LeBron should be more loved, however he never diversified his game. The refrain of "surround him with shooters" is the rate-limiting step in his greatness. Sure, call the man a Swiss-Army knife, but those knives have a specific use at specific moments, not regular use at every moment.
LeBron's career could have been more successful in the championship series had a GM or coaching staff took the ball from his hand and inserted a traditional/combo PG & and traditional SG then put Bron on the block.
In time, such a team could have become formidable. Of course, it never happened. Now this man is living in the era of hypercompetitive markets and enhanced player mobility as it relates to free agency, and it is haunting his twilight years.
LeBron is a media creation. The media anointed him prior to any major achievement. It was not speculation, it was a downpayment. Any greater criticism he receives relative to another player is a result of the hype monster created due to outsize media coverage.
Most people receive attention since their exploits are chronicled by news reports. The people themselves are not the reports, unless their elevation to public awareness is an agenda.
So desperate they were to "find" a next Michael Jordan.
Remember three years ago when the Steph hysteria was reaching its zenith? The media was prepared to 'liquidate' LeBron in favor of Steph Curry had the Warriors won the 2016 championship. All news reports were trending to that reality, except the Warriors lost, and the media have been in this holding pattern ever since.
Zion is coming. His coverage is more organic, however. If you notice these sort of things...

Question! Since LeBron was supposed to be better than Jordan can you make an argument that he didn't live up to the hype?
That was the point I was trying to make originally. Imagine how unfair the hype was that the only way a 16 year old kid could have lived up to it was if he became the greatest player of all time, and the thing is that in a lot of people's eyes, he did.
He was drafted out of highschool and was dubbed the “chosen one” to bring cleveland a title. And he did it. Jordan didnt have as nearly as much hype coming out. Lebron exceeded expectations. He brought a title to cleveland like he was supposed to do. He def lived up to the hype. Hes gonna end up 1st all time in scoring. If you actually have to ask this question then you dont know basketball
