      PSA, Bond Rings allow your character to gain SP from Arena Fights. Emblems do not.
      So if you are just a couple of SP away from a skill this could help.

    Extremely vital tip here:
    I’d recommend investing in forging Steel weapons, they end up lowering weight and I believe are the only weapons to do so, this means that with +5 you essentially got an Iron weapon in terms of weight but the power of a Silver Weapon which is massive for low-build units especially on Maddening.

    Pretty late but something I didn't notice at first is, if an inheritable skill has a better version (like stat+1, stat+2 and such), inheriting the low level one reduces the cost for the high level one(s) by the low level's cost, so it's worth for example, learning str+1 if your goal is to get, say, str+3. A +2 folkvangr also isn't expensive and is still cheaper than +5 liberation while surpassing its stats.

    I found another exploit that wasn’t mentioned in the video. For Qi adept units, they can really quickly increase their bond level with emblem rings and bracelets by using chain guard. Even if there are no units around it will automatically increase their bond level. You could take a unit fit bond level 1 to 4 in a single chapter by keeping the unit in the back line and just using chain guard with no one around.
    This also applies to specific rings and bracelets like Dimitri’s shield gambit, and Corrin’s Dragon vain ability. You can also do this to a limited degree with Lucina’s bond shield and Byleth’s instruct; but you have to be engaged to do this so you only have three turns. Also waste your engage meter so it would be best to do it if your unit can’t do anything else.

    To build on forging: STEEL! Specifically, steel weapons have inherent crit rates. Forging steel is arguably the best use of resources, because as you forge, everything gets improved: might, hit, crit, possibly weight. The Steel Dagger, in particular, can hit something like a natural 60% crit rate when fully forged and given to a Thief or Wolf Knight.

      @@ilavain I benched both about 2-3 chaps after joining each. I tried hard on Fogado but having a mage with Elwind just blatantly outclasses Fogado sadly. Their only saving grace is that bows have a high base might, but as soon as tankier wyverns appear, and they like doing this in groups, they're down to two- or even just threeshotting them. And then afterwards having to huddle them in, because they're ridiculously squishy. I got better things to do on my iron mans than to coddle some none-delivering archers.
      Picking fights carefully is all well and nice, but if half the map is off limits because they can't even dent the enemy and keel over by mere sight of something sharp,, they're a liability and not an asset.
      I rather take a sturdier Louis and give them a good, oldfashioned silver-greatlance-whacking, which works on pretty much any old enemy, than trying to figure out on which enemy Fogado or Alcryst even manage to do some semblance of damage. Couple Notes:
    Promote Early - Another interesting engage attack option for Celine is if you make her a sniper or a thief she has a very high luck stat and respectable str, dex, and spd growths. You can pair her with Leif for a good chance to get 1,000g whenever you use his engage attack. Probably more meaningful on maddening than any other difficulty since you can't really farm for gold. I chose sniper since there are a lot of fliers plus she is a good candidate for the radiant bow.
    Donations - Brodia has half as many stages as all of the other nations so even though they go up by 2 points per donation tier you're still getting roughly the same benefit. That being said different stages give different amounts of materials per point so it would take a longer more in depth analysis to actually determine the best donation tiers for each nation. Early Firene stages give very little benefit like 20 iron and 1-2 steel per point but the 1st Brodia stages give like 60 iron and 2-4 steel per point (numbers from Maddening). Both Solm and Elusia give you very expensive items for the 1st 2 ranks of donations that instantly nets you back 50% of your investment before counting things like bond fragments and better stage drops.
    Forging - If you use the cost of metals in the flea market as a litmus then forging weapons is significantly more expensive than buying weapons. You should get enough free materials to be able to forge a couple of weapons but if at the end of the game you are using gold to buy ore from the flea market and you forged weapons earlier then you're ultimately wasting some amount of gold as it would've been cheaper to buy those weapons with gold and use the ore to refine them (or others) instead. Try and hold off on forging unless you get stuck if you want to be efficient and optimized.

    • @brubie7584

      I mean you're not going to get enough ore to refine all your main weapons to +5 so it doesn't hurt to avoid forging a little bit as that's more ore for refinements.

