@@valoriel4464 oh thanks. Heres some more then lol You can ride the hoverboard like a skateboard but if you crash you will fall You can piss on and near BTs to chase them away. Doing a wheelie on the bike lets you get around rocks way easier. So if you see some rocky areas pop a wheelie instead of getting stuck with the front wheels. If you are tired of those pesky BTs and want to avoid them, you can look at the sky and see where they are from the rainbows and strands in the sky.
If you aim for mules head they be knocked out, look for the symbols when they are down, they’ll also wiggle and get back up if don’t knock (or kick) them.
Along the road if you put down the speed boost sign in the center of the road people are more likely to drive through for a few reasons. 1. They get a speed boost when you drive through it 2. Using the center of the road when driving saves on your battery
Best tip - in chapter 3, go to Collector - It is located in a crevasse in south of distribution center south of lake knot city. Do anything to get it to 5 stars - get level 1 and level 2 backpack cover, so your back cargo never gets destroyed by timefall or snow timefall (worse than rain). 2nd best tip - you can go pretty much everywhere with a truck level 3 with 4-5 PCB so you can construct generators when there is no more energy - it helps a lot in snow mountains. 3rd best tip - if you don't go well with driving in the snow mountains, get the hovering cart.
Great tips... What pisses me off about being a gamer is sharing a "label" with people that give this game a 0 (and to be fair a 10) on Metacritic 24 hours from it's release. Unless they played the entire game on the first 24 hours of release, this is disgusting. This game falls on the "Space Trucking" genre, if you like games like Free Lancer, even No Man's Sky, the commercial part of Elite Dangerous and of course, Euro Truck Simulator, you WILL like this game. I'm a huge fan of Borderlands and I actually bought BL3 at full price but if I'm being honest that game although it's 100% about shooting it's also much more mind numbing than Death Stranding. This game is about walking (and driving) but it's far from being a "push forward to win" game, it has more gameplay mechanics and player-skill based mechanics in this game than a lot of popular games out there. There's A LOT of management in this game, management of routes and weight distribution for example, and A LOT of decision making. It's a bit extreme but this is a game where the only opinion that has value is from people that played it, if you didn't and feel the need to trash it online your opinion is worthless. This game proves that the definition of "fun" and "video games" are only the way they are because of what the industry sets as a standard. The small niche that enjoys Euro Truck Simulator 2 (although it has 100% overwhelmingly positive on steam) knows a game doesn't need shooting to be fun and racing games have been proving for 4 or 5 decades of video games history that "going from point A to B" is VERY fun because of what's between A and B. That's what makes DS so good IMO, because of what's in between A and B.
You summed up how I'm feeling perfectly. This game has put me in a weird mood looking at my games shelf and realizing how much of gaming is dedicated to killing an enemy. It took starting this game last night for me to realize something beautiful and enthralling can be crafted and enjoyed that is based on something other than kill x y and z. I understand it's not for everybody. But to anyone that enjoys the shadow of collosus or journey games out there i suggest giving it a try
@@tomseleman3873 Right? The thing is, I think saying "who likes shadow of the colossus and journey will like this" is a disservice to the game and to people that might like it but are on the fence. I don't entirely disagree with you, it's just that everything I ever felt while playing a fun game, I'm feeling while playing Death Stranding, it just has a different "shape". You play a video game much more in Death Stranding than you do in Shadow of the Colossus and Journey, that's my point. DS literally takes the moments you're in your horse going from point A to B in SotC and transforms it into an engaging video game. Some say it's actually stressful and that's a testament to how you're doing something instead of just pushing forward like some people are desperately making it sound like. It's not just "Oh it's a relaxing game to take a break from action games and chill". There is a video game there, IMO it's more engaging than a game like Diablo for example, which is a game that after you become strong and start farming transforms into one of the most mind numbing experiences I ever had. Granted I like Diablo but my point is that even a game about slaying the hordes of hell can become repetitive and mundane. If a fun action centered concept can become boring and mindless why can't a boring mindless concept become fun and engaging? That's the right question and maybe the piece of the puzzle that is missing for some people to realize how it feels to play this game.
Good points definitely. Granted yeah it's worlds different from those two titles they just seemed like the best comparison I could draw in that when they were announced people all said "well that doesn't even sound like a game, 12 bosses and done? No way will that work." And journey got the same walking comments to an extent but the experience of those games broke the mold people were used to and became staples for new grounds in game design and what a game could be
Also I’ve yet to see this tip yet If you are fighting a BT monster (chasers I think they are called) Most people just hit it with HG and run away rinse and repeat or when you get guns they just shoot at it If you first hit it with a hematic grenade and then shoot the BT through the blood cloud that forms you will do a TON of extra damage to it. The blood clouds turn your ammo into blood soaked bullets of pain and revenge.
I laughed my ass off earlier because I found out when you get spotted and they're trying to drag you down you can urinate on them and it'll give you a window to escape.
Its the most shameless product placement in gaming, ever. That and the “likes” being the currency of the game. Facebook and Coca-Cola......Kojima is no dummy.
Big tip I wish I knew earlier is to ride the motorcycle at full speed and tap X button to pull up and “jump” over rocks and streams, you can totally clear rivers! -your welcome! Also the zip lines are the fastes travel method! Pack then PCC2!
On repeated actions like delivering cargo, going to private room, recycling, or even the bb flashbacks. Do NOT press options and then skip. Once you’ve already watched a cut scene, the next time it repeats you can skip it by simply pressing circle. Makes chugging all five monsters super fast and easy once you watch the 3 or 4 times. This also let’s you know if it’s a bb flashback you haven’t seen before because pressing circle only skips those you’ve seen
Equip weapons/tools to tool rack and tap right d pad to easily pull out and put away as needed when entering combat. Works with anything attached to tool rack.
This game is masterpiece, can’t stop thinking about it.. this was the best game I’ve played and still playing (20 hours) and not even half way, just wow!
Thank you for the tips! Especially the one about making a generator by the broke down motorcycle!! I'm trying it tonight. I haven't gotten very far in the game, as I'm not a seasoned gamer. So I really appreciate these tips! Thanks so much!
Do some standard orders to free some chiral bandwidth and start from Capital knot city and connect every city via zip lines, thats what I did and now im getting perfect timed and conditions deliveries from city to city.
@@nuglife6489 Lol! Naa, I'm good. I do enough const. in real life. I like a good story but it goes hand in hand with good gameplay as well to keep my attention.
I’m actually really enjoying it so far but have a lot of game left. Most articles tell you to get past the first 10 hours but I’ve enjoyed it from the beginning, maybe I’m just in the right move this week. Fingers crossed it gets better and better
I think I'm gonna love this game even if there's not much combat, I just love open world games. I mean I spent at least 400 hours on the Red Dead 2 campaign and the majority of that was me just wondering around exploring mainly doing things not involving guns.
Wild west hunting and fishing simulator.... I spent so much time in chapter 2 just doing random stuff and junk. I even got confronted by the gang a few times asking me when I'd come back to camp.
Beautifully badass is what if call this game. On my 4K with the pro...it is just incredibly detailed..and that’s what I probably love and respect the most out of this game. So glad I bought this.
