tips i would give to a new player, playing death stranding, 1 watch the cutscenes, listen to the dialogue when things are being told to you so you understand what to do and about the characters in the story,,2once you have access to blood grenaides use them against the BT Bosses after you get dragged away and after the BT boss is dead all the BT in that area are gone for at least a hour,3, once the weather station is accessible work on the weather stations star level aka reputation with that person, so that you get the cargo carriers which helps you carry lots more cargo, at lv 1 star, at about lv 3 or 4 star you get metal,at 5 you get the carrier level 2 which increases the amount of weight each cart can carry so use those cargo carrying carts, and build the roads so once you have access to trucks you can get places without having to worry about BT's,also don't be scared to hit the mules, presssquare on ps5 controller to fight has been a long time button press to punch,as it is with this game ..press it, fight the mules ( cargo stealing thieves) hit them, and steal there stuff which you need to build roads and the lost cargo they have that you can turn in yourself to gain more rep..those are some of my tips
Personally I feel the problem with Death Stranding is that, its a game which requires active participation. Watching any game play will just make the viewer think that it's no more than a walking simulator, playing the game actively might just change the whole experience and impression of the game.
I've also noticed that you cannot play the game in the same room as other people, unless whoever you're playing next to is like SUPER invested in your journey. You know what I mean if you've seen some other videos of reviewers. The IRL conversation detracts from the game experience.

The one thing the game doesn't really explain is "partial deliveries." If I partially deliver a package, does it just dump it into another player's game? Do I only get a fraction of likes? Is there an easier way to look at the menu and see which lost package should be delivered where? No one seems to want to talk about it.
From what I've played, I think it transports the cargo into another person's game, giving you a partial amount of likes instead of the full amount, like going the distance and trekking to the destination.

Right. People wanting this game to fail for no reason. Don't understand why they don't just move along and find something else? Why make it their life ambition to attack and troll people interested in this game is ridiculous
4:09 for people wondering how to get the backpack cover you need to finish order 35 with the junk dealer and after that get level two with the collector then you will obtain the blueprint for the backpack cover
I’ve played this game offline and it has been the best experience ever. Everything depends on me. I need to manage the weight, the places, the areas I will be driving through, consequently I am able to determine where I install the chargers for my bike in order to keep it charged throughout the deliveries. Also I do more than one delivery at a time by selecting the amount of weight to determined place. If the area has EPs then also I bring some blood grenades along and if there are Mules I bring an extra case to be used as a weapon when it’s necessary to defeat them. I also like to design the best paths by creating bridges in the right places. Man, it’s amazing to do that only by myself.
I like how you are by yourself in your world and only interaction is “likes” with other players keeps everything personal. at first I was very confused but UA-cam has helped a lot 👍👍
@@goprojoe7449 Not strictly true. They're secured at the base to your backpack, while the functionally modular nature of their designs allows them to stack together - it's not explained or detailed, but if the packages had even a magnetic aspect gravity, and magnetic attraction, would see many of them sit there without needing to be secured. Indeed, going through doorways etc will knock off the packages at the top of the non-rigid stack, so it would make a lot of sense if the stack relies on simple gravity and magnets to secure items. And It's Just A Game.

In terms of Immersion this game is probably in the top 5 I’ve ever played. If you actually take the time to sit down and let the game set itself up, it’s easy to get lost in it. Not a lot of games can so effectively make you forget that you’re playing a game like Death Stranding.
Big tip I wish I knew earlier is to ride the motorcycle at full speed and tap X button to pull up and “jump” over rocks and and streams, you can totally clear rivers is going fast enough! - your welcome!
Mules can be parried and then binded. Have the strand out and then hold l2 and wait for one of the mules to attack. Once he attacks, there is a slight moment that you can parry the mule by pressing r2 before the hit hits you. Then you can take then down 👍
Its crazy looking at one video and thinking mmmm I'll probably wait to get it. Then i look at another video then I suddenly think i can't wait to get this game.
This seems like a good video. One major tip though (unless I missed it) is *Don't be afraid to play on Very Easy difficulty setting.* You can always switch to harder difficulty later.
If you see Generators right next to Timefall Shelters, I probably put them there for us. Try it, yourself! That way you can repair all your gear _and_ replenish your batteries at the same time! Also, if it’s a safe area, Sam can take a breather and nap underneath the shelter as well. *Keep on keepin’ on, my fellow Porters!* 👍 -SunBunz (same name on PSN)
I think you are going to get a lot more views now that the game has finally been released on Xbox. I am about 12 hours into it and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of the game yet. I will admit though that I am absolutely terrified by those BT's. I have just got the item to deal with them I won't say what it is for fear of spoiling things. I have no idea how much of the game is left but I am enjoying it if I play it in 3 hour bursts thanks for the video my friend
Don’t own the game but two Big things I learned from this was 1 the blue, yellow, and red terrain completely understand it now, and the other is that you get a base amount of likes for helping restore structures. Appreciate the info 🙂 take my like 👍

