Both Naruto and Bleach in my case. Bleach with it's very just great fashion and Naruto with simple yet realistic art and atonomy are just perfect. Imagine a fusion between Kubo and Kishimoto lol.
Naruto artstyle is so underrated. It's one of those things like in video games where a control or character movement is so good and seamless that it can be hard to notice until you play a clunky game. Naruto's artstyle is like that I feel. It's not super abstract or stylized to the point where the style itself is a novelty, but it just looks 'effortlessly' great and blends in.
Kishimoto artstyle stuck with me. I always draw the fold like his in every draw I make. Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of Hunter x Hunter says that the way Kishi draws a fold remind him of Hayao Miyazaki. Also fun fact Kishimoto loves animations, that impacted his drawings.. and the changing of his artstyle from first to middle era happens because of animator name Tetsuya Nishio. The simplicity that Kishimoto brought in the middle era is from him, but the way he draws hands comes from Hiroaki Samura. I like this breakdown videos, keep up bro!
This was actually incredibly detailed and informative, it really detailed the key elements especially with the eyes which are definitely a cornerstone of any art style
I really loves the way Nishio draws people. It looks simple and the proportions was just right. His other works like Ghost in The Shell also looks amazing.
Amazing video, finally someone who actually knows what they're talking about, and gives actual in depth detail. Although a valid assumption, Kishimoto never used microns, it was all exclusively G-pen work, which makes his clean work in this middle part of the series even all the more impressive. Ultimately i believe that's what lead to him getting completely burned out by the end, which resulted in the more rough almost sketchy look towards the end of the manga.
It truly is a testament to kishis abilities that near the middle to the end of the war arc he was very fatigued (visibly) and still made some stunning panels and stayed on model
This era of Kishimoto art is my favorite, simple but stylized and retaining personality. Early was good but looked to wild for my taste and late era was just way too simplified and sorta rectangular.
INSTA SUBSCRIBED!!!! This is EXACTLY THE TYPE OF VIDEO I WAS LOOKING FOR! PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE! PLEASEEEEEEEEE! Analyze other mangakas too! I learned so much from one video about stylization. F*ck , i cant put into words how good this is, but please do more! Also bonus point for going straight to the point instead of having 10 minutes intro and outros and constantly interuptions to make jokes. This a true educational video, thank you!
When I was watching this, all I was thinking was "Please tell me there's more of these." Checked the channel and thank god, that was a really good video.
I wanna be a mangaka when I grow up. So I've been watching lots of videos on how to become one, studying artstyles to hone my skills and focusing much more in writing then I used to. I've been coming up with stoys writing them down and putting them in a portfolio. This vid is great help for me to practise my drawing skills. Much appreciation for this vid 💓
I didn't appreciate Shippuuden art at the time, but now I'm always amazed at how accurately he can draw dynamic poses from all kinds of angles and make the folds look right
This was great. You gotta do Bleach Espada full bring or and war arc. I try to draw like Tite Kubo and i want to hear if you break it down like i do in my head when i analyze his work
Really cool video bro. You have my like and sub. Are you think about making more style breakdowns? This was really informative and easy to follow. Good job ;)
For me, the worst part about Ikemoto is that, unlike Kishimoto's dynamic inking, his lining feels dull, static and mostly repetative. Kishimoto's strenght was forms and simplicity yet retaining realism and dynamics. Also, these distorted lens angles.. Hopefully Ikemoto will improve, but to me it looks like the guy is just too scared to experiment with his style.
Can you do one about gege akutami's style in the near future. These are really helpful in breaking down their style and signature marks. Really cool stuff, thanks for the effort into these!!
Can you make a boruto manga art style's breakdown video, please? Even though the characters' faces often look badass, in my opinion in terms of character poses, fight choreography, background place or environment design (including place shading), the camera angles are much better in naruto. I really hope kishimoto not only takes over boruto's story, but also draws it...
Please do a Tokyo Ghoul analysis. I’ve always loved the art from the series but could never breakdown why. Maybe because of how it can switch from a softer look to aggressive in the same panel but🤷🏾♂️
about the eyes, he usually uses the general 4/3 of an eye in between the eyes which is generally used by some mangaka that want their characters to look young, which I took for my own style lmao, a tip for 3/4 or simply not straight on view, measure the center of the face, draw the closest eye first, measure 2/3 from that eye to the center line, draw the other eye, and make sure that also the distance from the farther eye to the center line is also 2/3 OF THAT FURTHER EYE BTW, you can do a quick test by measuring the closest eye and see if it fits in between the two since it generally will, also practice and study, and repeat! GL!
also becareful with how you are meassuring things since perspective is always present, you can see how the op misses with their explanation when explaining how the thirds sometimes changes and that's because of perspective, if you are looking up the lower thirds will seem longer and vice versa
i think understanding the fact that all of the clothes and textiles in the naruto-universe probably werent machined and instead handmade it would explain why theyre so seemingly thick, but who knows, who cares.
EARLY ERA: ua-cam.com/video/hPEOtUes0Ag/v-deo.html
Naruto’s artwork is what inspired me. It is so simple and legible. Even though personal style gets in the way, I love drawing in that style.
Both Naruto and Bleach in my case.

I'm rediscovering it, and Kishimoto is really good. He doesn't get enough credit as an artist.
Like the gameplay of tales of graces f, best combat/title system in the series imho
@@pkj2148yeah seriously
Middle Era was definitely the most aesthetic, and visually appealing.
This is by far, and I really mean this, THE BEST analysis of Kishimoto's style. Well done!
Please do more...

Naruto’s art is so clean imo
This is without a doubt one of the best analysis I've seen on Kishimoto's style. Excellent video👍👍👍
As someone who draws tons of Naruto fanart, this was an engaging watch.
How can i see your works
do you share or post your fanart anywhere?
I think Naruto's manga might be my personal favorite style. It's SO satisfying.

thank you for highlighting part of kishimoto's genius that often goes overlooked
Kishimoto's art is very clean, so that is why fights where very great to see.

You're the only one i could find who could explain and break down the artstyles of bleach and naruto so clearly
Thank you😊

Love the Shiki No Uta in the background 👌🏿 really adds to the energy of the video!
love how detailed your breakdowns are, theres nobody who goes into this much detail
Always loved how simple Kishimoto drew the hair and clothes.
This era of Kishimoto art is my favorite, simple but stylized and retaining personality. Early was good but looked to wild for my taste and late era was just way too simplified and sorta rectangular.
never really paid attention on the naruto artstyle all that much so I am now just realising how interesting it is
You gave Tenten more screentime than Kishi ever did.

love this video.
Late era is really underrated imo,
That was by far the best art style explained videos i've seen, broke things down in such an easy digestible way.
this breakdown was amazing, i’d love to see one talking about the era of art before and/or after the middle era
looking forward to the other era breakdowns

Sclera is the white part of the eyes, not the colored. The colored part is the iris, the dot in the middle is the pupil.
