This was another Great Video Review! I will be the first one to tell you I have an off day at the Range once or twice a year. Plus Young Beretta Skills are so good these days, he out shoots me on most range days in 2019. The Student has become the Master. I am just trying to keep up with him at 52 years old and just enjoy the Channel to the best of my ability. Any way I am getting off topic. Your Smith&Wesson Revolvers Look Fantastic, and I watched the Triggers...... they looked very good too. I always enjoy your work Justin.... keep up the great work Sir! I enjoy the Show!

Wonderful revolvers both of those models .. I have owned the the model 19 for years now and still it's my EDC at times .. 19 years ago i found a mint model 586 and even to this very day it is one of my favorite revolvers to carry and get range time in , in fact it is my EDC today ... i also have hunted with it too for deer...Well done i'm glad you covered two fine revolvers like these models are..

I have XLG hands w/long thin fingers & was taught to use a thumb over thumb across the backstrap grip in my 1968 police academy training. I still use that (muscle memory) and find it really helps w/taming recoil, especially shooting magnums.

Both are beautiful & the 19 just stands out with the wood grips & the blueing, although not the blueing of the past, as I believe there are some environmental regulations about that, correct me if I’m wrong on that, which is why it’s hard to come by guns that have that real glossy blueing, but still very nice as is.

I watched this Review Video again, and I enjoyed it again! The 686 Big Girl with the big orange hair is starting to really grow on me, and I am liking her more and more these days. I think I need one!! Is it because it is A Race Gun, A Competition gun, or just because it is another performance center revolver from Smith & Wesson?? I’m not sure what the reason is, but I just gotta have one, and that is all the reason I need. :)

picked up a moded 19 a couple of weeks ago - pulling back on the hammer seemed stressful so i removed the front plate and noticed that the little spring inserted in the double action sear was protruding out - it was bent up pretty badly from the sear pushing against it every time i pulled back on the hammer - S&W is sending me another spring, waiting for it to arrive - hard to believe one little spring jammed up the whole gun

Revolvers for 2019 carry?? Really, Hmm...:
    - S&W 38 Specials
    - to heavy 1911s in 45 ACP
    - to six shot, S&W .357 Magnums
    - to futuristic striker-fired, lightweight polymer, high-capacity, easy to hit under stress pistols
    - back to six shot, S&W .357 Magnums
    - back to everyone making their version of the heavy 1911's
    FULL-CIRCLE
Next will .38 Special come out of retirement too.
EDIT - Note: *The gun industry is amazing how they come up with different ways to make more money.*

    • @sweetcostarica
      @sweetcostarica 4 роки тому +1

@Liverpool 11 First of all, my opinion is "Just an Opinion" ; ) You carry whatever you like.
*I have never had to shoot anyone* (except for using *Pepper Gel* on one of two (2) bad guys).
So I am not an expert in actual gun fighting but here is what I've read, my US Navy experience, and some facts from books I have read:
      - When Police transitioned to striker-fired handguns (mainly the Glock) their accuracy improved 30% (hitting their targets) over revolvers.
      - The striker-fired, polymer handguns were simple to train with & learn their manual of arms.
      - The double-action to single-action transition of revolvers was a hard thing for some to learn.
      - The high capacity magazines were a God send to Law Enforcement in handling bad guys with more firepower than the police.
      - CCW Calibers used in America:
      70% of the U.S. use 9mm
      10% use .40 S&W
      9% use 45 ACP
      11% use "other" caliber
      Notes:
      - The 11% "other" calibers include the .22LR, .25, .32, 380 ACP, .357 mag., .44 mag., 10mm, 5,7x28mm, etc.
      - The Worlds usage of 9mm is probably even higher than above U.S. figures.
      *Informed (opinion) conclusion:*
      1. Mouse gun calibers are not recommended for self-defense.
      2. Best caliber(s) to use for CCW is the *9mm.* World police & World military agree with this
as most folks use the 9mm including US police & military.
      3. The revolver calibers are getting less popular and more expensive the use.
You said, *"...locker rooms and bathrooms have holes in them."*
That was an early issue with the transition from revolvers to striker-fired gun handling, Glock type safeties, & even
the different type holster required for striker-fired guns..
Today those early AD/NDs are very low in comparison. I have used Glocks for a least 15 years and never had an AD/ND and my TV is still hole-less.
      *Lets be Real*
Following gun safety is the easiest way to never, ever have a issue with AD/NDs
Complete Gun safety rules from Glock's Website
Handle all firearms as if they were loaded.
Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.
Keep your finger out of the gun’s trigger guard and off the trigger until you have aligned the gun’s sights on a safe target and you have made the decision to fire.
Always be certain that your target and the surrounding area are safe before firing.
Whenever you handle a firearm, the first thing you should do (while keeping it pointed in a safe direction with your finger outside the trigger guard) is to open the action to determine whether or not the firearm is loaded.
Thoroughly read the instruction manual supplied with your firearm.
Before firing your weapon, you should routinely make sure that your firearm is in good working order and that the barrel is clear of dirt and obstructions.
Only use high quality commercially manufactured ammunition meeting applicable SAAMI, CIP or NATO standards and always be sure that the caliber matches the caliber of your GLOCK pistol.
Quality ear and eye protection should always be worn when shooting or observing.
Never use firearms while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
All firearms should be stored unloaded and secured in a safe storage case, inaccessible to children and untrained adults.
The transportation of firearms is regulated by national and local laws. Always transport your firearm in a safe, unloaded condition and in accordance with applicable laws.
      Stay frosty.

Yes, it's the cylinder release. It was designed for competition shooters, and has been an add-on part for years. It allows you to quickly open the cylinder without altering your grip on the gun. It is certainly not intended for a carry gun.

Staging the trigger isn't cheating. It is what makes single action moot.
