I never thought someone could get so much hate for trying to clean up a old skateboard
I've noticed the same thing in the comment section. Yeah I agree with it being water logged and sanding the wheel but at the end of the video it was a sweet look
i know its dumb
Same, even thought the skateboard probably won’t be skate-able it still looks pretty clean
its because u simply cant because once the woods fucked up and water logged then its pointless and sanding the wheels is so dumb

Seriously.. no one would restore bearings
Muito obrigada estava precisando mesmo 🤡
In the beginning I thought “I actually have an old board, maybe I can follow his steps“ ehm I better buy a new one
He didn't show everything he used and the spray painting is not necessary. I would like to do the same with my first board, but probably replace some parts.
Buy new bushings pivot cups griptape and bearings then your good
Trust me its not
@Steven Uhlig thank you :33 I appreciate this. Probably start in a weeks. 😅 I need to buy a few things first and need a few quiet hours :3
@Steven Uhlig I love that skaters help each other thank you brotha!💪
I’m curious to know who would abandon a board with nearly zero tail wear. Beautiful end product though- nice job
Lots of people. Why do you think we are watching this video
@@sever427 😬 ohhhhh okay. Guess I’m not rich enough to feel that way. Pass me a couple bucks your Highness 👑
@@IvanFazekas definitely not rich just took a bit off a break left one of my boards alone for a good while now I wanna see if I can bring that sucker back
@@loli_cvnt5622 whoosh. His name has the word emperor in it. Guess that flew over your head. Edit: gotta clarify - it. Was. A. Play. On. The. Wording.
Who knows it still had lots of life to it.
I like how he used gloves for non important things but when he ACTUALLY needs gloves he uses his bare hands!!
(ง'̀-'́)ง
and he sands with the grit against his palms.
Hahahhaha
Tip:Use a blow dryer when removing grip tape, it helps with losing the adhesive making it easier to peel off.
Yup
Yes, but old grip tape is fairly easy to take off.
Props to this guy for cleaning all the parts, I'd probably just save up a bit of money and buy some new trucks, gripetape and some wheels.
You'd need to buy the whole thing new noob. That decks already weak
@jay It still functions, I could care less about skating a "soggy board"
yeah like if that skateboards covered in water that boards doneso
@@dunnod I guess it depends, it might break fast but again it still functions yk
Actually the trucks were fine after some easy cleaning so I’d just buy bearings, wheels, hardware and bushings
Imagine this was your board you lost in years and you found this video watching this guy cleaning it LMAO 🤣🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Cleaning"
Also the board is definitely not old, and no ones grip tape looks like that naturally. I would put money on the line to say that he owns the board anyway and just made it look old.
Lyrikek not to say if it is fake but do you know what abandoned means. A mansion that can be newly built can be abandoned. Cmon man
@@thesharinganknight9859 Please excuse poor usage of words. Abandoned things are old I thought, but you are correct. Althoigh the video is definitely fake.
Lyrikek you good people disliking the video and thrashing the board and his gripping bc of not knowing what the word is. I honestly don't care about my board not gripping at the edges bc you can sand it down. At least he didn't get air bubble ya know?

Did anyone else feel kinda wired when he took the bearings out with a screw driver like that instead of the truck hanger.
And putting them back in..use the trucks not a tool

I'm not sure if it's just me but I feel like an aspect of the old board should have been kept. It's an incredible transformation and it's awesome that so many parts were kept but I feel like the soul of the board was lost. Again, incredible transformation. The before and after look like completely different boards.
So he did everything but sand the edges of the griptape before cutting it
Yes and my bones are shaking and my skateboards are hiding
The ONE thing that needed sanding
Also he couldve just applied heat to the fucked griptape instead of ripping it off
What video did you watch? He definitely sanded the edges of the grip. . .
@@thousandcanine i think what was meant was that he didn't "sand down" the edges of the grip before cutting off the overhanging griptape - as you would normally do with a wrench, skatetool, or any metal item, so the griptape is easier to cut afterwards :)
I have got to see someone try to skate this damn thing.
Derek Wheeler it would snap instantly because who knows how weak the wood is and it looks damp and old
Boggyz You missed the joke..
@@nicklasnuez4059 I don't get it?
@@nicklasnuez4059 there was no joke
@@Maxboniface it wouldnt snap instanlty lol
IT WAS SOOO PAINFUL WATCHING HIM GRIP THE DECK...
The weird thing is he has a element griptape file and it's been well used. It's the weirdest thing. He uses the worst creased griptape, and he didn't even use the griptape file for what it was meant for. Then him sanding the wheels was just painful to watch. All his wheels are going to be different sizes and possibly have a flat spot
Why?
@@rileygibson242 didnt file it and its horribly creased. Also how he cut it
This just showed up in my feed. Very cool! It just goes to show what can be done with the right tools, knowledge of those tools, patience and love for the craft. And I bet that board rides fine. Maybe won't last as long as a brand new board set up, but I'm sure for cruising or doing simple tricks it rides fine.
Him spraying WD-40 on the bearings me 😑
Same 😑
Facts i was like bruh them shits shot
and he fucking disassembles them, just throw it in some acetone or even vinegar, that'll take care of them
Same dude. Good god.
This must be fake tho, no sign of razor tail, no chips, no deep scratches from the slide marks. But the wd 40 triggerd me the most lol
When he put the bearings on backwards😍🥰🥰🥰🥰
That hurt
Do you even skate

