GUYS I PAID OFF MY CAR LOAN TODAY!!!! It took hard work and discipline but this channel helped a lot reminding me regularly to watch my spending so I could pay my car off IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS
Habits are hard. I used to stop at the gas station for sweet treats every day. For over a year now, I've been taking my own container of tea and I bake brownies once every two weeks. For about $3, I can have a frozen brownie every night for two weeks. Tea is almost free- 100 tea bags is $2.50. It's literally saved me 100s of dollars a month. Changing habits is hard, but worth it.
Yes! And it's easier to adjust to similar habits. I buy a case of sparkling waters and a huge bag of kettle corn at Costo, and enjoy those in my car after work so I don't stop for sweet treats. Less than a $1/day as opposed to $5/day. :)
Caleb, I'd love to see more people on the show who ARE more financially aware and they do bring in good incomes but want to get to the next level. Like people who score like a 6/10 but want to be 10/10

Hey Caleb, Just wanted to tell you. I am from Germany and whilst i never really got into debt i also were not a good safer. I work in hospitality for over a decade and always wanted to open up my own place. I couldn´t because a lot of times the proposed credit was so bad that the calculations didn´t make sense. But i found your channel a year ago and it started a fire under my A** to actually safe for it and work towards my goal. Because of my changed spending habits i was able to put quite a few bucks to the side and got a silent partner to open up my own place with no credit. I know you cater towards Americans but i just wanted to tell you that your mentality even helped me, a guy in a completely different country, to come closer to my dream. Thanks Buddy!
Amazing story international buddy! I am too from out of the US, Costa Rica specifically. Caleb's guidance and transparency is also helping me straighten up my situation. It's very inspiring, I know it's impossible to adapt their formula to other countries, as job markets, incomes and overall economies are way different everywhere, although the savings and debt-kill methods are pretty much the same, I hope in the future we get to see some international financial audit.
I lived with my boyfriend for 5 years and we split all the bills while I was getting my Master and Ph.D. He made more money than me and usually paid more than I did. Thankfully I knew everything we were paying for and kept track. In 2020 before starting the 3rd years of my PhD, he was killed in a car accident and I was alone with all the bills. I had to sacrifice a lot and I cannot pretend I didn’t use credit cards/student loans but having the mentality that the man will take care of everything is risky because one day they will be there, then the next they are gone. And if it matters-I didn’t give up, graduated in Dec of 2023 and I am on track to have all my credit card debt paid off and at least 4 months of emergency fund in High yield savings by Jan 2025. I have learned A LOT from your videos and it has really helped with my financial independence.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Good on you to stay dialed in on the finances while he was here, too many partners get blindsided in these tragic circumstances.
Caleb’s perfect call out - she not a victim, she’s a victim of her own lack of responsibility. This woman is not going anywhere. Yes, she admit that she has a spending problem but she doesn’t care, she think she’s owed everything without any sacrifice
These people tend to realize their mistakes around year 45-55 when they're staring down the barrel of retirement and have the unpleasant realization that they're going to have to work until they're 75.
I think its important to note that she says she is bad with money, not that she has a spending problem. if she called it a spending problem then it would be something to fix, but by saying shes bad with money she’s making it a personality trait instead. “I can’t help it, its just who I am”.
Just so everyone is aware the requirements to become a pharmacy technician is have a high-school diploma, be 18 or older, and pass the PTCE which has a 70% pass rate. Just wanted to shed light on that because she used it as an example as to why she was "determined"
THAT'S WHAT I COMMENTED like I'd you want to be a trad wife, you have do the trad wife stuff!!! And I could never, the trad wife work is long and exhausting and running a household is SO much work. But she's not??
If you’re willing to finance a $25k plus car, but not spend $500 for an inspection on a 5-8k used car, then I’m sorry - in my eyes you’re not allowed to “inherit” a luxury like a single family home. That makes zero sense in any financial situation.
She never says why she should get money from her boyfriend. She didnt say she was a housewife, she didnt say she cooked or cleaned the house or take care of the kids. She just wanted money for being in a relationship, and parents and her boyfriend getting a house for her ?? Gross
Not to mention the way she VIEWS these people who are doing so much for her. “Well he’s a man and im a woman so my boyfriend SHOULD be giving me money” as if it’s his job and she deserves money for existing. “Well it’s my parents house buts it’s practically mine because when they die it goes to me”, literally only views things and people as what she can GAIN from them
I know so many people like this. I have a friend with a very large home on a lot of property. Her son is convinced that he’s going to get the house, my friend and her spouse have tried to explain to him that they’ll need to sell this house to buy something smaller, more suitable for them when they get older. Many people sell the too large family home so they can go into “care” or just get a house that they can keep clean!
Unless, heaven forbid, it has to be sold to pay for long-term care for one or both of the parents. Nothing is promised. I was her age when my mother passed away and 10 years earlier, my father passed away. Long-term care today is about $70,000 a month. Time to grow up.
THANK YOU CALEB!! You have made me more aware of my BS spending and now I have started to go line by line on my own bank statements to really think - did I need that?

