I have stage 4 liver disease (cirrhosis). I was diagnosed 4 years ago and have been sober for 2 1/2 years. I'm 57 and I drank since I turned 21 and the amounts increased and increased until I was drinking a handle of vodka every other day. I was also doing other drugs, but not nearly as heavily. Surprisingly, my last MELD score was 10. Have you discussed this score; do you know yours? Many people have never heard of it. I think I keep fighting because I want to fall in love before I go. I've never known true love. I've had my share of boyfriends, but it was never the romantic love I've wanted since I was young.
This sounds familiar lol I feel that way too. I see it as I don’t know what tomorrow will bring and I too have never experienced true love. My meld stays about 17 I do keep track. You can download a meld calculator on your phone. I’ve been through a lot and I refuse to give up 😊
@@Redneckkenobi Well, you certainly have a positive attitude. My therapist recently diagnosed me with adjustment disorder, which I think I agree with. So I'm going to focus on my mental health for a while. I'm curious about this meld calculator. How does it work exactly? Do you have a link for some more information? Cheers.
@@Redneckkenobi OK thanks. Your meld score is pretty good. Actually, quite good. 17 might be the number when you become eligible for a full transplant other than from a living donor. I have mixed emotions about getting a transplant if it comes to that. I really don't want to. It's a very traumatic surgery, there can be serious complications and the recovery is often very difficult. The transplant clinic in Denver keeps in touch and they feel that I'm in a pretty good hands at the moment.
Yes i am also looking for love and i am scaired of dieing on my own I am 67 from uk the good thing is the NHS is free to see doctor hospitals, drugs all free My meld score is 1 under the number for transplant I wast surpirsed 17 then they dont have to put me on the list I got very bad itching on my back at night cant sleep at night only in the day ,just had ultra sound on my stomach have not got the results yet got dirriarre 10 to 15 times per day so i cant go out I cant even make it to the barthroom in time I take it 1 day at a time when i was told i had this col all my plans and dreams vanished in 1 sec No one understands it i told many pepole but they are not the one who has it Some asked me after 5 weeks if i was ok now you cant belived it how stupid they are my thoughts are with you please talk to me anytime Andy Kilo UK
It has been proven that once the liver goes cirrhotic it doesn’t process milk thistle the same way, it can actually cause problems. It has been seen to have properties that are good for the liver but not at this point. It could actually cause damage because the liver has to work hard to process it.
I do Tai chi , qi gong ...sqauts . Light weight for arms to keep muscles up a little. Show us your meals , you4 models , hobbies , wish i knew how to make videos im. Soooo bored..other than cleaning and mowing . In Florida it was too cold now too hot lol. Trying grounding also.

Everyone will die someday. I, too, have liver cirrhosis from fatty liver. I did drink off and on in my younger years til 41 haven't touched it at all for 23 years. I have had fatty liver since my early 40s. And last year at age 63 was told I had cirrhosis, stage 1 compensated. Im going through it alone. I have no family of my own. I do feel depressed. I ost 3 classmates between 2021 and 2022, two were 61 and one was 62. We always hear of young kids with cancer.
Staying positive takes a lot of mental discipline. I give you a lot of credit.
Thanks it’s not easy but I see it as there’s some that have it worse. So I should be positive for those people too 😊
Thank you for sharing your lifes journey. ❤
Thanks!
Thank you so much 😊

Big pharma drs won’t tell you this, but if you go the health food store and buy milk thistle you could notice some positive changes.
As well with TUDCA.
It's something wonderful for the Liver.

@@Redneckkenobi you may have a point. I’m not an expert. That’s a fair rebuttal.
@@dennischristman9655 I’m not a expert either lol I actually recently did a video on natural remedies about a week ago
Their is no proof in this
Not tested i was told by liver nurse its a waist of money

Take TUDCA and Milk Thistle should do big wonders.
No proof in this
Think about this no one raises money for liver deases ,heart, cancer yes but not liver transplants or treatment
Could you please make a video with details about an upper GI?
Cant eye doctor see copper rings in your eyes?
Yes it can show up there but it’s not the only test
