Oh man, so many cool moments! Makes me want to go back and do it again. I still have that fever for those golden plecos and that storm on the river, was simply an epic moment.
Not sure if I could take fish out of the wild the trip and seeing them is amazing but removing them I’m not so sure cause if everybody did it then there would be none left JMO
They are also breeder and surely have license for collecting. Which will help the hobby with the new genes that will enter the market. Everythings came from the wild its just that this is for the health of the fish in the hobby Inbreeding cause a lot of modern problem on our fish in the trade
I am currently 16 and live in South Africa, I have 3 aquariums and love to breed endler's, I want a pond to breed them year round but my parents won't let me get a pond. How can I convince them to let me have a pond?
I used to catch regular plecos in Panama. Also caught hatched fish, festivm cichlids, swordtails, other tetras I was stationed there in Panama during my Army time.
Hi i put tow different kinds of api Conditioners in my new glass tank its only a 10 gallon tank but for 3 glow fish! Or 4 but anyways no i have not got the fish yet! I am not in a rush i want my tank prefect for my fish ill link down below what i used! Stress coate api Stress zyme! And the beginning i did put regular glow fish safe tap water but i did a full water change 4 days later and re put api only in! Now i have a bird if he got his Dandruff some in the tank is that ok?
Hi Aquarium Co-Op! I'm SO nervous today to do my first-ever medical treatment for all of my beautiful fishes! Including an elephant nose, which they say they are rather delicate with medications! SO nervous! Planning on using the Aquarium Co-Op method...and will be spending the day setting up for the week-long quarantine in my planted 55 , gathering all my fish together for the event, 8 adult and countless fry guppies, 3 discus, 4 Ottos, 2 clown Plecos, and 5 corries...I hope nobody dies! I'll put in an airstone, all my fish and medicate all... because one of my 3 discus is not growing at all. after 2 months he's still the size of a half-dollar, while the other two grew to 3 inches. Hope he is able to grow after this and there are no casualties. leaving ceramic rings in the filter - any last words of support welcomed before I add the meds later today. So scared!
what an amazing experience this must have been man. I am recently getting back into planted aquariums and fish keeping. Found you and have been buying a lot of supplies to try and support you. You've been so helpful on my journey back into this. So much more information is now available and I am grateful for people like you who help people like me. Keep up the great work and content man!
I lover huge predetory/monster fish, that catfish (pretty sure it is a tigreshovelnose) was awsome. I also love that Oscar, the colors on it seemed amazing and a bit different. Those pleco's where also insane looking
Hey Cory enjoyed watching this. I'm sure those whiptails you brought back ate Loricaria simillima or Marble whiptail incase you hadn't found out yet, can't wait for the next one and keep up the good work
For the small prey speices probably not cuase they aren't in constant fear that a predator will eat them, don't have to deal with droughts and have all the food they want.
This is really cool! I know some people don't like wild caught fish, but the way I see it, you are going to give those little plecos pampered lives where as many would have died in the wild
There is plenty of interest. The problem is liabilities and insurance. Not something I want to lead as it is a lot of work. But we may try some stuff down the road
Sensitive mimosa! I'm pretty sure that's the name of the little plant that closes its leaves. I grew one as part of those "weird plants" kits as a nipper. Couldn't make a square tomato but grew the beejesus out of that mimosa 😂

Is the pleco soup good?
Casey Chong The pleco soup was great when I was there! Plus grub worms.
@@ChongChongChong-x3j Yes, especially the broth, super tasty.
What sort of permits and stuff did you need to bring fish back into the US?
6:48 THAT FISH COSTS ME 200$ EACH IN MY COUNTRY FOR THAT SIZE, AND YOU EAT THEM LIKE CHICKEN NUGGETS?!?!?! 😭😭😭
That what I’m saying
This is an experience that i have on my bucket list! You must find loads of fish that are not in the hobby!
Not sure if I could take fish out of the wild the trip and seeing them is amazing but removing them I’m not so sure cause if everybody did it then there would be none left JMO
If you don't overfish it helps the echosystam beccause people living there catch fish instead of palm farming.

try making it a patio pond, typically small and easy to make pretty. Im making one out of a planter I got from the store and it holds about 15 gallons
@@hanyo1o132 thank you I will try that
I'm South African also and living in Finland, nice seeing a fellow SA fish keeper 👍
Wish i can breed fish outside year round, here in the Free State it gets vrek cold in the winter!
@@Nemesis0513 That's the problem I even ask if I can use a small bucket and just now asked them and they wouldn't budge
I forget if you guys ended up getting some of the gold plecos home. If you did, how are they doing?
Unfortunately the shipment was delayed for days as the flight they were on had drugs

