Her Byakugou Seal was a convenient asspull to show off in front of Sasuke. Very convenient timing for a Team 7 moment in the war. Why didn’t Sakura pull out the Seal sooner in the war or when Konoha was invaded by the Six Paths of Pain? Oh right, she’s storing it up which makes it lazy writing by Kishimoto. Normal shinobis who are actually better than Sakura who became legends in their own right with no Clan, KG or powerups are: Minato, Sakumo, Chiyo, Hiruzen, Konan, Rock Lee and Might Guy.
You could argue that Sakura had the most character development out of all the Konaha 13... she started as the most useless, and became one of the most important.
Sakura had no clan previlage like all of her friend she is just a daughter of Random Genin. She doesn't have Uzumaki's infinite Chakra, Uchiha's Sharingan, Hyuga's Byakugan, Yamanaka' Mind penetration Technique, Nara's Shadow Binding, or Akimichi's Body enlargement. she didn't have Inuzuka's Dog or Aburame's Insect either. All she got from her family is his father Pink Hair
Sakura is and has ALWAYS been my favorite. From the beginning as a 12-year-old girl to now that I'm 27, I see SO MUCH of myself in her, as well as things I admire in her. I have never understood the hate she gets from the fandom. She's intelligent, DEEPLY devoted and loving, hard working to a fault, self-aware of her flaws, super strong, has PERFECT chakra control, and is the best medic in the entire universe! Yes, she has made mistakes. Yes, she's done a few things that are shitty. But that just makes her more human! She learns from her mistakes, and grows from her earlier toxic behavior. She never stopped loving Sasuke and always believed there was good in him, which some may call naïve, but I found her devotion and patience inspiring. NOT TO MENTION she has to work hard and EARN every power up she gets. She doesn't have kekkei genkai and she isn't a Jinchuriki or a reincarnation of a super-powerful demigod, so none of her power was genetically handed to her. She had REALISTIC character development. I'm beyond proud of how far she has come, and I'd even go so far as to say Sakura is my favorite anime character of all time.
I’m convinced most people that criticize Sakura see themselves as her, especially her flaws. They read/watch escape from reality so they look up to either heroes that can achieve anything or cold hearted villains that are loved for their specific role in the story, that they got no time to think about how Sakura feels like a real person. She’s a reflection of their mistakes and slow development to adulthood, so they feel threatened by the harsh reality.
Feel free to enjoy and connect with Sakura, but on top of how she treats Naruto, the orphan main character, early on, her petty rivalry with Ino, who was very nice to her, over a boy, and her romantic love for Sasuke being poorly substantiated, (my point being that these are all surface level but bound to piss off viewers) the greatest problem with Sakura that probably upsets people is her role in the story. She is great at the beginning of Shippuden where she shows all the fruits of her time skip training with her poison curing and Sasori fighting, then basically irrelevant for so long outside of being a medic (which is fine but still sexist of Kishi). Kishimoto keeps feeling the need to include her as the female character and member of Team 7, but she's aimless for the vast majority of the story because she was created only to show Sasuke is popular and Naruto is unpopular even with the girl he likes, he didn't think ahead. I do think she's fine in Boruto though, since she isn't a main character anymore and yet is both relevant, basically the strongest woman, and a decent mom.
People also forget Sakura is the main reason why Kaguya didn't come back, as Kaguya was going to ESCAPE from the seal until Sakura punched her back into it.

For example Kiba wasn't "important" in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, but he was "useful" for stalling Sakon/Ukon for the Sand Siblings to come. I feel like her being the new Head is interesting. She looked to be the typically type of teen that would definitely be into gossip and finding the right tea/combat intel then grows up to be an agent of extracting information to be quite fitting. Also it would be pretty off-putting and would definitely catch a lot of people off-guard. People assume their interrogator to be intense and intimidating but then are met with Ino's beauty and charm. Taking advantage of their underestimation paired with Ino's intense personality and pride, she'd be able to get the job done. All she needs is hard experience. (Didn't Ibiki go through torture including having a DRILL through the head???)

