This is also one of my fave areas lol usually always end up here get some mutants now and then but as you said in guide is a great place with lots of potential I only ever play hardcore survival too lol good guide explaining everything.

I build here as soon as I started the game, I was just looking for a place with a lake nearby and I stumbled across this, I did not expect it to be so quite. But this one is really worth due to all it has to offer.
I have base in the same location but I notice second time that canibals patrol spawn in this area - 1:05. There was only 2 starved canibals. I think they spawn at night. Just see theforestmap.com/#-1052.2,628.4
It can be true, I honestly do not get attacked there, even tho I wish they would spawn more often, it can also be my save is bugged and does not spawn cannibals there. Checked the link and yeah, they should spawn there also.
Ok, today when I go outside of my base and my loooong defensive wall with traps etc. and when I came back, there was 4 cannibals inside my base... and they put around my home theirs effigies. I have read that it means they marks me, like a spot to attack or something. I have my walls in the same spot like your but I see its useless :(
Hello again, it's been a while. I have been busy, just started playing The Forest again. A lot has changed it seems. Did you ever try out the spot I told you about? I never saw you make a video on it.

It was the stretch of land that extends out besides the modern boat, with the tree at the end. You said you wanted a spot where cannibals regularly attacked you. So I suggested a fort there.
Indeed. You need to be industrial with your sleds and production. Building a tower at the mainland with a lift and loading logs back to the fort is quite efficient also. A friend and myself managed to make a fort up there, though that was some time ago and the save is gone.
Ah, that must be harsh to lose the save after all the effort. The lift is quite a good idea, I still havent use a single time that platform. Thanks for the heads up !
I actually had a base in that location(Not really there but over the river and on the highround over there it's really beutiful) And where you want to have your garden To the left on the rocks there is an small open almost like a little shack where you can hide some loot if your base get destroyed.
I had there and still have an old save with a base in that location, It was pretty neat and secure, but I have a weakness for ponds to have water whenever I need it.
I had so hard time understanding where you at.... I live there... Down next to the river and I have stairs that get up to where your House is.... Only thing is.... I cut Down all the trees... On both sides of the river... I've had few cannibals on the high ground where as down next to the river not a single cannibal attacked...
Do you play without regrow trees on? And yeah I have had a big base on the other side of river, was nice, but there were a lot of cannibal attacks, I guess the spawning is random in each save.
The other side of the river has cannibals running around. But they never cross the river even tho I have a bridge, unless disturbed. And I might have build walls to stop them from running there.. So now I don't even see them anywhere... Altho it was a real pain to build the walls as the cannibals came pretty much non stop... So many effigies.... So much blood.... So much bones... But 0 deaths. Would have been so much easier if I would have went to the caves and found the Chainsaw earlier or the modern axe. I do prefer the trees not growing back. :P And didn't know they even could grow back before few days ago. I also didn't know that effigies had no effect unless put on fire, only reason I have not put them on fire has been that I thought the body parts would burn and turn into bones. Lies! Lies! Lol, OK first, it IS the best place to build but the very cannibals come right up the cliffs on the side you call an escape route. I wasn't even in to the game that far, they came to say hello right INSIDE my base on day 7!
In my playthrough I had no cannibals at all. Sadlly with this game, the cannibals do no search for you, they always spawn in your vicinity, if you happen to have a big base, chances are they will spawn inside.
Maybe the "lies, lies," was to harsh, I was only kidding hense the "lol". However, I love this area, and you are right about it, but I found out the hard way that the grey - blue cannibals came up on the west side of the cliff section and scared the crap out of me. All that said, not a peep out of them to day 7,then few and far between. Great video!!!

Hope you will find it safe and secure for you. If you want a base location packed with action I found such a place also.
I did the same base in the same place and i dont regret my choice, is so easy to def and you have a lot of resources

Oh I know the place, it is quite nice, but hard to build because all the trees are far far away. But a very nice location.
