The first Mummy movie was scarier and terrifying in every way than its sequel The Mummy Returns which had become more comical. But I enjoyed its sequel more.
Yup horror to more action its pretty much in the vain to the formula of Terminator 1 to Terminator 2 And alien to aliens formula Predator however was creepy all around from 1 2 and 3 aka staying pretty constant with it's eerie alien Tone.
It is strange that those particular bugs were supposed to be eating someone very slowly and yet a later scene they seem to quickly eat and kill a man in seconds.
They eat slowly when they're in places they couldn't get out like tombs to conserve, but when they are in open places they can eat as fast as they want to
That's becoz the director of the movie was in hurry , he needed to finish things off real quick , so those ugly insects did understand the pain of the director & ate those corpse quickly so he can leave early for his wife's expensive bday party.

We’ll see if it happens but honestly it’d be no surprise judging by a success of the rerelease of The Mummy. A fun historical fiction with action-adventure, comedy, horror, and romance.
Such a great movie. I hate bugs too and when i first saw this in theaters with my family when i was eight, it scared the crap out of me. Before I went to bed that night, i double checked my bed for any types of bugs
Always loved the end, Rick knew Benny was a snake and this betrayal to side with imotep crossed the line but despite it all rick really wanted to save benny...but I'm glad he didn't 😂😂😂
there might be something I missed, but cursing Imhotep with a curse so powerful that it would turn him into an deadly creature if he were awakened doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do.
Warden running into the wall, the beetle must've destroyed his vision and blinded him. Either way, that must've felt horrifying as the bug was eating his brains out.
Realistically, it should have been quickly fatal for the warden with the damage the scarab was doing to his brain. There is no way he should have been running around helplessly like that.

She also says the bugs eat their prey slowly in the campfire scene. So the beetle ate his brain slowly. All we could do is panic and run till the beetle started eating something that would do extreme damage.
I specifically remember this movie gave me a nightmare as a kid where I was hiding in a vent while watching these little nightmare bugs eat everyone. These things were nightmare fuel

The human head consists primarily of skull bones, brain, connective tissue, and various other types of tissue, but does not contain flesh as is meant in the context of animal flesh. but the tissue of your cheeks, mouth, nose, tongue and eyes is quite thick flesh, it makes a good dinner for a scarab, but the worst thing is that you can hear the sound of a hungry scarab eating your flesh from inside your head before you die.
I remember watching the scene with The Warden (Omid Djalili) having the scarab crawling inside his skin as a kid, but I couldn’t remember what the film was. I was convinced it was from ‘Pitch Black’. But I later learned it was from ‘The Mummy’.
The irony that the small package of treasure Beni got out first was enough for Eve and Connell to support a family of 4 (including Jonathan). They even had enough to buy a mansion and Alex enjoyed a relatively affluent upbringing, gotta show how greed will get u to dark ends if not controlled
What about the scarabs on Imhotep’s face when he takes off his mask after being introduced to the first guy he gets his eyes and tongue from and before he sucks the rest of his flesh from him?

The popping sound when the scarab beetle is taken of the wall is so satisfying. Beni is nasty but he doesn't deserve to be eaten alive by scarabs. Ik scarabs eat slower in the dark but I dunno how they could've eaten him slowly with that many, there was tons already and scary thing is no signs of them stopping either
The beetles have causes me to have an irrational fear of bugs somehow fusing into my skin and roaming around. Worse is knowing parasites can do that, making it even more terrifying.

They needed to be woken up because they had long been sleeping and since the sand was acting like an activation they sensed a human blood nearby that's why they went into a feeding frenzy
They would have no chance of surviving of that long in real life, this is simply one of the things where the creators probably went like "Nah, who cares, it's a fantasy movie after all".

Man, the CGI for the scarabs was surprisenly amazing for an end of 90s movie.