Solid list, although, I think Ino is above Shikamaru. Her usefulness as an adult is craaazy. She's responsible for turning Leaf into an impenetrable fortress. And her clan served as a walkie talkie during the war, which was invaluable.
I feel like shikamaru preventing a world war twice, making sure the entire village is actually functional and playing a huge part in keeping an eye on amado and kawaki makes him deserve a higher spot on the list. I might be a bit biased but I feel like sasuke got a huge boost because of his power.
The suicide core is such a dope concept..... yeah lets train a bunch of kids or whatever to get super strong in taijutsu so if push comes to shove open the 8th gate go nuts and die! Dope might not be the right wording, but it sure is killer.

Sakura is the coolest character in my opinion. No special bloodline, no ninja family members, and did one thing so well that she broke the verse. Team 7 has absurd characters and no other team in history compares to it, and Sakura deserves her spot. She could not have been represented worse in og Naruto, but she is the most impressive ninja given her lack of background. I'm sure people are dying to tell me why my opinion isn't valid, but I assure you that I have had almost two decades to think about this. Also, she's the hottest adult (which I am willing to hear arguments for, provided it comes with sources)

A lot of people don't realize how scary Sai was. Simply because his techniques were subtle and wont cause godly amount of destruction(some of his techniques can do it, but those again were not his primary attacks anyway). Plus Kankuro's squad's defeating Deidara and Sasori was so instrumental, as they both specialized in combat against multiple enemies. Specially Deidara. If deidara had reached the battle field, there would have been C4 karura everywhere.

It’s amazing that Boruto has made Ino and Sakura valuable and interesting characters and simultaneously keeps most of the interesting ideas a sequel series specific to Naruto could use in spin-off novels. I’ll always be fascinated by what could have been if the Naruto IP carried more of its themes forward and examined how the Konoha 13 defined their new generation, as the final arcs of several characters in Shippuden pushed as the main message, instead of skipping to the next one and introducing virtually completely new ideas and themes.
So you said that Ino "created" the barrier around Konoha, but I'm pretty sure that the same thing is mentioned in shipuuden when Pein goes to invade konoha. So it's not exactly new, though Ino may have recreated it or made it new and improved

This video also makes you realize that although Neji is at the bottom of the list, his role was one of the most significant. It helps argue that his death wasnt "pointless" or an "ass pull" by Kishimoto. It helps you realize that Neji actually put Naruto AND Sasuke in their place, and gave them BOTH someone to strive to be stronger than.
His death still is all of that I don't see how this changes that, Lee was doing Neji's job better in putting them in their place. And all the genius vs hard work falls flat at the end.
I think his death signifies the death of a lot of the lessons that old Naruto was running with, because hard to say “hard work conquers talent” when Naruto is well on the way to becoming Jesus 😂
Kishimoto originally wanted to kill Neji and Lee in the sasuke retrieval arc to the sound village 4 and Kimimaro. So actually all of Neji and Lee after that point was an ass pull. And my real dream idea would have had the final battle be the other 10 keep Madara (who would be a little less broken) busy before our three mains are able to come and end it once and for all.

