Cannot wait for the worm father soon, will he be bigger or a bit smaller then the worm mother? Also, I wonder if there are more worm gods that we've haven't heard of as of yet
I haven't played in 2 years. I don't even own a gaming system anymore. But I still love the destiny lore. Was always one of the better written lore of any game I've played
Light shines brightest in the deepest Dark. I think that's entirely intentional. Guardians are not at their pinnacle of power unless contesting a pinnacle of contrary power.
We were better than him. Not stronger, for he could obliterate us with but a single kick. but better, because we could just dodge his kicks. He was astonished by the incredible technique of "just dodge LOL", then got shot and died.
It really feels like we're getting closer to some sort of ultimate truth of the universe, and that makes the entire history of this channel so much more worth it.
Larry is my favorite. I've always wondered why the leviathan isn't mentioned after the sisters encounter with it. Of course I wanted to see it but Rhulk had other plans. I'm still curious about its power and what it was and where it came from
I also hope we get to learn more about it, what's it's origin and it's relation to the light/traveler if any? In hindsight his warning to the sisters is much sadder considering it knew what faith awaited them in the deep. it's also curious that Calus has a vessel of the same name but I think it's merely coincidence.
I've always thought that the three sisters went into the water and evaded the Leviathan to meet the worm gods. Looks like Rhulk did the dirty work for them and brought the worm gods to them.
With how powerful and far reaching the witness is I’m really starting to wonder how the vex fit into everything. They seem so powerful and yet they don’t seem to be doing much and I wonder if they have anything to do with the witness or have their own goals
This opens more questions like Where did the Leviathan come from, and how did it come to know of the worm gods? Also a question for byf. When do you think that we will see from the other worm gods?

I actually really like the introductory messages of content delivery. It’s a snapshot of what will be explained and let’s me know what I need to play in game. Normally I like to play the game first and develop my own perspective before turning to these videos which personally I believe hold the community collective lore perspective. Being a good analyst means you need to see both sides. Of course this works the other way too. It tells me what I’m in for and what I need to know and will know when I am unable to play the game, such as the raid. I won’t be able to get to it for the next two weeks. So fully aware of the warning I dive in.
...wow... And so, the chain of servitude extends yet further. The worms do not commune with the Deep. At least, not out of a desire for strength, as we once believed. (Or they didn't start that way, at least.) ... They are _slaves_ to it. Them, and their Hive. The plot thickens yet further. My mind... in yet tinier pieces with each new story. There is no better time to be a Destiny lore fan than right now.
@@nakkk1613 I have a theory he's actually coming out of the vault soon. You can see saturn in the games director for destinations and savathun said he could return in 2 truths 2 lies.

Alright, I just found something pretty interesting. I went to the altar of reflection and activated the memory. It went like this. "Let's play 2 lies 2 truths." (This isn't the exact thing she said, but it's close enough) "The Traveler will fall" "The Traveler will leave" "The Traveler isn't the only one of its kind" "The hive aren't the last to be chosen by the light."
Hmm, interesting. I would say that the truths are that the Traveler will leave and that there will be other species to be chosen by the Traveler. We know from the Dark Future lore book, and Elsie's other timelines, that the Traveler ends up abandoning Humanity, and I have seen little evidence to say that it won't. If the Hive are worthy of the Light, I don't see why the Eliskni and the Cabal are should not be gifted the Light as well.
I think the lies are about the Traveler falling and there being more of them. I think it might leave and I think the Cabal or the Eliksni might get chosen.
In a tragic sense of morality, makes you almost pity the worm gods. But, they died serving their sword logic, died serving what they thought to be right. Not everyone gets to be so lucky. Another day in the life of a guardian I suppose. Awesome video.
Talk about a banger of a video, I was able to pick up on some stuff during the mission, but I appreciate Byf’s deeper info that he provided to help connect everything.
Thank you so much for this content! As a solo player, raids are a distant dream, so your videos help me to enjoy all the wonderful lore I would miss otherwise.