My Bristlenose plecos have that gold flake look on their scales as well. Very pretty Bristlenose plecos. Mine just had a bunch of babies.
Here in Trinidad we call that "flower" a "sleeping Mary"...
Cant believe the prices of wild discus here and them getting fried up for lunch over there 😱
Seeing those fried Discus was a trip... and $160 a pop at my lfs 😳
Did you ever breed those gold plecos?? buy any of the bamboo Loricariae?
Need a permit to take rare fish out of the wild and import them to the US? What percentage of your collection dies?
1:45 the cool looking flower is a sensitive plant we call it 'close marie' or 'marie marie close yuh eye'
You should do a video on African Butterfly fish
The fish at 7:50 does anyone know what it is? It looks so cool swimming.
This is like a dream for every single fish keeper :) Love the Peru videos, so cool and inspiring!
Yes!! I finally made top ten on one of your videos!!!
Real life Pokemon master
Did they ever ID those greenish gold fish that looked like eartheaters?
So what was the fish y'all were kissing?
How much would it be to do somthing like this
I can feel the humidity already
Mantap
How are the mystery plecos doin? They're super cool lookin! Would love one to go in our 55 with some other plecos we have.
I don't think they made it, there was some issue with the shipment they were in being stuck in transit

The plecos it’s one of my favourite dish from my country French Guyana
Very tasty
Aww, poor babies, I bet they miss home when ppl take them.

Pleco soup?! Wow what does it taste like?! I just added a bristlenose to my aquarium also 😂
I am so jealous right now 😩 that you all got to experience peru, I am blown away by all the beautiful fish.
Ah bearded Cory
Wow, what a transition!!! I had to pause the video a moment to make sure you got recognition!!!
Sweet video cory thanks for sharing!!!
We call the flower that closing when you touch is "makahiya" means like shy
How many candirus?
Going to central or south America collecting is a bucket list item. Love these videos.
Thanks, Cory. Love the trips footage!
thanks for sharing cant wait for your next trip
So I wouldn't be able to eat much in Peru 😂
The discus was a new one for me , never seen that .
Any update on those bamboo catfish?
"Touch Me not" Plants and his reaction!!!
So i can hear what they say but what is the gold pleco they catch with the earth eatter?
Shovel nose ceviche is amazing!
I really wanna know what those catfish were. The ones with the round fins.
Looks like an amazing experience
What does discus taste like?
Cory, I bet there would be some interest in a group trip down there and you and Dean should lead it! The "Rick Steves" of fish collecting travel.

Googled it to check I was right, and it's also called a shame plant, how cute is that?
Cool vid but now i want to eat all my fish
I'm a fellow fish keeper just wondering what the possibility of overfishing is there anything in place that stops you from taking too much of on kind.
They can only take from specific spots and some you can’t keep
Wait! Discus?!?
I want to see these now in your tanks. They are awesome!
Love your vids
looks like fun.
thank you for the videos
also I would kiss the fish for the content
How many times during these trips do you stop and think, “I’ve died and gone to heaven?”
Usually each night after you are exhausted and are reflecting on everything you saw.
When you catch these fish and you go home, how do they allow you to take them home on the plane? Or do you drive?
they’re shipped
The plant is the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) you can get them as house plants in the US, I currently have one I'm growing from seed.
You actually like Them?! Here in Australia they hurt so bad when you step on them lol
@@Y0oisaac I keep them in pots in the house so I don't have to worry about stepping on them. lol
Reminds me of Finding Nemo when the divers came down and took some fish for their aquarium. Wonder if these families travel to find their sons

Yayyyy!
Not enough in the fish stores? leave the wild ones in the wild
Fun fact it helps save the ecosystem.
The wild ones wouldn't exsit if left just in the wild.
A good amount of the fish in stores are from the wild.
I think the plant is Mimosa :) Popular houseplant in my country, had one once.
Leave those poor fishes alone!
leave the ones you eat alone too
that looks sooooo fun, I want to to that some day. It probably wouldn't be as fun with out dean lol.
I need to get out more. This looks so fun! Great video !
Can Crystal red shrimp and crystal black shrimp breed together?
Yes. They are only color varieties from the same species
I loose all respect for you when I see you taking fish out of the wild. I am unsubscribing.
Ok, good riddance!