A mother who values her home, children, and husband over personal achievements is a sacrificial woman who lays down her potential in the community in order to invest in her childrens' potential in the community. Neji was important because of his arc where he learned that Naruto, Son of the fourth Hokage, vessel for 9 tailed fox, and reincarnation of the son of the god of ninjas, was not a weak ninja, due to the circumstances of his birth. Which, alright, he didn't know he was fighting NINJA JESUS, but the other bits still made that a bit silly when you think about it.
I would love a video on what IF orochimaru actually successfully absorbed Kimimaro instead of trying to take over sasukes body and the illness wasn't a factor, how strong could a kimimaro orochimaru become, his wide range of jutsu, his ability to use hashirama etc by resurrecting them and controlling them, combined with the hardened steel bones and snake abilities, coupled with a four tailed hydra with bone protection how strong could he have been and who could he take down if itachi hadn't got him with the totsuka blade 1 shot how much of a threat could he have been, considering he took out one of the kazekage and gaara was hitting kimimaro with a full battlefield full of sand full power sand burial he has some insane durability feats
Wouldn't he lost the body after 3 years? He has to switch bodies even if he doesn't want to also, Does Orochimaru keep the Kekkei Genkais of previous bodies after he switches to a new one? I don't know since he always uses only snakes and his sword to fight, maybe he could install the Kekkei Genkais like Kabuto did but that doesn't need the switching bodies part so maybe it wouldn't make any difference at all if he took his body, he just needed to install his Kekkei Genkai into the newest body to use it.
At least one of my favorites (Shikamaru) has a good role in the new era. Shino & Tenten are just as shafted as they've always been, with Shino still being too badass that they hold him back and Tenten holding the record for best hide-and-seek player.
I mean yeah Hinata did it, but only cause she was the only one that really saw what was going on because of her Byakugan. Naruto didnt go mad cause it was Hinata, but rather because it was one of his friends, legit if Choji wouldve jumped in, or Shikamaru he would have reacted the exact same way. And saying "but they didnt do it", yes Hinata had the courage to do it, but also was she pretty much the only one knowing what was going on. Naruto physically hurt Sakura who he claimed to love messing around with the Ninetail's cloak He knew Jiraiya had fallen to Pain. He learned that Kakashi had just died. So if Naruto would have done that for everyone why didn't he? Why didn't his eyes even go red learning about Kakashi? Going into full 9 tails mode, he/ Kurama is also shown/drawn stepping to the side of Hinata's body when charging at Pain (even though previously with less tails he hurt Sakura). Then Kishimoto again brings up Naruto specifically saying Hinata getting stabbed by Pain was the worst pain of his life. Not losing Sasuke. Not hurting Sakura. Not the loss of Kakashi. Not the loss of Jiraiya. Hinata getting stabbed. The writer wrote that specifically. The writer put Hinata there specifically... Not any other character. So to say he'd do it for anyone is just people projecting their interpretations of Naruto on the manga which was specifically written to show him doing it for Hinata which is emphasized by Naruto doubling down on the pain he felt watching it happen later on. We need a video on the most common head canons people pass off as fact in this series.

I'd say running a weapons shop is pretty useful. Annnnnnnnd the Tenten/Tonton screentime thing isn't true anymore...hasn't been for a long while. It was true way back in the day, but became untrue over time as Tenten got more screentime. The swing tho? Absolutely way more screen time, that thing needs a spot in the credits! Lol.

To be fair to Kiba, it's not main character worthy or anything, but as basically just a guy, being able to go 2 v 1 with a path of pain is pretty impressive. That's 1/12 th strength of pain, one of the strongest dudes in the verse
9:31 I also really liked kiba, tsuga looked very strong on early naruto, marking enemies by pissing on them is gross but in a way it's very smart, and transforming in a two headed dog was also dope.
while Neji is not one of my favorite characters in Naruto, I will add that in Shippuden he came in handy when locating the seals around the akutsuki hideout during the Gaara retrieval mission...it's not much but he still helped lol

Tenten is still an active shinobi as well, she was a proctor at the chunin exams and she participated in the hunt of urashiki in Boruto. So i guess she's more useful for the village than Hinata in the Boruto era

Sakura came to the realization after the war that most of their adversaries were war orphans who were traumatized by the events of war and whose trauma caused them to lash out against the world. The Ame Orphans, Madara, Obito and even Orochimaru all lost a lot because of war and were traumatized and tormented by it. She realized that the best way to prevent that from happening again was to create a hospital dedicated to giving orphaned children the psychological help and support they need. Kakashi approved it, Tsunade advised and Ino funded it but Sakura created it and is the head of this special hospital. That I'd phenomenal. She recognized the issue. That tons of children were going through this heart ache without any help and so she decided to be the help they needed. She cuts the problem at the root. Instead of just waiting for another traumatized orphan to start a war she took it upon herself to prevent, to the best of her abilities, someone like them starting another world wide apocalypse. So Sakura saved the world, saved hundreds of lives, went around the world helping people and saving lives with Sasuke and created a hospital to help orphan children and give them the support they need.