"A man should take care of a woman... in certain things" This isn't independence or having traditional values, this is just immaturity and entitlement You can't CHERRY PICK traditional values. You can't say you're an independent adult and also want a man to take care of your finances. That's not a partner, that's a child.
She just wants a partner that will pay for her and she says it's because he's the man. Nah. Even if she was gay she would have a partner finance her, she would just call it something else. She's a narcissistic user, plain and simple.
Exactly! My husband takes care of me in ways and I take care of him in ways. A relationship is about taking care of each other and so many modern women have the view of " I want a man who makes x-amount a year, is 6ft2in, well dresses, has a nice car, nice house and will buy me anything I want" while also not bringing anything to the table and it's sad.

It’s wild to me how few people make their own food at home. Maybe I’m just a gourmet chef over here but restaurant food tastes like garbage compared to home cooked food. It’s more expensive (not by much now days, though) and the portion sizes are small.
This!! I make myself “poor man’s carbonara” cost of groceries used per meal is about $1.50 and that’s overestimating the price of amount of butter/oil/minced garlic used.
People spend way too much on food these days (I’m guilty myself at times), so I like how aggressively he points it out. Granted, inflation has made things harder, but there are still cheaper alternatives available.
The fact that she didn’t have anything close to a good idea of how much she spent is crazy. Like how can someone go out while sober and spend money and at the end of the month not able to correctly answer what they bought
@@iosgaming2824 It's pretty easy, honestly. I've been guilty of it in the past myself. You write off the little transactions, so in your brain they're $0 not $5. A lot of $5 transactions can ruin you, but a lot of $0 transactions are nothing. At the end of the month your daily coffee has cost you $150 but you think that money just disappeared. It's why I think most people would benefit from having something like YNAB that forces you to sort/acknowledge your transactions. If nothing else, it shows you "hey you're spending $400 a month on fast food". I didn't even have to set specific goals to drop my spending, just being aware of it made me spend less.
Thanks to these episodes, I paid off all my credit card debt and a consolidation loan, put $3k towards my wife’s student loans, and put $2k in a Sofi account in the span of 45 days. I was the behavioral issue, spending because I had it with no back up. While I didn’t miss or not make payments on things, I was living paycheck to paycheck due to reckless spending. The tempo of the conversation and the whole interview is wildly fast and long. Probably being in front of camera and all of that can be draining. She thinks she IS the prize. She doesn’t need to do anything to earn or deserve his affection (and money). He should give her money for gracing him with her presences.
My mom, too, loves her dealership. They’ve rolled over debt after debt after debt into new vehicles. She took me there before I knew better and I signed up for a 16k loan on a car with almost 10% interest. The car was only worth about 5k at most. Luckily, it’s paid off now but it still makes me cringe to think about what a waste of money it was. She still thinks that car salesman is just a swell guy. I almost had the good sense to say no but he continued to pressure me with tactics like “you make so much money,” “people sign up for $1000/mo car payments and make less than you.” So slimy. I was devastated for months after getting myself in that situation.
Debt: not her fault Late payments: not her fault Medical debt: not her fault (despite bad lifestyle leading to the Type 2 Diabetes) Everything else: boyfriends responsibility What a brat.
Caleb: "I think you can prepare $500 in 6 months" Amanda: "You think I can save $10,000 in 6 months?" For someone so defensive and argumentative, she sure can't keep track of what she's defending and arguing.
You are a saint, sir. It doesn't look like it, but you show so much compassion and patience with adult children like this. Her behavior is unbelievably immature for her age. I gave up on her about 50 times during this conversation, but you fought tooth and nail to make a positive impression on her delusional worldview. "Why are you here?" Guest: "Because you help people." Also Guest: Drops every excuse in the book, intense eye roll after each point of issue explained, and gets instantly frustrated when you can't understand their train of thought. Why are people like this.
She's on the show because she thinks he can help? WTF do ya think this is, miss? _(I'm speaking to the guest.)_ A therapy session, and you think Caleb is there to hold your hand and reassure you that "everything is gonna be all right"? THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS SHOW IS ABOUT!!!! Yes, he _is_ there to help you, but he will only point the way and he will not take you there. The rest is up to you.
To the boyfriend: please leave her you don’t need this waste of person hold you back she’s a waste of time. Trust me I married someone like this and at the end of the marriage she said I never did anything for her
24:25 Hell, even if you "need" your Red Bull daily and decide that's your treat... buy a case of it from the grocery store instead of buying one at a time from a gas station. Yes, it's still a frivolous purchase but at least it's more economical than a bloody gas station!
Soda Stream has a red bull version. It's not the same same as Red Bull, but when my Mr drank Red Bull, he'd tolerate that. A Soda Stream and their Red Bull stuff is cheaper than one case of the store, and the refills on the Red Bull is much cheaper than cases at the store. She won't want to fix her treat at home and take it with her, though.
I recently discovered you on TikTok, and you have made such an impact on my pov in such a short period of time. I grew up in a financially unstable environment, but we never had credit card debt. I attribute my ability to live within my means to my parents’ ability to never live beyond theirs.
Can you drop that brownie recipe lol
Yes! And it's easier to adjust to similar habits. I buy a case of sparkling waters and a huge bag of kettle corn at Costo, and enjoy those in my car after work so I don't stop for sweet treats. Less than a $1/day as opposed to $5/day. :)
Yea my bad habit was eating out for lunch and dinner too much. I saved at least $12 a day just packing my lunch and cooking dinner.

