If you refuse a gift 6 times and they're STILL offering, I'd accept just to move the conversation forward.
I always liked the Florida episodes. They really nailed it.
seinfeld had the best casting ever , every part @@ArtVandelayOfficial
Any episodes that involve the parents is an instant gold mine, especially if Frank was in it… he was my favorite! 😂😂
Jack asked him six times. At a certain point, what did he expect?
He expected to be seen as very generous and willing to give it away, while also expecting Jerry to politely decline and assume it would be impolite to do so. That way Jack gets to keep the pen but also gets the credit for offering it. It was virtue signalling gone wrong.
@@VestinVestin Oh, I get that after someone turns it down two or three times, but it's the fact that he kept going that did him in.
Jack was an awesome character and I'm glad they didn't overuse him.
He is great, but I think he could have been used a couple times more, dude was hilarious, and really funny with bvery thick brooklyn accent
Larry David's voice and shouts off the screen is one of the best thing in this show
Larry David yelling in the background while jerrys tryna do his act 😂😂
There should have been a Seinfeld spin off called Del Boca Vista with George and Jerry's parents, Klompus, the Mandelbaums. It would have been gold Jerry, gold!
If they had George’s parents move down there and that would have been the best comedy spin-off ever. 😂
This is funny, but a little bit goes a long way - a full series would be a little too much to take I think, lol.
I feel like part of the genius of the seinfeld show was that most of the hilarious side characters were used for only 2 or 3 episodes. Really kept the show fresh even decades later. Even with a character like newman, the magic would've worn off if he was used more and more
Fantastic scene; one of Seinfeld's best. Jack Klompus killed every scene he was in. Hilarious.
R.I.P. Liz Sheridan (1929-2022) she did a good job playing Jerry's mom. TT
@@dncviorel Its not. Im just curious thats all. Its no problem is she was or not.
@@theintrovertedaspie9095 I think a lot of Jewish people were involved in Seinfeld, so who knows. George and Elaine are also Jewish, I think.
Everything Jerry does at his parents condo sets off a horrible chain reaction, he should just stay in New York.
Haha, it has everything to do with older people, particularly those who move to Florida, and less to do with Jerry. Bits like this are infinitely more amusing to me now as I'm in Jerry's age group (well, how old he was then) with older parents.
1:30 "well, he was wrong"
HILARIOUS
i love how probably everyone at the retirement place knows about the pen
Liz Sheridan is a treasure. The moment the door closes “why’d you take his pen for?” Lol 😂 RIP 🙏🏽❤️
This episode perfectly encapsulates the dynamic between my mom and her many sisters. ABSOLUTE INSANITY YOU GOTTA SEE TO BELIEVE!
Jerry in the sunglasses trying to do a stand-up routine while Morty and Jack fight in the background … comedy gold.
One of the very best episodes.
The whole sequence where Klompus roasts Morty is wonderful.
Hard to believe that Klompus' actor Sandy Baron was only 55 years old here!
His hair actually looked like it was coloured in silver to make him look older, there not natural greys.
@@Jotinko
Well, he was a heavy lifelong smoker and eventually developed emphysema.
My favourite show to come out of America, never ending classic scenes, this one is up there with the greats, no show has made me laugh like Seinfeld. " All I said was I like the pen" always gets me, just love the way Jerry delivered that line.
This is what makes Seinfeld so funny.
The absolute mayhem during the last 40 seconds is ridiculous😂
Jerry and Elaine could come back and play the crazy parents now.
"4:41 All I said was I liked the pen" lol
You can hear Larry David yelled "I want a bottle of scotch" right before then
OF COOOOURSE I wanted it! Love that delivery.
The Florida casting was some of the best in the show.
the outtakes for this must be hilarious. How they could keep it straight is beyond me.
They cut it off right behind Elaine yells out “Stella”. So funny 😂.
It's so funny the rivalry between Morty and Jack.
Yes, Jerry was right.... a (severe) lunatic asylum😆😆. Brilliant actors - all of them-
The level of pure raging insanity they all let out over a pen is literally one of the highlights of this show ❤️🙏😂 what an amazing writing!!
That Jack Dude was a Straight Fooool!!
Omg jack and Morty going back and forth is priceless 😅
"Do me a personal favor" I'm so using that line. 😂
One of the best episodes of the show
"That Pen Is Out Of This World" is what is printed on Jack Klumpus's Grave Marker!
My therapist recommended I watch this 🤣. So relatable
Because there’s nothing like calming down with a turbulent episode of Seinfeld.
He practically begged me for it😂😂.
'I LOVE SPONGE CAKE!'
This whole episode was lit 🙌🏻 Never thought I'd laugh with George and Kramer not being in an episode 😅
@@MiniMaxiSlots he was. He was actually afraid the show was going to focus more on Jerry and Elaine’s relationship meaning he would be less important to the show so he told Larry David if he ever excluded him from another episode, just write him out completely. I guess Jason Alexander has a lot of insecurity when working on Seinfeld, which made him the perfect casting choice for George as that was a big part of George’s personality.