I think Rock Lee was also influential to Naruto by reminding him he gave Sakura his "nice guy smile" meaning Naruto gave his promise to bring Sasuke back. This put something in Naruto to keep his promise to Sakura; maybe because he had feelings for her at the time and/or because he needed to do it for himself. However, Rock Lee reminded Naruto of this little fact that solidified his resolve.

Neji can see and react to every single bug. No sneaking. Plus he can eject any bugs that try to get inside him. In his fight against Kidomaru showed him keeping up with a long distance fighter. Unless Shino finds some way to surprise and enter some bugs into Sasuke, there's no way the bugs are getting Sasuke either. He can see & react to each bug with his Sharingan. He's as fast as no weight Lee even without curse mark 1. He uses fire style which are the bugs' weakness. He has a fast technique in the chidori. As much as I would've liked to. I can't put Shino above the rest on the list. He's still one of the strongest genin in part 1. Temari & Gaara are the only genin from outside Konoha who are stronger.

Why didn’t Sakura pull out the Seal sooner in the war or when Konoha was invaded by the Six Paths of Pain? Oh right, she’s storing it up which makes it lazy writing by Kishimoto.

All she got from her family is his father Pink Hair

Sakura is and has ALWAYS been my favorite. From the beginning as a 12-year-old girl to now that I'm 27, I see SO MUCH of myself in her, as well as things I admire in her. I have never understood the hate she gets from the fandom. She's intelligent, DEEPLY devoted and loving, hard working to a fault, self-aware of her flaws, super strong, has PERFECT chakra control, and is the best medic in the entire universe! Yes, she has made mistakes. Yes, she's done a few things that are shitty. But that just makes her more human! She learns from her mistakes, and grows from her earlier toxic behavior. She never stopped loving Sasuke and always believed there was good in him, which some may call naïve, but I found her devotion and patience inspiring. NOT TO MENTION she has to work hard and EARN every power up she gets. She doesn't have kekkei genkai and she isn't a Jinchuriki or a reincarnation of a super-powerful demigod, so none of her power was genetically handed to her. She had REALISTIC character development. I'm beyond proud of how far she has come, and I'd even go so far as to say Sakura is my favorite anime character of all time.

I’m convinced most people that criticize Sakura see themselves as her, especially her flaws. They read/watch escape from reality so they look up to either heroes that can achieve anything or cold hearted villains that are loved for their specific role in the story, that they got no time to think about how Sakura feels like a real person. She’s a reflection of their mistakes and slow development to adulthood, so they feel threatened by the harsh reality.

Feel free to enjoy and connect with Sakura, but on top of how she treats Naruto, the orphan main character, early on, her petty rivalry with Ino, who was very nice to her, over a boy, and her romantic love for Sasuke being poorly substantiated, (my point being that these are all surface level but bound to piss off viewers) the greatest problem with Sakura that probably upsets people is her role in the story.
She is great at the beginning of Shippuden where she shows all the fruits of her time skip training with her poison curing and Sasori fighting, then basically irrelevant for so long outside of being a medic (which is fine but still sexist of Kishi). Kishimoto keeps feeling the need to include her as the female character and member of Team 7, but she's aimless for the vast majority of the story because she was created only to show Sasuke is popular and Naruto is unpopular even with the girl he likes, he didn't think ahead.
I do think she's fine in Boruto though, since she isn't a main character anymore and yet is both relevant, basically the strongest woman, and a decent mom.
Don't forget that Ino is also the reason Konoha can discuss without being watched by Ada.
People also forget Sakura is the main reason why Kaguya didn't come back, as Kaguya was going to ESCAPE from the seal until Sakura punched her back into it.