Bola the mule and kick to stun. They can still getup when only snared. L2+R2+square [body slam] or L3(literally running)+O [slide] will makes a [guard break] move. Useful on human enemies The cargo conrainers on the mule truck can be repaired via timefall shelter. BRIDGES trucks doesn't. The water canteen gets refilled when your foot touches the clear water.( no need to be sumerged) On steep mountains. You can place anchors and throw the rope downwards. If you slip, you can grab the rope to recover. Rush the story till ziplines [Edit] Had to edit. Thanks for all the corrections
I dont think it kills mules when you bola gun them in the river (or water). Instead, it knocks them out. You will see an inflatable emergency device around their neck.
Nope I was playing around with this yesterday I would wait for them to cross the water to me and knock them out and watch as their flotation devices go off and the slowly drift away down river
@@iiMrNiceGuyii really? I didnt know that. Mine was just floating above the river, they never went downstream. I guess they were stuck in some kind of rock clusters or something.
I’ve also noticed lots of rain shelters built outside delivery locations so you can just stand under them to fix damaged containers before you deliver them.
What do you think of this game JorRaptor? As a gameplay person, my thoughts are shifted. Do you think this is a buy or a pass, and did you enjoy playing it or was it boring to walk from point A to point B?
I want to experience this game for myself but IMO I don’t think it’s gonna be worth $60. Probably just gonna watch it on UA-cam and wait for a price drop
You do know there is combat and stealth missions kinda like metal gear. It's not just a walking sim. I feel like people give bad rep of Death Stranding because it isn't a "Shooty-shooty bang-bang" game all the time.
@@bitzthe8bit668 their is rarely action fights and people are on the fence because they dont want to spend 60 dollars on a game that's a movie and your just walking around for 10 plus hours some people have real lifestyle and dont need to live through a game. Some people like to live their lives through a game good for them
With the Bola Gun fire around the enemies neck to knock them out thus preventing them from getting back up, also any enemies restrained by the Bola Gun can be kicked to knock them out
I can't believe you didn't mention how bola headshot instantly KO's enemies, or how you can knock them out permanently by kicking them while they're tied up
Nikko Mendoza yup My daily farming (I’m only on chapter 3 right now) is to make a few bola guns and drive through the 2 or 3 mule camps by knot city and collect all their loot and go build roads or fill up my storage. Everything else I just put into shared storage for other people to use.
Btw the bola gun is a one shot weapon aim for the head and if you happen to hit body you can run up to any MULE and kick them to keep them down making the area safe for a while
Seems like a really cool game all around but! It just bothers me carry a sky scraper on my back. Wish this wasn't a thing. Tho I understand it's a huge part of the game :(.
ACTUALLY, got a thing wrong. If you're AT the delivery point... just deliver. The container condition won't matter as it's just the shell. And the Container Repair Spray does NOT fix the cargo if it did get damaged.
You can take the Bridges trucks into the Distribution centre. Park them on the platform you use to go down to private room, and they will be parked in garage for you. Its the Mule trucks only you cannot park in the centers. I found that out last night.
Munzz97 I usually just pick up list cargo between the way stations and deliver it myself and just keep going back and forth until everything has been delivered. In like 30mins I already maxed out my rating for 2 of the 3(for me anyway) way stations outside knot city
Just an FYI with the container repair spray you can equip it and hold L2 then press square to point it backwards and it will repair all containers (that are repairable) that you are carrying and it will also show status on the left of screen what has been repaired to 100%.
When an enemy is on the ground tied up by the bola gun you can kick them knocking them out. They stay knocked out for a while allowing you to take as much materials as you want.
I didn’t know that you have to hold options button to add materials to structure! I found out in chapter 3, I couldn’t complete a bridge it was just a frame lol.
I have two tips the first is to drink all the monster cans go piss leave and return and repeat easy way to farm ex n 1 grenades second tips is for saving time when your in a bt area equip your ex n 1 grenade then start running and ignore the bts if you get in the tar area immediately throw the ex n1 grenade at your feet and leave the tar area if done right you get to cargo dmg and wont get grabbed at all
After using the Bola gun you can run up to them and kick them to knock them out. Also if you aim for their neck the Bola gun immediately knocks them out
protip for driving trucks through BT zones: you can easily escape tar hunters by boosting as they open the door to your truck, if you manage to get pulled out you should quicky switch to a hermetic grenade and toss it right at your feet, it should stun the tar hunters long enough for you to get out of their mini-pool, from what ive seen they wont pull the truck fully into the pit so you just need to wait for them to go away and hop right back in the truck, if you are using a covered bridges truck all your cargo should be completely unharmed
I think this game depends on if you like living your life through games and like watching movie games or if your actually like to play games and dont like movie type games
All i can say for the rope is there is no penalty for mashing it like in souls games you dont need to time it i just madh r2 the whole time and it instant paries and then knocks them out
Keeo floater with u. If you need to get down from a high point to a lower point. Just ride it down You womt take fall damage. Only if you trip amd fall
So when I got the gold color cuff from mama I had no idea how to cut the umbilical cord of the BTs until I lost the fear of going close to them and the "cut the cord" option appeared and now I save tons of blood and blood ammo you have to get real close by holding your breath the press ⬜ on your remote
Just came to have a Gander and being a futuristic my hermes guy juiced up on monster just doesn’t appeal to me 👍🏻 thanks for the heads up though and hope those have got it enjoy it 👌🏻
Vanilla Goose to loook at something without actually playing it, then voice an opinion with no actual basses to go off is quite silly. You have no idea what you don’t like until you know you don’t like it.
Joshua Zozaya Mate i’ve watched tons of walk throughs on it ! i always do before i buy a game i initially fancied buying ! Its not for me and i’m entitled to my opinion ! We as Gamers are being stung too much by these manufacturers , lost count of how many shit games i’ve been duped into getting, now i do my research and this game doesn’t appeal to me
Does repairing the cointainer right before the pickup really do something? I thought, the condition of the item inside is important, not the container itself. Or is the item also repaired with the spray?
This game was a fucking masterpiece. Sure its not a kind of game I played before (GOW, Elden, CoD) but because it has its own league . I find it peaceful just by listening to its in-game music while traversing the nature. And fuck, its looks beyond greatness in Ps5, simply breath taking, easily the best graphics I saw in my years of gaming.
Any one know how the game decides whose structures to show on in your game world? I am in episode 2 and I am really enjoying and taking my time with the game. However I fear when I go to the next area once I connect there is going to be so many structures, bridges etc already built and take the fun out of it for me.
The good thing is that you don't get to see the structures until you connect the chiral Network to each area. And then I think there is an option to show what structures you want to see. I'm not sure. It's not so much that it gets in the way though. I haven't messed with it at all and it's not affecting anything
Oh God please anyone watching this now...... DO NOT PUT CARGO ON THE GROUND TO REPAIR SPRAY!!!!! just put any equipment down so any cargo is nicely directly on your back and click square. You barely ever use a full can unless you really damaged a lot of cargo. Putting it down is a huge waste.
you know speaking of likes I truly love your content but everyday that you toss to hit the like button without even watching a video because it supports you just drives me crazy
@@Nathan-is7li Very much. I know that it has a great story that I need to continue but lately all I've been doing is getting materials and helping my fellow porters build their structures 😀