    Something to note about second seals - they are not free. They do level up the character by 2, and you'll probably not get any stats for doing so. In short, they make you level up a little slower and don't really give you stats - they just change the stats you already have. I think this is worth keeping in mind because the second seal class change has to be really advantageous to justify it. Not only does it have to make that character a lot better, that character should be doing something no other character can do. I want to add something about "Bond ring pushing". Arena is also good at doing small pushes.
    Every pulled ring spends 2 rns for rarity and type. So if you have 50+ hit it will spend 2 rns/ 50- will spend 1 rn/crit rate will spend 1 rn/skill chance will spend 1 rn.
    This way you can not only push the ring, you can get new set of rings by pushing an odd number of rns. If you do not have a single S ring in all of your scouting- it's the fastest way to change the seed.

      @@animindbasiliskproductions9139 Nah, the weapon ranks being fixed on classes is very obviously part of the balancing.
      Take for example Berserker, Swordmaster, and Sniper.
      They're the only classes with a natural S rank in their respective weapons.
      And that's their main selling point.
      If Warriors could get S rank bows, there'd be zero reason to ever use a Sniper.
      If Heroes could get S rank in any of the two weapons, there'd be no reason to ever use a Halberdier, Swordmaster or Berserker. (Halberdier does actually have a useful passive, so it doesn't automatically get outclassed by Hero like the other two, just mostly.)
      Same for Wolf/Griffin Knight with an S in swords compared to Swordmaster, if you're trying the dodge tank angle.
      And even then, this is still mostly the case even with S ranks. Because the S rank weapons aren't strong enough to be worth using an otherwise worse class.
      For example: All regular Archer classes are ass compared to Warrior, cause they can use Longbows and Steel Bows, which is already more than enough.

    • @skeletonwar4445
      @skeletonwar4445 Рік тому +2

      @@animindbasiliskproductions9139 Radiant Dawn/Path of Radiance classes are completely incomparable, because there's no free reclassing.
      Shinon will always be a sniper. There is no way to reclass him into a Warrior, so there's no reason to limit weapon ranks.
      Besides, Snipers having 3 range by default was never standard. That's something that only exists in Tellius and Gaiden.
      Usually archers get 3 range via a longbow, like in Engage.
      And yeah sure, Canto not being on riders by default is pretty weird, but it's an *inheritable* skill that's pretty cheap for its usefulness.
      So it's not "limited to one Emblem," but rather you can put it on anyone you want. A 3 range mage or archer with Canto is great.

    If you have dlc and are playing Maddening then I would honestly consider just buying lineage for all your units to increase their exp gain. You'll also gain more SP that way over time since SP gain and exp gain is tied. I'll be trying that next time since with Maddening's slow leveling I always felt under leveled near the end.
    You'll have to give up on canter until later most likely but none of my units had canter before the cutoff point and they seemed to do fine.

    • @skeletonwar4445
      @skeletonwar4445 Рік тому +1

      Can confirm, this is a great idea.
      The main reason being that Lineage is so incredibly cheap and that there's realistically never going to be 2 important skills on any unit at the same time in the early game.
      150 SP is not going to make-or-break any of the ch10 skills for the cutoff point (like f.e. Canter) but it will give you a lot more xp in the long run as well as refund back its own cost pretty quickly.
      Though the addition of SP items in the 2nd DLC wave has made a big difference, because with those, you may actually get two core skills on a unit early on.
      _Or just slap Canter onto everyone lol_

    Also, I am a firm believer that it is more beneficial to to refine your steel weapons than it is on iron. Mainly because iron becomes inferior pretty quickly. The only real downside refining your steel early is the added base weight of the weapons versus iron and that steel can be hard to come by early on. But trading silver for steel as you said is super easy and I think you start with 20 silver with DLC installed.
    So maybe refining iron +1 or possibly +2 for certain weapons is OK, but I'd save those materials for steel weapons (like daggers/axes) to lower it's weight, increase damage, and sometimes to increase hit rate. These steel weapons will last you through half the game until brave/silver weapons become more available.

Lucina gives an enhance version that (skill version without her equipped) gives a 35-70% chance to cause the dual attack so long as the target is within their threat range, meaning if you have 5 move and 2 range, you can dual attack up to 7 tiles away.

