@@Sean3D2Y This isn't new. alot of people have enjoyed indie games that are simulator like. But we haven't had one made by such a big game developer. this is no different from people playing Stardew valley and farming. Games like this give a strong sense of accomplishment.
If you take out an entire camp of MULEs they will be out of commission for quite a while, so you can loot all their boxes for Lost Cargo, large troves of materials, and every camp is hiding at least one Memory Chip that is easier to find when you aren't worrying about being spotted. Their trucks are also really useful for transporting large amounts of cargo in the early game, especially when you cannot print your own truck yet. There is plenty to gain from taking out a MULE outpost.
Mule hideouts almost always have MEMORY CHIPS. Don’t run from them if you’re a completionist or want these chips. Take em out and loot the area. Not to mention many metals and ceramics in abundance.
I was skeptic at first because of the mixed reviews but decided to buy it when it was on sale for $35 USD. I'm surprised it actually turns out to be fun to play. I must admit though, the first 10-15 hours does feel like chores if you decide to do all the npc orders and standard orders (delivery contracts) from each stations. There's a lot of running back and forth between stations, but once you unlock your bike it gets very easy. I'm glad I bought it and didn't listen to the negative reviews. It's an addicting game once you get the hang of the mechanics and it makes you keep wanting to level up your character.
The game takes some getting used to to learn how to do things and takes a while to figure it out but I do really like it and starting to understand how to build and make my my journey as safe as I can

I'm about 4hrs into it. It's a mixed bag. The visuals and audio mix are fantastic... the gameplay is something very different. Kojima's vision is unique but the execution is a bit all over the place. Nonessential inventory up top to avoid timefall damage is a good tip!

Pro tip killing the bt boss in an area ends the timefall so its just easier to drop packages 8n a safe area or leave on bike and engage the bts directly and grenade the boss to death to end the timefall zone and get a lot of chiral crystala
Otherwise its going to timefall for longer and dot damage your packages for longer. So i just drop all my stuff and fight the bts as soon as timefall starts to end it.

