  • Welcome to DIY Concrete Countertops! This channel is aimed at the average DIYer who may want to explore concrete for a home improvement project but isnt sure where to begin. The goal is to provide some insight into the vast and intimidating world of concrete. This channel will be attacking the subject from the angle of easily acquired materials, basic skills and very do-able/entry level projects. Im by no means an expert on the subject of concrete and wont pitch myself as one, Ive simply learned a few things along the way that Id like to share with the next DIYer who may be curious about DIY CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS.

Can you do a video on setting up the mold using z forms for in place counter tops? Basically from the point right after the cabinets are placed to right before you start pouring concrete. Your videos are very informative, thank you.

I so appreciate you sharing your knowledge and the videos are really helpful. It's clear you know what you're talking about. Can you recommend tools? I'm just starting getting handy and I don't want to learn by error what cheap tools are a waste of time...i.e., would any float do? Thx for putting this out!

Probably a silly question, but when doing a pour in place counter do i have to bolt it to the frame or anything or is just the weight of it enough to keep it in place?

How did you stain the cement to get the look that you show at the 1:12 mark???

Spray bottles, foam brushes and layering from lightest to darkest.

I began by outlining the bands with black and cola to create distinct edges. I used coffee brown in varying dilutions as a base on the main area and avocado green inside the bands, Thanks for the comments!