For example Kiba wasn't "important" in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, but he was "useful" for stalling Sakon/Ukon for the Sand Siblings to come. If he didn't Sakon/Ukon would have probably caught up to the other Sound Ninjas and killed the Konoha 12 off. I feel like her being the new Head is interesting. She looked to be the typically type of teen that would definitely be into gossip and finding the right tea/combat intel then grows up to be an agent of extracting information to be quite fitting.
Also it would be pretty off-putting and would definitely catch a lot of people off-guard. People assume their interrogator to be intense and intimidating but then are met with Ino's beauty and charm. Taking advantage of their underestimation paired with Ino's intense personality and pride, she'd be able to get the job done. All she needs is hard experience. (Didn't Ibiki go through torture including having a DRILL through the head???)

Solid list, although, I think Ino is above Shikamaru. Her usefulness as an adult is craaazy. She's responsible for turning Leaf into an impenetrable fortress. And her clan served as a walkie talkie during the war, which was invaluable.
Ino's biggest accomplishment is using mind transfer jutsu on obito and even made a beast bomb miss
I feel like shikamaru preventing a world war twice, making sure the entire village is actually functional and playing a huge part in keeping an eye on amado and kawaki makes him deserve a higher spot on the list. I might be a bit biased but I feel like sasuke got a huge boost because of his power.
Sasuke has the advantage of being able to do what only he could but I agree. Shikamaru is instrumental for Konoha.

Sakura is the coolest character in my opinion. No special bloodline, no ninja family members, and did one thing so well that she broke the verse. Team 7 has absurd characters and no other team in history compares to it, and Sakura deserves her spot. She could not have been represented worse in og Naruto, but she is the most impressive ninja given her lack of background.
I'm sure people are dying to tell me why my opinion isn't valid, but I assure you that I have had almost two decades to think about this. Also, she's the hottest adult (which I am willing to hear arguments for, provided it comes with sources)

A lot of people don't realize how scary Sai was. Simply because his techniques were subtle and wont cause godly amount of destruction(some of his techniques can do it, but those again were not his primary attacks anyway). Plus Kankuro's squad's defeating Deidara and Sasori was so instrumental, as they both specialized in combat against multiple enemies. Specially Deidara. If deidara had reached the battle field, there would have been C4 karura everywhere.

It’s amazing that Boruto has made Ino and Sakura valuable and interesting characters and simultaneously keeps most of the interesting ideas a sequel series specific to Naruto could use in spin-off novels. I’ll always be fascinated by what could have been if the Naruto IP carried more of its themes forward and examined how the Konoha 13 defined their new generation, as the final arcs of several characters in Shippuden pushed as the main message, instead of skipping to the next one and introducing virtually completely new ideas and themes.

This video also makes you realize that although Neji is at the bottom of the list, his role was one of the most significant. It helps argue that his death wasnt "pointless" or an "ass pull" by Kishimoto. It helps you realize that Neji actually put Naruto AND Sasuke in their place, and gave them BOTH someone to strive to be stronger than.
His death still is all of that I don't see how this changes that, Lee was doing Neji's job better in putting them in their place. And all the genius vs hard work falls flat at the end.
I think his death signifies the death of a lot of the lessons that old Naruto was running with, because hard to say “hard work conquers talent” when Naruto is well on the way to becoming Jesus 😂

Kishimoto originally wanted to kill Neji and Lee in the sasuke retrieval arc to the sound village 4 and Kimimaro. So actually all of Neji and Lee after that point was an ass pull. Only reason they stayed was cause Kishimotos editors said people liked them to much. Frankly I think Neji should’ve died then as much as I loved him

I would love a video on what IF orochimaru actually successfully absorbed Kimimaro instead of trying to take over sasukes body and the illness wasn't a factor, how strong could a kimimaro orochimaru become, his wide range of jutsu, his ability to use hashirama etc by resurrecting them and controlling them, combined with the hardened steel bones and snake abilities, coupled with a four tailed hydra with bone protection how strong could he have been and who could he take down if itachi hadn't got him with the totsuka blade 1 shot how much of a threat could he have been, considering he took out one of the kazekage and gaara was hitting kimimaro with a full battlefield full of sand full power sand burial he has some insane durability feats

Wouldn't he lost the body after 3 years? He has to switch bodies even if he doesn't want to also, Does Orochimaru keep the Kekkei Genkais of previous bodies after he switches to a new one? I don't know since he always uses only snakes and his sword to fight, maybe he could install the Kekkei Genkais like Kabuto did but that doesn't need the switching bodies part so maybe it wouldn't make any difference at all if he took his body, he just needed to install his Kekkei Genkai into the newest body to use it.

