NDR dont want to win as they fear the costs. Pump it would have easily gone top5 (depending on jury maybe higher). They might have not won due to Ukraine, but that would have meant hosting it anyway when coming in 2nd.
The explanation for their decision was that the song wasn't "radio friendly" enough - which is bloody stupid considering that Germany is more or less the only country that does not have a radio station that plays metal and that it is important to get points from other countries, not Germany.
For me ... the most useful reacter to Elec/EskiCallboy ... A golden bazzer for him ... Please pleasepleasepleaseplease.... All eski/electricCallboy songs and all from Rammstein ... Pleaseeeeeeeplplplpleeeeeaaaassseeee
Amazing reaction my friend Mike!!...I have seen your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world (In my personal opinion)...Now I want to invite you to meet, who is considered like The Fourth Element of All Time Vocal Trinity (with Whitney, Mariah and Celine) and one of the Best Female Singers of the World...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess: Lara Fabian...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control...She speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on UA-cam made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Julie Anne San Jose, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html

I did listen with an open mind The headbands remind me of Olivia Newton John's Video from the 80s It seemed like a pounding noise and a guy screaming and I am so tired of having a sexualized display of body parts. For me, it was just a horrible noise. I also listened to you until the end😊
I’m guessing you’re talking about all the muscles being constantly being displayed as the sexualisation, because honestly it doesn’t affect me that much anymore.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
The release date of that New Album can't come fast enough !!!!!!
I need this Album on my turntable 🤩.
It was rejected because it could not have been payed on radio for some reason I don't get it
I think the reason is, old people have no sense of humor.
Aaaand maybe a tiny bit because of the -Just f'ing kill that b'ch- line. 😁
There is line about "making it your life goal to fucking kill that bitch" . It could have been properly censored to allow for it though.
Radio in Germany is soft... more Pop.... not to energetic... more for old people... no metal or techno... no breackdowns...
German Jury is a bunch of "*enter every Insult*"!