@@donatotusi9140 i carry 2 or 3 hematic grenades and like 3 blood packs at a time or maybe 4. Each case lets u throw like 3 or 4 nades and if u have blood packs u dont ever worry about anemia. Its also hilarious if u use the call out button like u would for social pings (click in touchpad) whilst in enemy or bt engagements sam will egg the enemy on and call them to come get him
Did you play through the game on normal or did you go with Very Easy mode and never touch side quests or half the content? I'm talking about pre-release, since game reviewers might not always dedicate several weeks to finishing a game completely.
The mules haven’t been to bad at all. I got chased a little bit near the start of the game but ran my ass off and got away, plus if you scan a lot you’ll see them in the distance so you can plan your way around them or plan an attack
In my second playthrough, I spent over 100 hours accomplishing two tasks: 1) achieving 5 stars on every distro center, knot city, waystation, and prepper shelter, including Peter the Pizza Man, and 2) completing the Western Highway. In doing so, I made the rest of the game so, so much easier. In particular, delivering Mama to Lockne became a casual drive through the country.
mule post boxes are worth the fight. ive leveled up so many uca locations with recycleable items from them . just smash them in the face with some cargo you dont mind loosing to damage like a ladder. or use a lvl 1 bola gun and wait for them to get free then smash them in the back of the head. of course you can always steal their trucks like in the central region to help out with large deliveries.
Meh. If you want to farm Crystal's you do need to fight, it's easy though with the grenades, but it helps if you do it. Need the Crystal's for the roads, plus I like to hang about search stuff out and explore the map. I quite happy to hang about in chapter three, build the highways, then the zip lines and even mark out some speed tracks for those who go after me. Very enjoyable.
No tips for how to best take out mules? Thats the only thing I really need to know to help me master this game. So far they are a thorn in my side. I have the rope gun which is nice but they get free pretty quick. I’m hoping there will be better weapons to permanently incapacitate them like the rope does (but without sneaking). any tips? If only I had my MGS V arsenal as well lol
Also if you do jobs for the crafter amd engineer you get a upgraded version of the item he gives you same goes for other ppl so its really important you to do jobs for them so they can help you and take your time.
I have a question that may seem dumb, but I’d really like to know... I’m about 10 hours into the game (about halfway to 3/4s of the way through chapter 2) and I find myself holding L2 and R2 literally 99% of the time, even when I have very little cargo... is there any downside to this? I can’t really tell if I’m moving faster when not holding the triggers, if it depletes my stamina gauge irreparably until I get to a safe room, and generally don’t see a downside, unless I’m totally missing something, in doing so... please help!
Eric Lough nope.. go ahead and do it to your hearts content although you don’t really need to if your weight text isn’t yellow or red. As long as your under something like 40 or 50 kgs then you will be fine and won’t tilt much at all.
I like that you can stand on the floating carrier; that's a nice little touch. Still don't really know what the purpose of "Likes" is for structures & so on. Does that make them more likely to appear in other players' game worlds?
A little into the game you can set up strand contracts with people and will be able to see there stuff and be able to detect it more easily it's pretty cool
Other player rest area, the bigger they are the faster your stamina get restored when you rest there More player rest on the same spot, from small rock to giant coral spawning criptobite
Why would you put the cargo down to spray it? Just equip the cargo spray press F to point the can backwards and spray it will fix the cargo, while still on you're back.
i was doing the mssion taking the presidents body, and you where talking about like peoples build so they can apear in your own world while i was climbing ladders played by someone
for BT zones...as soon as you get vehicles, just leave all your cargo on the bike, walk forward wearing ONLY hematic grenades and Blood packs, let them knock you down, kill the mini boss, then harvest the chiral crystals. you'll need a LOT of them starting in chapter 3 when you start rebuilding roads. and forget the floating cart...it eats your crystal reserves. Bikes don't. sneaking around and taking the floaters out one at t time will take MUCH longer, for little reward.
One should always go through any an all signs they can. Some of then offer boosts. So far I've noticed BB likes the baby posts, and some recharge stamina.
I miss her , channel is not the same without her beautiful voice and funny personality. P.s you can use the strand rope to tie down the packages to the floating carrier and doing so makes sure no matter what happens they will never fall out only the rope pulling will snap so it’s very good to always do this.
Honestly, if you're confident in your ability to make a delivery without falling and causing damage to your cargo, repair spray is optional. All it does is repair the container the repair spray is in, not the cargo itself. And time fall doesn't damage cargo, just the containers which increases damage to cargo if you fall
L2 R2 and square lets you charge those Mules that just keep blocking punches I never run from Mules, their camps are good for resources, especially if you’re trying to fix up the roads
When using the Bola Gun to fight mules, if two circles appear above them then they can "wake up" rather quickly and get back in the fight, so walk up to their bodies and press square to kick them. This knocks them out and the symbol above them changes to stars. Once all are knocked out, the area becomes safe for decent amount of time for all porters to pass through.
@@donatotusi9140, not sure about that. I'm pretty sure it fixes all of them, but you might need to separately spray the ones on the suit. I haven't noticed an issue there, honestly.
The mules are easy to fight, just keep distance between yourself and them and tie them up with the bola gun, then kick them in the head to put them to sleep. Don't let a free mule get close to one tied up or asleep because they will free and wake each other up. Once you incapacitate every mule in a camp you are given plenty of time to take everything they own including trucks. They tend to stay asleep for a while. It is very rewarding when you learn how to take out a mule camp.
I dont understand how people cant figure out how to spray your backpack. The button to do so comes up on your screen and is more obvious than offloading cargo
More tips: Farm MULE camps for metals (1st mule camp in lake knot) and ceramics (between the Engi and Eld) Farm BTs for Crystals cuz every 1k Crystals give you extra 1kg softcap.