@@andreas.619 ikr all these restore videos of shoes and skateboards are literally thrown in mud
It's abandoned. It doesn't mean it's old what the hell.
He didn’t need to sand the wheels first of all
Bro your bearings are locked up like that because of the dw40😂 it attracts dirt
IKR 😂😂
Wd40 is water based I'll never..
......NEVER!!!!!!!!!! use it on my bearings EVER AGAIN it'll just melt right off the wheels 😓🤭🤬. just use Crisco or any dollar store cooking oil to soak bearings 🤭🤭
Buy gun oil or bearing oils
@@davyjones2994 i was thinking the same thing. Guy shouldve used BreakFree CLP
I've melted butter over my bearings and it worked pretty well lol
As soon as this man pulled out the WD-40, I already knew has was working a bit out of his knowledge zone 😭
@@daidoexposure specifically for the bearings, you don’t wanna use WD-40 because the solution doesn’t properly lubricate the bearings. You wanna use a silicone-based lubricant so that it doesn’t dry out
i’ve been using WD-40 for mine and they work the same?
@@luisalas24 WD40 makes your bearings rust... it evaporates, leaving all the dirt clumped up in your bearings. the dirt scratches out the tracks the balls run in, which causes more friction, which causes heat and slower bearings altogether until they freeze
I used WD40 for my first skateboard I ever had and the board stopped rolling
Ik the dw40 made me fell like this 😭
Muito top esse video
Bearings are toast, no surprise there. The bushings, hardware and axels are where you got lucky. Usually need to be rethreaded. No pressure cracks in the wood show the previous owner really wasn't that active on the board. It's practically brand new deck.
10:31 when your dog is out of breath
jorge ruiz so underrated
Yooooo diss will blow up I see it
Never would I have ever thought in 14 years of skating I would come across this like (buys a new complete) I did enjoy how unusual this video is to me though
You did Enjoi?
Me ‘the deck actually looks cool’
Him ‘no, plain deck’
Every skater looking at you sand the wheels: “Look at this idiot🤣🤣”
Facts
HAHAHAH FACTS
🤣
I'm not even a skater and I know damn well you shouldn't sand the wheels lmao
Its fine but you better buy a knew one
The best restorer that i have seen in the world
That board was barely used lmao, it was burried and dug out to make it look old
Facts the wheels trucks and bearings should be broken if its old
I thought I was the only one who noticed that
When I was a small child, I had a skateboard that got left outside. It didn't hold up because I didn't understand how to take care of it. I also didn't really skate it, so it didn't have razor tail either.
Yep. And then he did all that work to make a board that's completely useless.
Grip tape doesn’t come off that easy unless it was setup a few days before. If this board was actually old he’d need a heat gun to melt the glue and it wouldn’t be coming off like a bandaid like he’s doing at 7:30 . I’ve taken grip off old snapped decks it’s not an easy task
I would’ve bought another one must’ve been water logged
BRCDE V1 lol tbh I thought he was gonna power wash it☠️ I was about to cry😂
The pain in my bones when he used WD40 but other than that great job it looks great 👍
Mano ficou lindo demais, maravilhoso 😍👏🏾
Tip: WD-40 will attract moisture resulting in rust. Edit: Read Henry’s reply below me. If you use it you should use lube afterwards.
Incorrect it displaces it. Eg the name. Water displacement 40. The proper thing to do is use WD 40 to remove moisture dirt and corrosion then pack the bearing with a suitable PTFE lube or grease.

@@sam.setzer4936 old doesn't mean used/worn. It's actually restoration of ABANDONED skateboard, which means different to all of those. Look it up! A board could be brand new and abandoned. This board was DIRTY and ABANDONED. That does not mean it will have wear LOL.
Great work, ignore the haters. The board is not ruined and perfectly skatable, only noobs bellieve its not, you don't need the newest, best skateboard. Have you seen what Rodney Mullen skated in the 80's and he still did sick tricks and even invented tricks on shitty boards.
WD-40 Is not good for the bearings but ok
Or
Bushings
Oscar P. Bruh stfu🤣 just coz he’s not a SkAtEr like u
Actually it doesn’t hurt them either, it’s a lubricant. It’s meant to keep things turning, so stfu and learn more
PrLx Geo except it isn’t, actually. in actuality WD40 is a solvent or rust dissolver, the lubrication is a byproduct of its components, the same components that will attract dirt and seize your bearings the minute you start skating
PrLx Geo how about YOU learn your shit ik mine.
Dude really sanded down the wheels lmao where he took off the graphics it was cringe
Was thinking the same thing. Would wanna hope he got them all the same size still lol
Why is it cringe? Sanding down wheels is the best way to get rid of flat spots mate...
@@MrMrWattz Its not cringe people are just fucking stupid. It was a used board and the wheels were probably flat spotted or uneven.
