They eat slowly when they're in places they couldn't get out like tombs to conserve, but when they are in open places they can eat as fast as they want to
That's becoz the director of the movie was in hurry , he needed to finish things off real quick , so those ugly insects did understand the pain of the director & ate those corpse quickly so he can leave early for his wife's expensive bday party.

There’s a big rumor which apparently they’re making a sequel and also a prequel of the Mummy series of Brandan Fraser. We’ll see if it happens but honestly it’d be no surprise judging by a success of the rerelease of The Mummy. A fun historical fiction with action-adventure, comedy, horror, and romance.
The first Mummy movie was scarier and terrifying in every way than its sequel The Mummy Returns which had become more comical. But I enjoyed its sequel more.
That's because the programmers worked to make sure they looked as real as possible. Nowadays they don't put any effort into it; they expect the computer to do all the heavy lifting for them.
In the human body, there is not much meat in the head like there is in other animals. The human head consists primarily of skull bones, brain, connective tissue, and various other types of tissue, but does not contain flesh as is meant in the context of animal flesh. but the tissue of your cheeks, mouth, nose, tongue and eyes is quite thick flesh, it makes a good dinner for a scarab, but the worst thing is that you can hear the sound of a hungry scarab eating your flesh from inside your head before you die.
What about the scarabs on Imhotep’s face when he takes off his mask after being introduced to the first guy he gets his eyes and tongue from and before he sucks the rest of his flesh from him?
Warden running into the wall, the beetle must've destroyed his vision and blinded him. Either way, that must've felt horrifying as the bug was eating his brains out.
Realistically, it should have been quickly fatal for the warden with the damage the scarab was doing to his brain. There is no way he should have been running around helplessly like that.
I specifically remember this movie gave me a nightmare as a kid where I was hiding in a vent while watching these little nightmare bugs eat everyone. These things were nightmare fuel
I remember watching the scene with The Warden (Omid Djalili) having the scarab crawling inside his skin as a kid, but I couldn’t remember what the film was. I was convinced it was from ‘Pitch Black’. But I later learned it was from ‘The Mummy’.
there might be something I missed, but cursing Imhotep with a curse so powerful that it would turn him into an deadly creature if he were awakened doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do.

I’ve always wondered why the Scarabs were stuck to the wall instead of breaking free, or as to why they somehow managed to survive for such a long time if they didn’t suffer the same curse as Imhotep
They needed to be woken up because they had long been sleeping and since the sand was acting like an activation they sensed a human blood nearby that's why they went into a feeding frenzy