Hey Caleb,
Just wanted to tell you.
You might not be from the US but I'm proud of you for improving your situation. Best of luck in your business! 🇩🇪🤝🇺🇸

This woman is absolutely insufferable. I commend you, Caleb, for your patience
When she says she only will get a new car. My jaw literally dropped…

I think its important to note that she says she is bad with money, not that she has a spending problem. if she called it a spending problem then it would be something to fix, but by saying shes bad with money she’s making it a personality trait instead. “I can’t help it, its just who I am”.

Long time fan here. In my opinion, I feel like a lot of guests you have don’t realize how bad their situation is without any visuals.
"Why are you here?"
Guest: "Because you help people."
Also Guest: Drops every excuse in the book, intense eye roll after each point of issue explained, and gets instantly frustrated when you can't understand their train of thought.
Why are people like this.
Because people don’t think someone can find a solution to their own problems. Making them feel stupid.
Should’ve taken a shot every time she said “🙄ohh my god! 😒ok.” 😂
@@mariam.4309 Add in "Are you kidding?" and be totally plastered by the end of the episode 😂

Nothing like a cup of coffee and Caleb yelling to wake me up in the morning ☕️
Now that's a Friday wake up!
@@CalebHammer😂😂 good morning Caleb! TGIF!
Love it!😂😂😂
To the boyfriend: please leave her you don’t need this waste of person hold you back she’s a waste of time. Trust me I married someone like this and at the end of the marriage she said I never did anything for her
I hope BF sees this and realizes how deeply he is being exploited and not appreciated.
He’s probably a wimp
Yeeh

@@MissMosierable Yeah, if she's not willing to grab a can of redbull from the fridge on her way out, definitely won't be using a soda stream.
I recently discovered you on TikTok, and you have made such an impact on my pov in such a short period of time. I grew up in a financially unstable environment, but we never had credit card debt. I attribute my ability to live within my means to my parents’ ability to never live beyond theirs. I am commenting for my first time because this person’s entitlement and nonchalant perspective has left me speechless that people think like this. I have worked SO hard to get to where I am. While I have very little difficulty affording my lifestyle, I now hear your voice whenever I want a “sweet treat” because most of the time I don’t need it, or I could invest it. Thanks for your platform and for caring to teach others about financial literacy.
As a mexican this happens alot. Parents get into debt thinking they are doing good but are really doing the opposite.
Georgetown is wild town based on this guest and the last guest!!!! 😂
I was just thinking that 😂
It’s just that there’s crazy people everywhere
Loooool it’s just a suburb
I thought the same thing plus Georgetown twice in one week?!
Man I have absolutely nothing nice to say about her
This is crazy. I’m married and do not expect my husband to contribute to my debt payments or buy me things aside from Christmas, Birthdays, and Anniversaries. I’m the one that created the debt, I’m the one paying it back.
Thats cause ur sane and a decent person !
@@iatethecrayonsthank you 🥰 he graciously offers to help, but my parents raised me to handle my own shit!
@frankief1142 same and it's rewarding when we do give gifts because it's something we put a lot of thought into and appreciate
My fiance expects me to pay off her 15k debt 😂

CALEB! As of this month, me and my wife are credit card debt free! Paid all 12k off over the course of a year and a half thanks to your advice! Woooo!
Congratulations 🎊 🎉 don’t go back ❤️