Don't use his "container repair spray" tactic. You need to have 1 or 2 while u on the Rd cause if your pkg case gets damaged enough then whatever is inside will take damage. When u turn in the pks all they care about is the condition of the GOODS not the CASE!!! YES TWO DIFFERENT DAMAGE %'S ONE FOR GOODS N ONE FOR CASE. So reparing your pks right before you leave or turn them in makes no difference and zero sense!!!
HUGE TIP: Rather than unloading packages and using the repair spray, take the repair spray and “spray backwards” option! It sprays ALL your packages at the same time!!
It’s faster and more efficient!!!
It only gets what on your back directly, this won't work for what's on your body or stacked too high.
Repair spray is AOE it repairs multiple packages and still drains at the same rate
Also relevant container damage doesn't effect your score, only damage to the cargo itself

11) the trucks you make have way more space than the MULE's. They have extra space to put equipment while MULE's have the same space between equipment and packages.
12) the baseball cap actually gives you stamina benefits. Just like the ugly otter hood.
13)USE THE RESOURCES. dont hoard them. Especially to build the roads. Its gonna save you time and frustration. You will end up with tons of stuff anyway SHARED from other people.
14) you can take stuff offered by others like materials, equipment and trucks/bikes. Just remember to GIVE BACK. Its a social game. Dont be an asshole. You will get likes and only more stuff in return. Its more fun for everyone this way.
15) if you are in need of equipment you can ask for a player delivery in the menu.
@@kato093Wow! Your cmt has the best hints I've seen. You're awesome. Thx kato.
@@valoriel4464 oh thanks. Heres some more then lol
You can ride the hoverboard like a skateboard but if you crash you will fall
You can piss on and near BTs to chase them away.