9:56 Holy shit its YongYea :O
When you’re on a built road stay on the middle. It will give you unlimited energy as long as you stay in it. Also if you hold down L3 and press R2 you will gain a nitrous boost for your bike.
Nitrous boost is so satisfying.
Aaron Dapatnapo just press once, no need to hold
The futuristic bi-trike is really awesome. Build the entire road, it's really worth it!
This game is amazing! I'm glad I bought it, I've been playing it since yesterday on and off and I'm already a level 29 Porter. The gameplay is addicting, you genuinely feel connected to the other people that help you by leaving stuff behind and vice versa. Also when I'm not playing this game it's always on mind I'm always thinking about getting back into it and playing it, trying to figure out and plan ahead of travelling across the landscape to deliver the packages in one piece with no damage whatsoever!
i just felt like a goddamn addict, im level 250 😂😂😂
Azneye blueed two things. 1.) you best me to it and 2.) that actually makes me feel better about how far I am 😂😂😂 level 80 something after 14 and a half hours or so
51 at 6 hours in!
keep rocking lmao
Cosmonauteable ya how dare someone actually enjoy something they have been playing for hours
Same here, I havnt had that feeling playing a game in a long time
I can't believe they made a game that's training me to be a Amazon delivery person.
Crazy how ppl are actually enjoying this type of gameplay. Constant Deliveries. How Fun.
@@Sean3D2Y This isn't new. alot of people have enjoyed indie games that are simulator like. But we haven't had one made by such a big game developer. this is no different from people playing Stardew valley and farming. Games like this give a strong sense of accomplishment.
@@brandonwallace2497 Ahh Ok that makes Sense.
@@Sean3D2Y It's very relaxing, but that's subjective so....I respect your opinion.
Since when Amazon delivery people deliver everything on their back on foot with their hiking gear though. That's weird training.
When Skatebording on the carrier press Square to push yourself a little, great for a little boost up the upcline you wouldn't get over without it.
There’s definitely some spoilers in this. I already passed them but it would be courteous to mention it...
Roughly how far into the game does it spoil stuff?
Mule hideouts almost always have MEMORY CHIPS. Don’t run from them if you’re a completionist or want these chips. Take em out and loot the area. Not to mention many metals and ceramics in abundance.
Why on earth would you spray cargo under a time fall shelter? Time fall shelters automatically repair all containers LOL
The game takes some getting used to to learn how to do things and takes a while to figure it out but I do really like it and starting to understand how to build and make my my journey as safe as I can
I absolutely love this game so far. I’m in Chapter 2
Chapter 1 and 2 were excruciating for me. Middle of 3 now and I can't stop playing this game!
When fighting mules, hold both L2 and R2 them use □ to tackle or X to dodge, with the strand hold on to it with L2 and hit R2 before they lung at you to parry their attack and disable them
Just bought it yesterday and played it a little. So far, I'm just walking around enjoying the amazing graphics.
You can actually hold the repair spray in your hand push the square button Too Faced it backwards and you can spray them while they're on your back free tip from someone that doesn't have a fancy UA-cam channel
Thank you!
Played this a few times on different systems and one thing I have only just noticed while playing directors cut for every 1000 chiral crystals it lowers cargo weight by 5 which doesn't seem like much but defiantly helps haven't seen anyone mention this
just stated my journey today wish me luck!!!
I'm about 4hrs into it. It's a mixed bag. The visuals and audio mix are fantastic... the gameplay is something very different. Kojima's vision is unique but the execution is a bit all over the place.
Nonessential inventory up top to avoid timefall damage is a good tip!
@ I'm going to try again once I'm off from work and Redbox it again.
@ well I did rent it again and ended my session in the most disastrous way possible. I just made it through a BT hotzone (lost most of my luggage) and after scurrying back and reclaiming it all I made it to the final bridge leading to my drop off point. I decided I would take a moment and have Norman relieve himself off the side of the bridge and right as I finished he fell off the damn bridge!! I spent the next 10 min paddling my way to my soaked belongings and stomped my way to the building to make my delivery. Lol
@@crazy8panda really disastrous indeed. While tumbling over is annoying, i find it hilarious and as iconic as the MGS exclamation. Makes me chuckle when i see memes about that tumble.
I personally love the game, grabbed me from the get go..idk why reviewers find the opening hours slow, i mean it's walking, but the amount of obstacles and customization in your way just never dulled.
I hope you finish it!
@@crazy8panda anyway, if you find the main deliveries hard enough, dont pick up the lost cargoes if you arent going the same way as the destinations of such. They wont rot to timefall until you pick them up.
You can also spend time just scouting terrain and tagging them. Dont forget to leave everything in your private lockers when you are just on scouting and material gathering runs
@ That fall the bridge shocked me but thanks for all the tips and advice! I'll definitely go back to it at a later date when I get some more spare time!
i have honestly never expected to find my self enjoying so much a game that is mostly just about making deliveries. Online elements should be an example on how multiplayer should be in AAA tiltes. And oh this community...i love it all
Death Stranding is so so good ! GOTY for me ! I'm currently watching video up to Episode 12 about Clifford...By the way, I'm more to the Nintendo games than others but a good 3rd parties AAA games like this one I can't deny it same to the Final Fantasy 15, Resident Evil 7, God of War, The Last Redemption 2 etc
I have been having great fun, thanks for the tip of the reverse ping to keep the mules off my tail, I must of missed that hint. Also building road is the best and makes the game so much easier when you can
Do you know, if a way to lower the music volume? I didn't find it.
@@CapnRetro as far as I can see there is no way to do it. Kojima idea I think was immerse the player in the soundscape as is
@@astraldragon01 The problem is the music takes me out of the immersion. What pulls me in, is the atmosphere, like wind, bugs and so on.
@@CapnRetro my condolences I really looked hard and I could not see it. I know that there is a music player that you can play music you get and I wonder if when the music play weather you can turn the music off when it starts?
leozar69
Well good news music is rarely played.
It’s scripted for the first few story missions, to play at certain points.
Later on it’s entirely random, and don’t even play for hours and hours. So after you’re into Chapter 4 or later, you shouldn’t be hearing any music.
Just started splaying this game is incredible... the community is so strong 💪🏼
I love your voice its so soothing...totally subscibed.
Her: :Death Stranding has a multiplayer component, but like Dark Souls, it's more about helping players in their own individual world..."
Me: "I see you've never played Dark Souls."
If Dark Souls had players build a wall to shield other players from the red dragon guarding the bridge then yes, it is very much like the asynchrous multiplayer of DeathStranding.