At least one of my favorites (Shikamaru) has a good role in the new era. Shino & Tenten are just as shafted as they've always been, with Shino still being too badass that they hold him back and Tenten holding the record for best hide-and-seek player.

I mean yeah Hinata did it, but only cause she was the only one that really saw what was going on because of her Byakugan. Naruto didnt go mad cause it was Hinata, but rather because it was one of his friends, legit if Choji wouldve jumped in, or Shikamaru he would have reacted the exact same way. And saying "but they didnt do it", yes Hinata had the courage to do it, but also was she pretty much the only one knowing what was going on. If Shikamaru knew that naruto was on the verge of dying right there he wouldve interfered aswell.
Without Minato, that would have been the day that Kuruma broke the seal also resulting in Minato's death

Then Kishimoto again brings up Naruto specifically saying Hinata getting stabbed by Pain was the worst pain of his life.
Not losing Sasuke.
Not hurting Sakura.
Not the loss of Kakashi.
Not the loss of Jiraiya.
Hinata getting stabbed.
The writer wrote that specifically.
The writer put Hinata there specifically... Not any other character.
So to say he'd do it for anyone is just people projecting their interpretations of Naruto on the manga which was specifically written to show him doing it for Hinata which is emphasized by Naruto doubling down on the pain he felt watching it happen later on.

I personally think that if you talked about currently in the Boruto manga, Sakura is the most useful character because she is most likely the person that will be the eighth hokage cause Naruto is in a timeless dimension and sasuke is a rouge ninja and she is the strongest in the village currently

Here's the thing, they both are doing a lot but I don't think you realize how significant Sakura's actions are. Sakura came to the realization after the war that most of their adversaries were war orphans who were traumatized by the events of war and whose trauma caused them to lash out against the world. The Ame Orphans, Madara, Obito and even Orochimaru all lost a lot because of war and were traumatized and tormented by it. She realized that the best way to prevent that from happening again was to create a hospital dedicated to giving orphaned children the psychological help and support they need. Kakashi approved it, Tsunade advised and Ino funded it but Sakura created it and is the head of this special hospital.
That I'd phenomenal. She recognized the issue. That tons of children were going through this heart ache without any help and so she decided to be the help they needed. She cuts the problem at the root. Instead of just waiting for another traumatized orphan to start a war she took it upon herself to prevent, to the best of her abilities, someone like them starting another world wide apocalypse.
So Sakura saved the world, saved hundreds of lives, went around the world helping people and saving lives with Sasuke and created a hospital to help orphan children and give them the support they need.
I love how him saying Sasuke is the "Shadow Hokage" just means that he's the "Shadow Fire Shadow"

I think Rock Lee was also influential to Naruto by reminding him he gave Sakura his "nice guy smile" meaning Naruto gave his promise to bring Sasuke back. This put something in Naruto to keep his promise to Sakura; maybe because he had feelings for her at the time and/or because he needed to do it for himself. However, Rock Lee reminded Naruto of this little fact that solidified his resolve.

Neji can see and react to every single bug. No sneaking. Plus he can eject any bugs that try to get inside him. In his fight against Kidomaru showed him keeping up with a long distance fighter.
Unless Shino finds some way to surprise and enter some bugs into Sasuke, there's no way the bugs are getting Sasuke either. He can see & react to each bug with his Sharingan. He's as fast as no weight Lee even without curse mark 1. He uses fire style which are the bugs' weakness. He has a fast technique in the chidori.
As much as I would've liked to. I can't put Shino above the rest on the list. He's still one of the strongest genin in part 1. Temari & Gaara are the only genin from outside Konoha who are stronger.