Ji Yo how was it (without spoilers) im still on chapter 3 hows the rest of the game?
Im with you man. Im gonna need an intervention to stop. I love it.
Although it seems a boring game but it is addicting
I spent ages building roads and everyone drives straight past the like thing though 😞
Ill give u a like
Rafael Garza 😭 Thanks 👍. I am the embodiment of Eric Cartman
I feel ya lol I built plenty of roads and they’re not getting likes... but van roads even get likes??
I'll give you all the likes
Along the road if you put down the speed boost sign in the center of the road people are more likely to drive through for a few reasons.
1. They get a speed boost when you drive through it
No way will that work." And journey got the same walking comments to an extent but the experience of those games broke the mold people were used to and became staples for new grounds in game design and what a game could be
No one can have a valid opinion that means anything on any game if they've never played it, that's not unique to this one.
The racing game part was a good analogy.
This game is a masterpiece

It is the best game I’ve played and playing 2019.
Also I’ve yet to see this tip yet
If you are fighting a BT monster (chasers I think they are called)
Most people just hit it with HG and run away rinse and repeat or when you get guns they just shoot at it
If you first hit it with a hematic grenade and then shoot the BT through the blood cloud that forms you will do a TON of extra damage to it.
The blood clouds turn your ammo into blood soaked bullets of pain and revenge.
I laughed my ass off earlier because I found out when you get spotted and they're trying to drag you down you can urinate on them and it'll give you a window to escape.
It's worth it to eliminate chasers. Lot of Chiral Crystal's from them.
The fact that you can make Norman Reedus drink Monster Energy makes me wanna play this game
Drinking monster and wearing a maga hat 😆
Play it. Its amazing
Matt F is you do a wheelie on the motorcycle you can drive over most rocks easily
The power to urinate is my favourite feature

