Paul Fisher spent over a million of his own money to develop the zero gravity astronaut pen. NASA paid nominal amounts to buy them. Not nearly a billion dollars.
Mine doesn't do that , but the cap o matic itself is in my view the least sturdy of the line. Actually going to start carrying the AG 7, want something different that you don't see others with that often and they are dependable
Every day. Whether it's signing a receipt or jotting down a phone number. I carry a Zebra F701 with a Fisher cartridge inside. Wouldn't trade the cartridge for any other out there.
Myth. It was one million of Paul Fisher's own money that he spent to make his American Dream. Pencils can cause fires, malfunctions when the graphite breaks and gets into the switches and can also get into eyes, noses and throats and cause problems for the astronauts.
I use the Space Pen refill in my Parker Jotter
0:24 Notice the "American Optical Flight Goggle 58" AKA Don Drapers sunglasses....the original ones
Who came here after watching 3 idiots ?
making a pen to go to space for a couple billion dollars seems worth it lol

Misinformation is strong here
Uni-ball POWER TANK does the same... for $3.30
@@LazyStory no, it doesn’t
I bought a pen cost about $20 for a small one

Cross pens are made in China nowadays. Even though I have an old one, the new ink refill is made in China.
cliz305 Fisher makes a CROSS size refill.
I’ve had bullet , tech touch and clutch but my cap o magic is awful . It breaks apart every time it’s in my pocket

Not all Fisher pens are made in the U.S.A. The Fisher space pen flashlight pen is made in China. THAT IS THE TRUTH.
We have one!!!
OMG !!!! I have one and I didn't know the importance of it, till now. God love the USA !!!
great ....
Very cool
Do Americans write anymore?
Yes, and it has been proven that people retain information more readily when they spend the time to write it down manually.

The question is when will fisher pens for displays come out. And I mean real pens for writing and sketching.
🙄
50 million.... instead of a pencil

Pencils cant be used. It wasnt nasa. It wasnt 50 million dollars.
Small hint. You can use pencil in space.
Pencil lead can be a dangerous potential fire hazard in zero gravity.
Gabriel Reyes not only that but can go inside equipment.
and pencil lead doesn't dust up or break even on the Earth?
It probably does, @@jjman533 but on earth we have gravity to keep it from floating into our throats and important electrical switches.
No, you cant