@@Docmain3 she say likz
@@wolfbrother8043 she definitely meant to say unlike though, just picked the wrong word. there's no need to put but at the beginning of that statement otherwise.

The odradek will not negate mule pings unless you have a odradek upgrade that you get after delivering cargo to the farmer
Uhhmn. Fellow porters, help me finish the highway in Lake Knot City area. I'm farming mats all day just to build roads. HELP!
I'm working on it too
I finished that stretch of highway yesterday... I dont know if the world is the same for everyone though because I dont know if EVERYONE is connected to the same map. Ive been wondering if I can only see what a group of people have made, not everyone.
@@DivineDissident everyone isn't connected to same world
CatGoD Ray thanks, yeah i thought we would be connected to more people :/
Is it wrong that I call that back-robot "Odenkirk" and pretend that every time it sees an unborn-spirit it says "Better Caul Soul"?
Pro tip killing the bt boss in an area ends the timefall so its just easier to drop packages 8n a safe area or leave on bike and engage the bts directly and grenade the boss to death to end the timefall zone and get a lot of chiral crystala
Otherwise its going to timefall for longer and dot damage your packages for longer. So i just drop all my stuff and fight the bts as soon as timefall starts to end it.
how many blood grenades do you carry on yourself on average? I haven't tried a bt boss fight yet but I don't want to craft like 20 grenades or something
@@donatotusi9140 i carry 2 or 3 hematic grenades and like 3 blood packs at a time or maybe 4. Each case lets u throw like 3 or 4 nades and if u have blood packs u dont ever worry about anemia. Once you get exo legs carry big stacks isnt that big of a deal so if u jnow your going to fight bts take grenades and blood packs and just dump your gear and go engage the bt directly. Its also hilarious if u use the call out button like u would for social pings (click in touchpad) whilst in enemy or bt engagements sam will egg the enemy on and call them to come get him
@@bladestar1 wait I thought each case only allows 1 grenade so with with 2 cases you can carry 6 grenades? Anyways thank you for the answer!:)
Donato Tusi you eventually unlocked grenade pouches that hold your grenades freeing up body or backpack space. I usually hold 10 plus.
0:55 did she just sprayed fully repaired delivery ?
can you only play music in the private room ? I wish I could use the playlist while going on a delivery
You have a music player in your private room, you get a trophy for using it the first time.
I thought the same thing, such great music, wish we could listen to it with a media player like in mgsv
no but you can use your phone or laptop lol
Anik Don'tPanic you cant even play Spotify on the PS4 while on death stranding and that doesn’t work if you use a headset for gaming
Death stranding: UPS nightmare edition
In my second playthrough, I spent over 100 hours accomplishing two tasks: 1) achieving 5 stars on every distro center, knot city, waystation, and prepper shelter, including Peter the Pizza Man, and 2) completing the Western Highway. In doing so, I made the rest of the game so, so much easier. In particular, delivering Mama to Lockne became a casual drive through the country.
What does an Scottish/Irish chimney sweep wear at work?
Suit.
I’ve been play death stranding for several days and wish I saw these tips sooner thank you some tips you mentioned I just learned from this video
mule post boxes are worth the fight. ive leveled up so many uca locations with recycleable items from them . just smash them in the face with some cargo you dont mind loosing to damage like a ladder. or use a lvl 1 bola gun and wait for them to get free then smash them in the back of the head. of course you can always steal their trucks like in the central region to help out with large deliveries.
D Mac yes! Ive been on chapter 3 a long time building roads! I really like the game!
@@DivineDissident We re enjoying the game. As we should. 😎
You can point the repair spray backwards with damaged cargo on
Also if you do jobs for the crafter amd engineer you get a upgraded version of the item he gives you same goes for other ppl so its really important you to do jobs for them so they can help you and take your time.
This game has wonderful Easter eggs, and I only just begun playing it! 👍
Before taking trucks to get around ride a bike through the paths u intent for the truck a few times. It will clear the rocks and pave a path.
Cheers very much! Very nice to know, really appreciated!
Does cargo 'auto arrange' help with this?
Valorie L yeah auto arrange basically puts everything in the best spots they can be in.
This was REALLY helpful. thanks A LOT ! Cheers!!
I like that you can stand on the floating carrier; that's a nice little touch.
Still don't really know what the purpose of "Likes" is for structures & so on. Does that make them more likely to appear in other players' game worlds?
I think so. The game only slightly mentioned that but if I recall that’s what it is for.
Yes the more you like the more you can help and be helped
@@XxgoodbudsxX Like in general, or from the people you give likes to?
Not 100% on that i see a lot of people's stuff and I like stuff all the time lol