Repairing with the spray repairs the container, not the item! Container is like armor for item inside!
Equip weapons/tools to tool rack and tap right d pad to easily pull out and put away as needed when entering combat. Works with anything attached to tool rack.
I personally built the whole road in the game and now is very easy to get the cargo done
I like the game soooo much! It starts slowly and gaining speed more and more as it goes on! Not for everyone, but that it is the cool thing about it

You need special alloys and chiral crystals. Everyone knows that!
Do some standard orders to free some chiral bandwidth and start from Capital knot city and connect every city via zip lines, thats what I did and now im getting perfect timed and conditions deliveries from city to city.

I dont think it kills mules when you bola gun them in the river (or water). Instead, it knocks them out. You will see an inflatable emergency device around their neck.

With the Bola Gun fire around the enemies neck to knock them out thus preventing them from getting back up, also any enemies restrained by the Bola Gun can be kicked to knock them out
After using the Bola gun, walk up to the tied up mule and kick them with the square button. That will knock them out.
I can't believe you didn't mention how bola headshot instantly KO's enemies, or how you can knock them out permanently by kicking them while they're tied up

mark davis Np, good thing to note is that there is a collectible data chip in every MULE/terrorist camp. Just scan with R1 and it should pop up

Death stranding may be a new category in gaming. This may be the start of something big.

If you're AT the delivery point... just deliver. The container condition won't matter as it's just the shell. And the Container Repair Spray does NOT fix the cargo if it did get damaged.
Using the bola gun and hitting the mules on the face will instantly down them longer and plus you can kick down enemies to again, knock them out
This was the best list I’ve found so far.
You can take the Bridges trucks into the Distribution centre. Park them on the platform you use to go down to private room, and they will be parked in garage for you. Its the Mule trucks only you cannot park in the centers. I found that out last night.
Damn I didn’t know you could claim loot using that feature. Definitely gonna be doing that now
Munzz97 I usually just pick up list cargo between the way stations and deliver it myself and just keep going back and forth until everything has been delivered.
I spent most of last night in cargo menu.

Headshots with the bola gun will down enemies just like your fists will.

After using the Bola gun you can run up to them and kick them to knock them out. Also if you aim for their neck the Bola gun immediately knocks them out
Thanks for the DS vids. Aren’t many YT channels w good DS content.
protip for driving trucks through BT zones: you can easily escape tar hunters by boosting as they open the door to your truck, if you manage to get pulled out you should quicky switch to a hermetic grenade and toss it right at your feet, it should stun the tar hunters long enough for you to get out of their mini-pool, from what ive seen they wont pull the truck fully into the pit so you just need to wait for them to go away and hop right back in the truck, if you are using a covered bridges truck all your cargo should be completely unharmed
Get to the edge. Pull it out and pee on the guys trying to pull u under
I use the rope for combat, i dodge and grab them instantly with the rope. Worked 100% of the time .
Using the rope to parry then attack with it again after the parry to down and tie them up. Super easy to do, and they stay down for a long time.
I think this game depends on if you like living your life through games and like watching movie games or if your actually like to play games and dont like movie type games
Ccubed92 not true this is most certainly a game. It’s got a lot to do.
When fighting against mules if you shoot them in the head with the Bola gun (just line the light beam across their head) it knocks them out instantly.

It only matters if your cargo gets damaged. Container damage % makes no difference when it comes to the delivery
@D A D D Y Well, you deliver the cargo, not the container :)
All i can say for the rope is there is no penalty for mashing it like in souls games you dont need to time it i just madh r2 the whole time and it instant paries and then knocks them out

What’s a good amount of supplies to carry? Like having a bola gun, container spray, climbing anchor, ladder, grenades, it seems like a lot.
1 grenade launcher has sleeping bombs and its better than carrying bola. Allso can use it agaimst bts
you can just turn the spray on yourself, no need to drop the packages on the ground. it hits everything this way.
Using the Bola gun from a distance then running up on the enemy and pressing square will kick them rendering the unconscious
Does repairing the cointainer right before the pickup really do something?
I thought, the condition of the item inside is important, not the container itself.
Or is the item also repaired with the spray?
"Container Repair Spray" 😂- fukn Kojima!

The spray is super useful after walking around alot in the rain.