Thanks for the tips. Just a few hrs in the game and I find it confusing sometimes to make my gameplay a bit easier. Will look on that backpack cover and that skeleton. :) I need to get those support for my character. I'm hesitant in loading him a lot of things.
Liking other players structures/vehicles will make those players' other structures appear more often in your play. Also making them appear on other players' play too. When you build structures and other players send likes to it, it helps you in your journey by randomly recover your stamina in your play.
Sometimes you’ll come across Mules that got armor on them protecting them from your punch. If you don’t have any weapon and don’t want to risk your cargo condition. Punch the ones without armor first, you’ll be able to catch their bag in hand instantly, then go fuck the armor guy up with their own cargo.
It makes much more sense now, and you really have to play to understand what they were going for. In other games, I can just run around and stop on a dime. This game doesn't allow you to be lazy. Gameplay supposed to be tedious, the game is literally asking you if you have the will to do all this management stuff in order to get answers to the story, or are you going to put it on very easy mode and just watch the movie. There will be haters, but the story is very cool and unique sci-fi, and I want to know what happens.
yea that was really bugging me today... more than usual.. i wonder if he was subconsciously extra end-o-word emphasizing today for some reason, but i almost had to turn it off lol
Always bring repair sprays and blood bags. If you see a cryptobiote, stop and grab those. When delivering a golden case or precious cargo, always put it in first, then cover it with unnecessary or junk cargo (early game) so that timefall won’t do that much damage. Be kind and always give likes, help build or upgrade, leave behind useful stuff or cargo for other players to use. Just saying, I play on hard so... anyone else playing on hard?
yep, and by hard, you mean offline also? so that your game isnt made easier by other players building stuff for you?? cuz thats how i play, Hard difficulty and offline, for HARDCORE mode. anybody play hardcore mode?

Don't forget to build a generator early on in the game and next to the reverse trike. Also, park your reverse trike somewhere safe before entering BT territory. I thought I could speed through BT territory, big mistake. 😂
Nice tips. Kind of figured out some of the after watching a few videos, but nice to know the Likes are actually really useful for upgrades, especially with carrying stuff. @@gleam6370 No. I think there is a offline mode but I would recommend it to play online. The game filters how much building you can encounter from another players.
If I start playing now, will there be places left where I could build things to help others? Maybe the entire map is already filled up with ladders and ropes, considering the game was release a while ago. Or things disappear after a while?
Hello. In death stranding, you need to connect places and region into some kind of network. Only after connecting it to the network, you can see other peoples structures.
You only get to see a couple structures here and there, it's random which ones you see and which you don't, you don't just see every structure ever built, yes you can build ss much as you please.
I dont get why people dislike this. I only ever played mgsv and never really knew much about kojima and I found this to be legit af. It really is all about the journey.
Mild spoilers below, be wary. Remember that if you are in an enemy encounter and drop your cargo, you can pause the game and open the cargo menu to get it off the ground more safely. This can be useful also if you lost your anti bt grenades in a pile and need to get it quicker. You can also unload all cargo by holding the triangle button. This is something I do when pinged by mules. I just drop my cargo and wait for them with the bola gun or with my fists.

I thought when you rest your stamina will fill up, but not all the way, because the longer you go without resting at a proper rest spot your stamina meter gets shaded out until you have almost no stamina. Resting won't refill that shaded out meter.
Auto arrange does take itno fact sensitive cargo it just arranges by weight first. So if you have anyyhing thats critical and nothing else it will put it in your pack to protect it from timefall instead of on top however if you have 400 metals on your back it will prioritize that weight over the frigilness of your sensitive cargo........pls tell it right Theres also two kinds of BTs. Ones you can see and ones you cannot. However both are effected by hermetic grenades, type 0, 1 and 2.
Yh the hand making BT's have a smaller hit box & are harder to grenade. I just hate the fact that when you defeat a BT Boss area & you leave & come back to the defeated boss area, it repspawns timefall & the BTs appear again..so annoying :(

new tips is when you get a truck, just push the tuck behind and close to the exit of base, you will easy to transform lots of cargo form truck to base without put that them down to the ground and bring it group by group.

So I started playing the game and haven’t encountered those guys yet but my only question is; is this game basically delivery boy simulator with ghosts and tar-covered monsters or is their more to the story? I’d just like to know
Not the surface rock but the Cairn, a holographic rock left by other player whenever they rest there. The more or longer you rest there, the bigger it gets; the better/faster your stamina recovers. Not to confuse you with Mules' holographic rock postbox.
Best way to handle mules: build postbox, store everything, take them all out stealth, recollect and loot the base
Thanks! never thought of that...giving it a try.