I've started to notice small rock/coral holograms on the ground. Anyone know what they are?
Other player rest area, the bigger they are the faster your stamina get restored when you rest there
More player rest on the same spot, from small rock to giant coral spawning criptobite
@@grimthereaperz Thanks Ruby.
Why would you put the cargo down to spray it? Just equip the cargo spray press F to point the can backwards and spray it will fix the cargo, while still on you're back.
What are those cargo packages glowing purple?
using repair spray in a timefall shelter. Brilliant!
i was doing the mssion taking the presidents body, and you where talking about like peoples build so they can apear in your own world while i was climbing ladders played by someone
You don't need to use that repair spray when under a time fall shelter, as it will automatically repair your cargo when you're under them.
for BT zones...as soon as you get vehicles, just leave all your cargo on the bike, walk forward wearing ONLY hematic grenades and Blood packs, let them knock you down, kill the mini boss, then harvest the chiral crystals. you'll need a LOT of them starting in chapter 3 when you start rebuilding roads. and forget the floating cart...it eats your crystal reserves. Bikes don't. sneaking around and taking the floaters out one at t time will take MUCH longer, for little reward.
Thanks for the power generator outside of The Craftsman's shelter :D
One should always go through any an all signs they can. Some of then offer boosts. So far I've noticed BB likes the baby posts, and some recharge stamina.
Mule camps are loaded with resources you can use to build roads. It’s easy to fight mules and def worth looting their postboxes !
@5:13 So, today I have learned another way to avoid their pulses! I used to time my jumps haha
I miss her , channel is not the same without her beautiful voice and funny personality.
P.s you can use the strand rope to tie down the packages to the floating carrier and doing so makes sure no matter what happens they will never fall out only the rope pulling will snap so it’s very good to always do this.
Love the game. Just wish the music was more frequent. Some great songs in there.
Totally
Use hermetic grenades on the grasping arms the BTs spawn to buy time to get away faster.
Honestly, if you're confident in your ability to make a delivery without falling and causing damage to your cargo, repair spray is optional. All it does is repair the container the repair spray is in, not the cargo itself. And time fall doesn't damage cargo, just the containers which increases damage to cargo if you fall
L2 R2 and square lets you charge those Mules that just keep blocking punches
I never run from Mules, their camps are good for resources, especially if you’re trying to fix up the roads
4:54 If ur not "really itching to punch someone in the face" after playing Death Stranding, ur not playing Death Stranding.
I can up on a mule camp with a few off them around, hot in tall grass til they moved on a ways then raided their camp
Also, you don’t need to drop your containers to repair them - just point the spray backwards, spray ‘n’ go. 👍
Great video in general though. You mentioned a lot of stuff others haven’t. 👍
what about the ones on sam's suit?
@@donatotusi9140, not sure about that. I'm pretty sure it fixes all of them, but you might need to separately spray the ones on the suit. I haven't noticed an issue there, honestly.
If you knock a mule out you can grab their cargo and slam it on another one's face to knock them out quickly
Conan O'Brian Easter egg at the end was a nice finish.
Build tons of zip lines when you get them
The mules are easy to fight, just keep distance between yourself and them and tie them up with the bola gun, then kick them in the head to put them to sleep.
More tips: Farm MULE camps for metals (1st mule camp in lake knot) and ceramics (between the Engi and Eld)
Farm BTs for Crystals cuz every 1k Crystals give you extra 1kg softcap.

If i ever do play the game i know i'll enjoy the soundtrack, and i'll DEFINITELY search out the wee otter hood, it's very sweet!

"There's nothing to really be gained from taking them on." Then proceeds to show two seperate times something highlighted by her scanner in blue that is very important to be gained.
