Peavey amps are awesome. I've always used Peavey in my years as a teenager and present day. They always seem to put out. Until they blow out. Killer killer amps. I have a 5150 212 combo. And I have a lot of fun playing it. Peavey for life. 🤘✌️
I just ordered this one yesterday. This thing sounds sick. I needed a side amp cause I got the peavey 6505 2x12 the other month, and well. Peavey fangirl now :D
Here's the problem. I've already got G.A.S. - AND, I am a long-time Peavey owner. I still have my Peavey Renown I bought new in 1980 or 1981. But when I see Chuck's videos, I end up getting the urge to go out and by more. In addition to the Renown, I also have a Studio Pro, a Studio Pro 40, an Audition 20, and a KB100. I feel like it's only a matter of time before I fall off the wagon again and end up purchasing a Bandit or, worse yet, a Deuce or a Classic. I'm gonna need a bigger house.
This amp kicks butt! I don't use the distortion channels, only the clean. I keep the t.dynamics at 10-11 o'clock and use an OD pedal at low gain for a great vintage sound. It weighs a lot, injured my back while carrying it with 1 hand. This is a 2-handed amp 😄
Right on. I’ve had a few Peavey related injuries through the years. It was a KB300 with a 15” black widow that did my back in as a teenager. I also fell down the stairs with a teal stripe bandit, managed to only have a sprained ankle, but the amp was unscathed.
Great video and awesome playing. I have an amp exactly like that but have had it stashed in my storage building ever since I got it while remodeling my house and building my garage which houses my studio. I CANNOT WAIT to get that rascal out and I hope it sounds even 90% as good as this demo! Thanks
Awesome!! I bought one of these last month. It's my main amp due to my twin reverb is way to heavy. This isn't really light but still 20 pounds lighter...lol
@@vibearato honestly it was very close between them, both great amps- the 65 seemed to have a very slight lil more 'tubey' sound to me. the SS I think better for metal than the 65 and can get lil nicer clean tones too.
I just got one last week and it has a little hiss on all volumes but yours SEEMS to be dead quiet unless you tweaked the audio... did you? Also love to hear you fighting the urge to play Raining Blood lmao. Other than that, its a great amp
Hmm, I didn’t alter the audio, but I’ve never noticed any hiss beyond normal amp hiss. I do have a Hum-x on my power strip that all my gear is plugged into, I don’t know if that really works though lol.
@@Chucksguitargeekery Thanks for your time, Chuck! This is the first real amp I have bought in a long time (was into the modeling thing for the past 4-5 years) so I forget what actual amp hiss is like. Gonna have to go to the guitar store and find out. Great demo by the way! really appreciate your time
Huh? Couldn’t hear you! Lol. I have earbuds in that are somewhat noise canceling to monitor the mic’d sound. That being said, I rarely crank anything up in the room, 99% of my playing is through IR’s and earbuds at a reasonable volume.
Have a silver stripe sheffield that I got off Craig's list for 10 bucks. Guy said it didn't work, that happens when the cord is broken.........pulled a cord from an old amp, 10 minutes later, thing rocks. Also have a transformer 112, but the silver stripe kicks it.
Replace the sheffield with an Eminence SwampThang. Same killer tone ,not quite as shrill in the highs, much fuller bottom end. Huge improvment for rock & metal
I have a Swamp Thang in my Bandit 65. Definitely a killer speaker. I am keeping my eyes open for something for this silver stripe, not quite sure yet. Maybe a Cannibis Rex .
thanks man, you help me in deciding to choose between teal and silver, i prefer old school.metal sound so I'm going for the teal, picking it in a while for 60 bucks 😁
I know it has two effects loops essentially, and I think one is for line-level effects (like most rack effects) and another is for instrument level (like pedals). Not sure which is which lol.

Excellent and versatile sounds from an old amplifier. Good review. Fortunately, I have it. 😊
Thank you. Bought one from a friend and I love it. This video helped me a lot!
I love your playing!
This is my amp as well, just loving it, dont need anything more.
Nice! Honestly, if I could only have one amp for the rest of my life, it would be this amp. It’s so versatile and reliable.
Got really close to an authentic Carlos Santana sound starting at the :40 mark.
Nice demo of Peavey transtube silverstrip i have this one is real good amp !
I bought a like new Fender Strat for $100 and the guy threw in a stand and a Peavey Revolution 112 Silver Stripe for free. It even has the foot pedal.
Hey! That really. Sounds great. Nice playing too.
I have this amp and like it a lot. Great video!!

Just snagged one for $60..sounds great, still has the Sheffield. My '84 bandit 65 beat it tho in a shootout
do you remember what you liked and what you didn't like better about the 65?

just got the special 212 silver stripe for $150 AUS ☺
exactly what Im looking for. hard to find in the US

Go to a shop and get some contact cleaner (and a screwdriver). Heaps of videos describing how to clean pots. It might help.
Can you please explain again how you are able to turn the volume on the amp up high in a small room

New sub here, what's your OD or distortion of choice for the Bandit? I think I see a Mosky box on your amp. Is it a Silver Horse?
Thanks! Honestly, if I had to have one dirt box, it’s a Proco Rat. It covers pretty much everything.
Nice amplifier 😊

That’s what I love about solid state peavey, when they “don’t work,” it’s usually a simple fix. Great score!

Have you ever cleaned the pots on a silver stripe bandit?
I need to, the ones on this amp are pretty scratchy.
@@Chucksguitargeekery bro make a video cus the pots on mine are REALLY bad and i dont know how to clean pots lmao
@@despresso98are you talking about noise made when knobs are turned?
sounds like angel of death riff
Pretty much any heavy riffs I try will be heavily influenced by the Big 4 🤷♂️

No one ever explains how to use the effects loop on these things. Help?
I love this amp but havent cracked that yet