    *Fire Emblem Heroes* crossover weapons and Bond Rings *are no longer available to new players.*
    That DLC was only available to obtain for a limited time.
    Those who have gotten it *probably* won't lose it as long as the Nintendo Switch eShop remains operational, as it was obtained via an eShop download code, which means it likely remains available for redownload by people who already redeemed it.
    *However,* I have not archived nor deleted my updates for *Fire Emblem Engage* since the event ended, so *I do not know for sure* if it can be redownloaded by those who have redeemed their codes. After all, games have been taken off online storefronts, including the eShop, in the past; it can probably be done for DLC, too. [And seeing as the codes where given out during a free event, and did not require funding for the original aqusition, if it is pulled from the eShop, existing owners will likely not obtain a refund or compensation of any kind.]

      No, what he's saying is: Since 10% is only +1 every 10 levels, giving some one a stat booster effectively gives them +10% growth over the 19 level ups they get in that class. They're not actually getting a boost to their growth, but the stat booster will make it seem that way by the time they hit level 20.

    In regards to Anna.... are you saying that it's better NOT to reclass into Mage before promoting to Sage? Or are you saying that because Second Seals are harder to come by? Because I reclassed her into Mage the moment I got her (I received a Second Seal in one my my Relay wins), so she leveled as a Mage for 15 levels before I promoted her to Sage. Had I kept her as axe and promoted her to Berserker, then Second Seal over to Sage, wouldn't she have a lot of wasted points in Strength?

    So the fixed stat gains per level for maddening, how does it factor skills like Jeans personal skill or Tikis inherited Starsphere?

    • @skeletonwar4445
      @skeletonwar4445 Рік тому +2

      Imagine the growth stat as a percentage that fills a bar.
      Someone with a 50% str growth fills the bar by 50% every time they level up.
      Every time the bar reaches 100%, you get +1 in that stat and the bar goes back to 0%.
      So someone with a 50% str growth, will get +1 str every two levels.
      Jean's passive simply doubles his class growths and Tiki adds a flat +15% to all growths. They both work normally.

    Hey so here's this big tip about prof or proficiencies
    So all characters can learn any type of weapons and magic depending on how far you bond with your emblem rings. To unlock them proficiency that will highlight to white. Well do you know there's a blue highlight on each characters?
    Well that's basically there prefered or there best weapon type they use. So example: if you look at Anna: she's an axe user from the start but you noticed her prefer weapon is bow. So let's say you changed her to Warrior, we know that class prof is Axe and Bow but the rank of it is A on Axe and C on Bow. But for Anna it's A on Axe and B on Bow.
    So basically the blue prof increase the rank by one on there prefer proficiency.
    Hope that helps when choosing classes you favored 🙌

    • @saphcal
      @saphcal Рік тому

      something even more important but related to that. not every class can get the boost for every weapon. Hero doesnt have S rank in swords, but if you put someone with Blue Swords prof in Hero their Sword doesnt go from A to S, because Hero's sword prof ignores the blue prof bonus.

    08:47 do permanent stat items affect growth rates too? If so, I didn't know that

    • @Faerghast
      @Faerghast  Рік тому +4

      No it doesn't. But because 80% of 20 is 16. She's get 16 magic levels from lvl 1-20. 2 spirit dusts fill the level ups that don't give magic, since growths are fixed on Maddening! (Assuming you reach level 20 in sage) if you reclassed a second time after capping sage then it's back to 16 levels

  • @Ramperdos
    @Ramperdos Рік тому

    How does Spirit Dust turn that 80% Growth into 100% Growth? Do the items actually affect growths in some way?

    • @Yangblaze11
      @Yangblaze11 Рік тому +1

      No, he most likely meant that because you gave Sage Anna plus 4 magic (for two dusts) that it would be equivalent to gaining four levels in magic. For example, if I was leveling a character 20 levels and on average I was getting 16 magic per 20 levels, adding two spirit dusts would make it like I was gaining magic every level. I hope that explained that clearly.

I got it in about 30 minutes when i started pulling 20 per reset the second time around. Does the game have better odds on later seeds or something?
