as a skater, that would work better for decoration than actual riding purposes. the deck isn't gonna have a very good pop and likely won't last too long with that split. I could be wrong but the deck looked waterlogged and I know for sure that painting the wheels wasn't a smart move if it was intended to be functional
that being said it is a great restoration
i mean, it also isnt really a restoration.. that board would be dead after one use, literally he just glued down some chipping and painted all over it but it would be good for decoration
The trucks still seemed decent, would change out bushings. New bearings would be good as well, and especially new deck, that's gonna lose its tail after a ollie

Very nice work. As someone who skated for many years, since the deck is de-laminating, I would have just focused it and thrown it in a dumpster. lol.
This takes me back to when I was growing up. Neighbourhood friends modding their skateboards, exchanging wheels and adding neon grip tape. Then also adding interesting stickers. Finally roaring down the sidewalks to the local cafe to buy candies and sodas.

The nuts need to be replaced too, the nyloc style nuts will not really hold on anymore, and you don't want to loose a wheel or axle if it can be avoided.
Add hardware trucks and grip tape and you're set

I always read the comments, because I want to know what the others think. There are 2 meanings, do not use it and sad that you do not use it… funny. For me it was clear from the first second that this can only be for decoration, as the board had cracks and you glue it. For a Board in use this is useless… so there is no need for complaining that you did not use it at the end. That you clean and paint the wheelaxles, and did not buy new ones, this is why I like this channel. Painting the wheels is in my opinion to much, here I agree to buy new ones, but again as it is only for decoration I can live with that! In all, thanks for the trip in the past and what a nice deco part in your Collection! Thumbs up for this!
The skater in me wanted to dislike video for restoring a Walmart Board.. But the business man in me let it slide. $20 Walmart board. $573 for material, labor cost and editing.. Estimate $800-$1,000 ad revenue for 265k views.. Keep up the great work!

Kids if you can't afford a skateboard or bike, go digging around your local dump/landfill. It's amazing what people throw away. My first gold Stingray my dad found at the dump and he set it up with slick tires and fixed it all up for me. I didn't care that it was used, it was new to me! No matter how grimy, rusted, or gunky something is, it's still shiny underneath. You don't need a sandblaster, just get a sheet of sandpaper and apply elbow grease and get to it!

It is rare to see a complete skateboard in these conditions, they are usually split in half or are missing parts (it is very common for those who like this sport to split or remove parts for other skateboards).

you wouldnt be able to really use that well because the board wont really have any pop anymore. but it would be good for decorations tho. maybe you can cruise on it but i doubt it would survive a boardslide or an ollie especially after using water on it but still, good job on restoring it sir!
And the bearings are grays so it won’t be the best board to ride

Hermano buen video y todo pero ya a primera vista todo lo que son los trucks o ejes están completamente arruinados por otro lado la tabla puede ser que hubiese tenido salvación pero el único error imperdonable fue lavarla con agua no soy hater ni nada por el estilo el resto de vídeos son increíbles debo de admitirlo y la tabla te quedó muy bonita

I don't care how good you are at restoring objects...when you bring a skateboard back to life, you skate it, or learn to skate it. I have spoken. Just kidding, that goes up a wall!!!
Although I haven't shared in years, I still really admire decks as an art form. Thing is, looking at them from the perspective of an ex-skater, I find it funny that companies will make things that look so nice knowing that they're being built to be immediately damaged.
I think its kind of beautiful, I for one really enjoy wearing away at the cool designs it shows the history of the board in a cool way :). That being said I'm gonna fully restore my board, I've had it since I was 11 and its seen better days

I restored a board I found on the beach a few weeks ago. Wheels wouldn’t budge, bearings rusted solid. Had to soak in PBlaster for three days to break them loose. But yours still rolled. Interesting
sand blasting is so loud, but it sounded soft and gentle in this video

You just repaired a $30 complete deck and I still wouldn’t skate it. Looks amazing, but it’d snap in 5 mins.

You can use a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive on the deck to make it more easier to remove the griptape!!

I think it's cool that you redid the wood too. But does that deck have like ANY spring left in it? Nothing worse than a board that doesn't let you do tricks.

Those wheels and truck bushings will be back to their old faded selves after anyone rides that board just a handful of times. It was probably done with the idea that it is going to sit on a shelf somewhere. Definitely not a fix that would last any riding at all.