The classic sponge cake defense for taking the pen back!! Love the writing! 🤣
This was funny as hell! Love these Florida episodes.
I'd watch a 10 hour version of this exchange
I like how he says take the pen
My grandpa was just like Jack where if he gave you something, you knew you'd be hooked into a favor down the road or he'd use it like he saved the world from a superhero's villain telling everyone and their dog.
This show is so timeless. Saw it already like 30 years ago and still laughing my butt of.
The secondary casting is perfect; they have to be related to Larry david!
5 more seconds and Elaine screams out .... Stella....!!!!!
Fun fact: Larry David's father was called Morty
I love the utter insanity of everyone who lives in this retirement community.
I find it funny how they make a big deal outta the smallest things!....the genius of Seinfeld!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😆💯
"He gives my son a pen and then he takes it!" LOL!
1:33 The great Ann Morgan Guilbert from "The Dick Van Dyke Show"!
This is one of my fav episodes, not because of the Pen but because of "Steeeeellla" drugged up Elaine is the best🤣. In my opinion Jerry shouldn't have taken the pen though.
All I said was I like the pen..
Hahahha
It"s amazing how they could do a whole episode about just a pen 😁☺️
Who else was waiting for Elaine to holler, Stelllaaaa!
Pure chaos. Absolute chaos.
The moment you realize most of the old cast from Seinfeld has passed away. Guess we all are getting older.
Jack and Morty were as funny as Jerry and Newman.
Jack's acting was awesome all the time.
The poor guy with this pen :(, and poor jerry for pointing out the pen in the first place.
Well Jerry ONLY asked him where he got it from, he didn't ask for it. The guy pushed it on him, after he refused it several times.. Jerry has 0 fault in this
"I'D RATHER HAVE A BOTTLE OF SCOTCH!!!!!"
Great callback to this in the final season of Curb!
This is honestly one of the funniest episodes of the show, which is saying a lot considering neither George nor Kramer are in it
"I LOVE SPONGE CAKE!!"
Did they ever make a Jack Klompus compilation? I feel like we're missing this...
4:18 I never noticed but in those sunglasses, Jerry is a younger version of the President 😎😂 holy cow
and to this day, this is EXACTLY how floridians over 65 dress....God bless them!
Morty: I don't want it
Jack: I don't want it at 3:26 to 3:27 lol
Of course I wanted it! I love sponge cake😂😂
4:27 - who are you? 😂
I can't believe the best part at the end got cut
Cmon just fuckin Brilliant 👏...love you Jerry
This episode nearly caused Jason Alexander to quit the series.
Yeah, because he wasn't in it. Neither was Kramer but he didn't throw a hissy fit.
He claimed he was self conscious and feared he would fade away in favor of more Jerry/Elaine storylines.
That is NOT true.
After hearing he wasn't going to be in the episode, he went up to Larry David and said: "Next time you do this, do it permanently." Apparently he was serious in that moment. But he did not "nearly quit", because David assured him that he would be in every episode from that on.
"Of course I wanted it! I LOVE, SPONGE CAKE!"
Never accept anything for anyone unless you are prepared to hear about it for the rest of your life.
I think the funniest thing about this episode is how realistic it, just embellished some.
Helen's the only one who understands the cultural structure among retirees in Florida.
That exactly how my dad is with me.. he has any new cool toy, and its mine. Lol
morty was such a bro.
Klompus was WAY heavier here than in later episodes. He dropped a ton of weight.
Actor Sandy Baron was rather ill with emphysema later in the series and died not even three years after the show ended.
Jack reminds me of Johnny T 🤣
“C’MON!”
jerry trying to hold an audience with one of his acts is a terrible idea lol
Why'd you cut out the Elaine scream
The woman in the teal sweater is fantastic 🤣
@@Metsfan1975 Millie Helper! (I forgot her real name!) She's very funny here.
Is it weird that I want to move to one of these places like Kramer ?!! Lol
JACK IS THE MAN!!
lol. My penpal from England sent me one of those pens for Christmas way back then.
" TAKE DA PEEEENNNNNN!!!"
Is that grandma yetta
Jerry's dad going through that guy's pockets for the pen.
“You know, Jack. You’ve got a hell of a nerve taking that kid’s pen.” I’ve ALWAYS thought it was hilarious how jerry’s dad delivered that line 😂😂😂
Hahaha, me too, the way it explodes out of him.
Maybe his best line from the show.
It's wild how in the end when Jack's teeth are damaged, Morty is shaking him down for the pin.
Now that's a Father.
You buy a Cadillac for a guy like that.
Morty is the unsung hero of the show.
I love when he visits Elaine at work and asks about what the square footage was of her office and what happened to a deli that used to be downstairs 30 years ago lmao