They aren't called the books of sorrow for nothing I guess. I find myself having more and more empathy for the hive. I really hope in the end savathuun and her siblings become allies. I actually think it might happen considering we have already made an alliance with Fallen and Cabal. Imagine all the original enemy races fighting against the darkness together
My theory as well. There is actually a PsiOps dialogue that made me believe it even more. Zavala and Caital talking, and Caital calls Sol “our” system and points out that the Cabal and fallen of house of light are alrdy allied. I could see Savathun coming back and her and lucent brood standing with us against the Witness and black fleet. Would be very cool for all main races that have been enemies to finally stand together.
There was some theory crafting about Rhulk's eyes and the symbols therein saying that while he's a Disciple of The Witness he's just the disciple of the one pyramid ship and that we might be the disciple of the pyramid on Europa.
Wow....just...wow. Not only do i feel empathy for the Worms. It just proves even further that villains and/or antagonist can be victims in pursuit from what is best for their kin and ones that matter to them. And Rhulk the twist lad he is got his just desserts.
Wow… how far up to the strings go? The Hive were puppeted by Savathun, she by the Worm Gods, them by Rhulk, and him by The Witness. Is there one that puppets him?
This video answered all my questions I had left about the origin of the hive, the relation of the wormgods to the witness. Thank you for this content, brilliant job
I think the way you're doing content is reasonable. I played on Day 1 and we couldn't get past the first encounter. Our clan had enough interest that we split into two raid teams, dividing classes and serious raiders/conquerors between the teams. We knew we wouldn't get world first, but we wanted to go in blind and discover the mechanics ourselves. I was pretty proud we made it through the first puzzle room before any of the streamers I saw, and we had a good grasp of what to do in the first encounter, but just could not seal the deal.Contest Mode was brutal for us and we played about 8 hours before saying we would try again tomorrow when it was on Normal. We were all very saddened that it was extended (we had zero error codes or drops the entire 8 hour playthrough) as it meant none of us would even be able to get it done in week one. We're all adults with jobs with a variety of days off, work schedule within the day and most of us have children. I know some people like the masochism of Contest mode, but for us it was very frustrating to make plans around getting time for a full weekend of nonstop play, only to have the last minute shuffle. I wish they had given players on day two the option of doing either one, instead of forcing contest mode. Some people may be mad there are people like me who wanted to play normal and get the 48 hour emblem "for free" by playing in normal mode in the first 48 hours (like we were told we'd be able to), or troll our team with "git gud" style comments because we don't enjoy dumping an entire mag to kill red bars, but it was kind of a no win scenario Bungie had to deal with at the last minute, and I feel any decision could have disappointed essentially the entire playerbase of the biggest day one raid ever. I hope they can learn from this and just give players the option of contest mode after 24 hours. Like honestly, if you want to do Contest mode next weekend... why not? There will almost certainly be an eventual VOG style hard mode so it doesn't feel like it would hurt to have the option.
I see your point and why it would disappoint you having the contest mode extended but while you had 8 hours of no issues we had 6 hours of constantly being kicked, unable to banner/rally to banner so no ammo/supers, random single player loss to “connecting to servers” then respawning dead. I can totally understand why they chose to extend it, it’s not really fair to make a 24 hour emblem people want then have some people randomly have substantial amounts of that time removed through no fault of their own, we stuck with it and were able to clear the raid pretty quick once the server issues stopped but I can totally get why people would say fuck it and quit because it was borderline unplayable. Imo yeah it sucks to people who now have to wait to play it next weekend it would have been worse to do nothing when it was their fault people couldn’t play and take part in the mode we only get once like every year. Like you can play all year whenever you have time we all get 24 hours a year and losing some of that to Bungie error isn’t really fair
There is no 48 hour emblem, there’s a day 1 emblem that they extended due to a lot of people having connection issues. That day 1 extension always included the extension of contest modifier. So regardless, there’s no way you were getting the emblem ‘for free’.
Dude your situation was exactly like my clan. We just wanted to figure it out and have fun, figured out the beginning easy but the contest brutality made it difficult. We had our chance and honestly were excited for the second day so we could finish it and geek out. Didn't get to, extended the mode, and we all watched vids, spoiled it... So we never got to experience it all together. Really sucked tbh. Wish I got to figure it out with my brothers not from vids.

Byf the witness and his followers arent really only using sword logic, they are also dabbling in necromancy i.e. scorn. The sword logic i feel is more a hive thing where the darkness just cares about actually having everything dead or be dead.

Dident some lore on Oryx say that he loves to die? Because its the only way in which he can be stronger? I cant recall the specifics but it made it clear that dying is the best thing in the world to him...
Same for the guardians aswell I suppose as they die continuously, it's like the ghost is our own little throne world

Rhulk really parallels Uldren Sov A LOT. Just replace The Witness’ selfish ends and manipulation and Rhulk’s need to act, prove, worship, please… with that of Uldren and Mara.
you can get a similar dialogue regarding "worm father" and worm mother being visited at the beginning of the mission, he also talks about the pyramid just being on command of witness and nothign would stop the pyramid when they call.
Cannot wait for the worm father soon, will he be bigger or a bit smaller then the worm mother? Also, I wonder if there are more worm gods that we've haven't heard of as of yet

We were better than him.
Not stronger, for he could obliterate us with but a single kick. but better, because we could just dodge his kicks. He was astonished by the incredible technique of "just dodge LOL", then got shot and died.

@@LuisEMG I mean the Leviathan ship does look like a giant fish or basking shark...

(Or they didn't start that way, at least.)
...
They are _slaves_ to it. Them, and their Hive.
The plot thickens yet further.
My mind... in yet tinier pieces with each new story.
There is no better time to be a Destiny lore fan than right now.
I gotta agree with Larry. Byf it wouldn't hurt to put markers in your video clips so we can get directly to the lore . Still love ya byf

Alright, I just found something pretty interesting. I went to the altar of reflection and activated the memory. It went like this.
"Let's play 2 lies 2 truths." (This isn't the exact thing she said, but it's close enough)
"The Traveler will fall"
"The Traveler will leave"
"The Traveler isn't the only one of its kind"
"The hive aren't the last to be chosen by the light."
I believe there are more travelers.

Talk about a banger of a video, I was able to pick up on some stuff during the mission, but I appreciate Byf’s deeper info that he provided to help connect everything.

Eyyyy
Pyramid scheme? No no no no no. It's a Multi-level Salvation Scheme
Lol good one!
This is the kinda stuff I put on when I'm grinding a catalyst. Makes time go by faster.
Completed my first clear of this raid last night so now I can watch all the videos about Rhulk, the Raid, ect. So stoked!
Wow… how far up to the strings go? The Hive were puppeted by Savathun, she by the Worm Gods, them by Rhulk, and him by The Witness. Is there one that puppets him?

Thank you for being so considerate. I love the videos and it's really awesome to see how respectful you are to everyone.
