Sweet video! I feel like people are so quick to recommend Ohlins as the de-facto coilover upgrade so it's interesting to see someone go a different route.
So why did you decide against a front seat bar? I opted out of the front on my car because the install hassle, as the rear is easier to install and adjust, but wish I had gotten the front instead. Is it because the spring rate on the coils are enough you don't need to fine tune the front yet?
You mean a front strut bar? FWD cars understeer enough as it is, plus my spring rate setup already adds stiffness to the front. I am getting an adjustable rear sway bar to play around with the dynamics when I do some testing at the track
I was also told that the formula for fwd and awd is front sway bar is the way to go if only modifying one end. I thought that's how you get more grip in the front. But it kind of doesn't matter for you since you are going coilover. IMHO, sways are a fine tuning suspension component compared to coilovers or heavier springs. My car is front heavy enough and stuff enough in the back that my rear tire is in the air easily through hard cornering. This happens at my local track and want to get rid of the rear sway because of it. I haven't gone to coilovers yet, as I am still trying to outgrow my car before any modifications. More excuses to go to the track. 😃
@@thedriverux it depends on the car/chassis itself and a bunch of other factors but for fwd and some awd, you want the front soft and the rear stiff to help it rotate. Essentially the front bites down with weight transfer and the stiff rear keeps things powering through and rotates the back end.
You have to adjust the dampers manually with coilovers to the type R? If that's the case, will that cause issues with the digital settings to the suspension?
yea, it's manually, and the only digital part of the stock suspension is the dampers, you take that out, there's not more adjustment to the dampers. the throttle feel, steering weight and stability control do change when you change settings, though
What’s up man, love your videos, I am going to purchase a 2020 type r this Friday. I was wondering which wheel locks you recommend? I am going to have the stock rims on for few weeks
Any suggestions I got I 2017 Honda sport hatchback I want little lower without compromising handling I don't track or anything springs over coli overs ?
Hey what's up FlyinGato After installing these did you run into any issues with your sway bar end links too close to or rubbing on your axle? Do you know if an alignment would correct this Thanks
@@MrAtleem2002 personally mine came with this piece that bypasses the code. If you don’t have this and went with coilovers it will throw out suspension codes CEL

Ohlins is the best.
Yo you have this figured out man no doubt you got this man good. Great video thanks for the info
I'm just happy to see you back with your type r on the track man! 🙂
Thanks man
Welcome to the Fortuneauto family. As you know I love my 510s.
You helped me with picking these!
Any issues with rust if one lives in the salt belt areas? Assuming not since it’s made of aluminum
Channel has grown quite a bit bro. I remember when you were just starting out lol I still have them type r winters btw lol hope all is well
Yea man, I've really enjoyed the journey. Hope your R is doing well!
@@FlyinGato haha i had sold it after all the problems, got its brother/sister accord 10th gen
Nice!

i am sure this would have been asked many times.. how did you mount your camera in the track footage?
On the roll cage. You can also mount it to the rear windows
@@FlyinGato thank you! i dont have a roll cage unfortunately, but ill try the rear windows!
So do you lose the stock electronic adjustment?
Same question...
Of course you do.
Yea you lose the adjustable dampers, but with the stiff springs I needed to upgrade anyway

hey bud, unfortunately I don't know anything about wheel locks, and I actually prefer to run my car without wheel locks.
FlyinGato thanks man
Do you have a light on in the dash because of orignigal suspension removed ?
I haven't put them on yet, but yes, I will. You can buy the HKS suspension canceller if the light bothers you, but I won't mind
Havent you had any issue with ecu problems if u dont install canceller kit on them

If you don't track get eibach or swift springs 👌👍
@@FlyinGato thanks man I'll check them out
I am from Stroudsburg do you know of any good car shows/meets near by?
There's car meets at the point of gap overlook parking lot, not in the last few months, but soon. I post up the meets I go to on my instagram
Ok thanks
yeah your back in black ready to attack on the track
YESSIR!
Can definitely say you did you’re research.👍
Took a TON of time to do all of the research
great choice man. I've got 500's on mine and absolutely LOVE them. Did you ever have any clunking noises coming from the rear on the stock suspension?
Mine has been doing it since new i cant figure out were its from.
I think I have on the stock suspension from time to time, but so does my Prelude so I just tuned it out lol

Haven't had a chance to install these yet, actually going to install them this week! I'll let you know how it goes
@@FlyinGato awesome, looking forward to new content!
Will the modes (comfort, sport, R+) still be working when changing with this coilovers?
I don’t think so? Surprised this question wasn’t answered
@@MrAtleem2002 I am on HKS coils now. The modes just work on throttle and steering wheel but not on the suspension anymore
@@liamfk8 thanks for the info. I always wondered that. It makes sense. Does it kick a code? If so didn’t you have to use Hondata to delete code?

Nice car bro, any issues with oil dilution on that engine? Just asking
Not at all - I talk about this in a video I'll be dropping soon

Your all missing the point, it doesn't matter if its a track demon.. VTEC SHOULD NOT BE TURBOCHARGED!
I do prefer a high revving VTEC motor, like the one in my S2000
