I’m just saying Steven is such a good food reviewer. He describes the meal to such an extent that I can almost taste it. Keep up the good work Steven. Thank you Mandy these are great recipes. I’ll try them both soon.
I make a version of lo mein using ramen noodles. Sauteed shrimp, thin sliced steak and chicken. I saute onions and coleslaw mix. Add everything together and I add in just enough soy sauce to coat.
I love you guys. You’re always so cheerful and you’re great at teaching us how to follow the recipe. I had a giggle when you asked Steven if Asian food was his favourite. I thought “food is Steven’s favourite.” I love his enthusiasm and his willingness to try new recipes. You both are a delight. I also enjoy seeing Cole and hearing his reviews.
My daughter was just starting to cook Ramen when I saw this. I rescued half of the noodles and we tried a comparison of your recipe vs. standard flavor packet. Honestly, they cooked in almost the same time. My 11 yr old admitted that yours tasted great.
What a cool Mom u are! I love that u are teaching her at such a young age. Do u guys watch Master Chef Jr? It's so inspiring to see little people master the kitchen! Way to go Heather! 🥰👏👏👏
Canned chicken or canned roast beef are quick and easy protein for ramen. So glad you are doing better. Y'all are such a beautiful addition to the day.
I love Asian food. I use coconut amino for low sodium diet. I use brown sugar and a splash of rice vingar. I am going to add this to my meal prep this week and add shrimp.
Great ideas to upgrade Ramen Noodles! Thank you so much, Mandy. It's great to see Steven cooking away there with you. Steven, you describe food and It's almost like I can smell and taste it. Hope you have a great week. We sure do appreciate the joy you bring into our kitchens!❤😊
For the first recipe; if you want the noodles to be saucier, add a little water after mixing the noodles back into the pan because the hot noodles will soak up any liquid in the sauce like a sponge.
I can't wait to make both recipes. I have all of the ingredients. I made your blueberry bread on Sunday. It was a huge hit. Tonight, I'm making the Velveeta Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese. I can't wait. I've made many of your recipes, and they've been a big hit. Thank you for all of the economical, great tasting recipes that you and Steven give us. All 3 of you are a ray of sunshine.
Love how you guys do your cooking and meals, plus the comments from the commentator and son is great... I wish my husband would have been like Steven for sure... He appreciates his and your cooking I love it... Your two are a great couple.. thank you for the video.... God bless y'all and thank you for being you.... 🙏❤️❤️🥰
I love Ramen. I usually add an egg, and it cooks so like it is poached and add leftover meat, usually chicken. I just use the flavor packet that comes with it.
I make “Poor Man’s Stroganoff” with beef ramen - a pound of ground beef cooked and seasoned, cook a couple packs of noodles - drain most of the liquid - add seasoning pack, a little extra beef bouillon, sour cream - mix in beef and top with green onions- DELISH!
You mentioned the vinegar was tart. I love to put pinapple juice in teriyaki. It gives sweetness with a brightness that makes it not need vinegar and it needs way less sugar or honey.
Ok Mandy, now ur cookin in my wheelhouse! I have a great add in idea to balance the tart: add 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter & finish it with chopped Peanuts & drizzled Coconut Milk & u will grab more Thai flavors into the whole mix. I think a soft boiled egg, & some crunchy raw Coleslaw Mix or if u can find them Bean Sprouts. Ooh, almost forgot, thinly sliced radishes for peppery crunch & that gorgeous pink color. I don't boil the noodles bc they just need a couple minutes of warm water to hydrate & the sauce is hot so that will heat them back up. If u don't want to do a soft boiled egg, then soft scrambled egg is delightful & would coat the noodles with a silky texture. When making plain ramen, it's delish to wisk in a scrambled egg but it's best to temper it to the heat or u will get coagulated chunks of egg. I use this egg technique in the Creamy Chicken Ramen - ooh so good & hearty for when ur tummy needs a rest but still fill it with a good protein. In my Creamy Chicken, I add more water than is required since the sodium is so high & turn it into more than 1 meal. Mandy, this is going the extra mile in showing care & consideration for poor folks like me; u are so kind & considerate! Thank u for these wonderful recipes! ❤
I love watching you because of you! As you prepare a recipe, I think of ways to make it without wheat and a low-carb version. I will use zucchini noodles, arrowroot powder as a thickener, brown sugar monk fruit, and tamari instead of soy sauce. I can't wait! These look so stinking good!
@@karibear6504 Definitely don't use super lean Turkey for hamburgers & maybe fine chopped onion to keep moisture in them. When doing them in a pan, I always add butter to baste it & helps caramelize the meat. Doesn't butter make everything better?!!
These look great! You may have better luck with the noodles not getting sticky if you save a cup of pasta water and pour on at the same time you mix all together. It works great
@@maricelisfigueroa856 with some hot sauce and soy sauce. After boiling the noodles add some of the water to the PB(bout 2 tbsp) and the flavorings and stir to make a thin paste/thick broth. Drain and add the noodles. Life-changing.
All you need is some yum yum sauce and sweet carrots! I know its not Japanese, but I could drink that stuff as Steven says! Lol! Thanks for sharing y'all! ❤️
Hi! I made the Teriyaki noodles tonight but I wanted to make it into a full meal. So I browned a pound of hamburger, used two packets of noodles and added peas and a can of water chestnuts. We loved it! Thank you for the wonderful recipes!!
I love making stir fry ramen. I like to cook minced garlic in some oil on low until it’s golden brown. It gets nice and crunchy and is so good in the stirfry…
Great recipe improvs. One of my favorites is to buy pre-sliced fajita beef strips at the grocery store meat department and pre-cook them. And I also buy broccoli florets in the produce department, adding these and the fajita strips to the noodles. And what you have created is a homemade version of beef and broccoli with noodles. I'll leave the spice combination up to you.
My kids love Mexican food. My son was little he loved maraschino cherries. He would put them in his bean and cheese burritos at this one restaurant . They first looked at him weirdly. He called it his sweet and beanie burrito. They tried it and said not bad. Are their any recipes using the noodles that aren’t Asian recipes?
All of that looks beautiful, the teriyaki would be wonderful with some chicken/steak, all three of you guys have such a wonderful dynamic and I love watching you!
Both recipes look delicious. I know you like to use prepared garlic and ginger, but for those who like using fresh, I've found a way to chop both easily. After you peel the garlic and gingerroot, put them in a mini food processor and whirl away. It's perfect.
I do the chicken one. I scramble a couple of eggs and cook in boiling h2o 1st. Scoop them out and add the noodles and season pack. Add parsley and the eggs back in. That way you have protein with ur carbs.
Yumm! I never use the flavor packet, just make my own version of it, with some veggies and a medium boiled egg. Sometimes i top it of with fried unions or sesame seeds.
When using really sticky ingredients, like honey, spray the measuring spoon with a little oil and the sticky ingredient will slide off the spoon easily.
We rarely do Ramen! It's the thing we do when we are sick and canned soup we are just over! And the things extra I've done it use broth instead of water , add a protein! I see future me upgrading more ty lol
Brown sugar taste makes a huge difference. The honey will bring sweet but a different sweet. Does he not like brown sugar or just wanted honey? def. try it with the brown sugar. they both looked good though. 💜
I always forget to buy ramen since it’s not something I want very often, but I’d definitely try these. Also, I have the same amber cookie jar that you have on your hutch. It was my mother’s, and has homemade molasses cookies in it right now.❤
We just love watching you all! I actually made your lemon garlic asparagus from your Easter video. YUM!! Watching the Ramen video, I make something similar to the Asian flavored one, but with ground beef added. P.S. LOVE your floral knives. Would love to know where you got them?
Hey Mandy! I just love you guys and Gracie Lou of course! I am redoing my kitchen and love yours and your layout! Could you let me know the length of your cabinets etc! Thank you ! Have a great day!
Interesting recipes, I've done your meatloaf which was very good, your chicken with cream cheese now a favorite, and now will try these maybe not the spicy we have tender bellys😅😅