@Berserker there is nothing to discover. The world is desolate.
Right. People wanting this game to fail for no reason. Don't understand why they don't just move along and find something else? Why make it their life ambition to attack and troll people interested in this game is ridiculous

Sure. But new doesn't necessarily mean good. I'm split, it looks intriguing, but Kojima can be pretentious sometimes let's be honest.
This game can be quite relaxing, good podcast game.
Our biggest enemy in this game isn’t the BTs it’s the damn terrain😑😭
I like how you are by yourself in your world and only interaction is “likes” with other players keeps everything personal. at first I was very confused but UA-cam has helped a lot 👍👍

Those big towers of cargo on your back get ridiculous fast.
yeah looks so stupid and theyre not even secured

You can skip al the cutscenes when making a delivery. Real time saver! Best tip for this game!
Keep on the good work. Love the tips!
Then i look at another video then I suddenly think i can't wait to get this game.

pretty dope how Death Stranding is basically like an inversion of Metal Gear Solid V
There has GOT to be a mod where the alert sound from Metal Gear is played for mule encounters, haha.
If you see Generators right next to Timefall Shelters, I probably put them there for us.
Try it, yourself! That way you can repair all your gear _and_ replenish your batteries at the same time! Also, if it’s a safe area, Sam can take a breather and nap underneath the shelter as well.

Keep on keeping on!
Don’t own the game but two Big things I learned from this was 1 the blue, yellow, and red terrain completely understand it now, and the other is that you get a base amount of likes for helping restore structures. Appreciate the info 🙂 take my like 👍
Bro I'm literally getting the PS4 just for this game. Haven't had a PlayStation since the ps2. Also I'm getting the special death stranding PS4. Obviously can't wait to play the last of us , god of war, uncharted, and days gone. Also Spiderman
Öskar M Days Gone got a lot of hate and I don’t understand why..I personally thought it was a great game..I would also recommend Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn..that Death Stranding PS4 is sick though
@@garrettferrell6821 yeah I heard days gone got bombed with bad reviews but I just like zombie games overall you feel. Going to cop all those game on black Friday when they are like 10 bucks a piece. Just saw the bestbuy add so all those games are going to be 10 😎😎😎

Yeah. Picked it up a few hours ago. Set up my account ( took longer than willing to admit 😂 ) and the PS4 took 40 minutes to download the game. Went to Wingstop in the mean time with my dog and I'm to start playing ( 9:30 pm et ) let's hope it was worth it boys 😤
Thanks for the tips. Just a few hrs in the game and I find it confusing sometimes to make my gameplay a bit easier. Will look on that backpack cover and that skeleton. :) I need to get those support for my character. I'm hesitant in loading him a lot of things.
The rain will destroy your stuff like ladders and so on. It will take time but its true. Keep on keeping on!
You can counter with the rope when mules attack and its generous with its timing you use r2 or l2 cant remember but its nice to use
You can still fight them armored Mules barehanded by attacking them on their side or their back.
There will be haters, but the story is very cool and unique sci-fi, and I want to know what happens.
why does he put emphasis on the last few words every time he ends a sentence lmao
that's most UA-camrs who don't understand voiceover, they mimic the delivery they hear on the news rofl
yea that was really bugging me today... more than usual.. i wonder if he was subconsciously extra end-o-word emphasizing today for some reason, but i almost had to turn it off lol
1:38 instead of using and wasting time on setting up a ladder, you can double jump over that cliff. Double click jump button.
Brainy McBoltzmannface, damn I can only imagine. I’ll do that when I finish the game.

Don't forget to build a generator early on in the game and next to the reverse trike. Also, park your reverse trike somewhere safe before entering BT territory. I thought I could speed through BT territory, big mistake. 😂

Watching again as I took a break from Death Stranding for over a year. Need to finish this game!
I think the game fell short because it doesn't capture real hiking so I fixed that.
For people wanting to avoid spoilers I recommend to turn off in game signs that can spoil you. There is the option to do it in the menus
nersoparanaense am I obligated to play in a multi universe with other online players? I don’t want that.
Maria petrov i think you need just to deactivate internet from your ps4 while playing
@@gleam6370 No. I think there is a offline mode but I would recommend it to play online. The game filters how much building you can encounter from another players.
nersoparanaense However, many of those signs are gibberish, without purpose or meaning, so they’re not especially spoilerrific.
So I take it you are already playing it,if so how are you liking it so far?
If I start playing now, will there be places left where I could build things to help others? Maybe the entire map is already filled up with ladders and ropes, considering the game was release a while ago. Or things disappear after a while?
Hello. In death stranding, you need to connect places and region into some kind of network. Only after connecting it to the network, you can see other peoples structures.
You only get to see a couple structures here and there, it's random which ones you see and which you don't, you don't just see every structure ever built, yes you can build ss much as you please.

So if you have anyyhing thats critical and nothing else it will put it in your pack to protect it from timefall instead of on top however if you have 400 metals on your back it will prioritize that weight over the frigilness of your sensitive cargo........pls tell it right
Theres also two kinds of BTs.

You can use the blood grenades on the mule as well, they will start coughing and you can then easily punch them in the face.
Surely the recovery time on rock is doubled not halved?
Not the surface rock but the Cairn, a holographic rock left by other player whenever they rest there. The more or longer you rest there, the bigger it gets; the better/faster your stamina recovers. Not to confuse you with Mules' holographic rock postbox.