Now that’s exactly the way I was thinking of making this by adding some shrimp. A little brown sugar sounds about right too
I don’t throw away seasoning packs. I use seasoning packs to season other dishes.
Ooh good idea 💡.
To much sodium in those packets. I don’t use them
Use a little of the starchy water you boiled the noodles in to help make it saucier.😋

I can never flip veggies like that. Steven I'm amazed! These recipes both look like quick meals to try.
Both look great! Can’t beat Ramen noodles!! ❤❤
I hadn’t actually thought about ditching the flavor packet and making my own sauce. THANKS!
I'm always looking for creative recipes using ramen noodles. Thank you for these two.

The spicy ramen noodles I could see adding some shrimp 🦐 to that. Yummy 😋
Hi Mandy. I’m all for upgrading Ramen. Thanks for sharing my friend! 🤗💕
That teriyaki Ramen looks killer. I bet it would be amazing with sliced onion.

I never use the seasoning packet. Too Salty!! I love your video!! I, too, add fresh or frozen veggies and usually a Sriracha sauce.

Don't throw the seasoning packs away. They make a great addition to things like a pasta salad or a slow cooker roast.
Or Turkey Burgers.

Thank you for sharing these recipes. Both looked delicious. God bless you and your family. 🙏🙏🙏❤
This looks delicious I can hardly wait to make them thank you guys
These look great! You may have better luck with the noodles not getting sticky if you save a cup of pasta water and pour on at the same time you mix all together. It works great
Great tip, thanks!
I had ramen last night and tried a new way to prepare it using peanut butter and the flavor packet. It was really good.
My former coworkers told me I eat and make weird food, but they have no problem eating peanut dishes at the Asia buffet.
Just the flavor packet and peanut butter?
