Thank you Morpheus and Ali ( spell check) for another awesome video! 😎 So much value here, great tutorial, fun to watch, effective and a SERIOUS game changer for anyone who wants to get away from the heat! Love it!
Loll. Love it. Great editing and hilarious little skit. Uh, M & Ms 😂😂. But 8 hours of run time is perfect. The placing of your ac is perfecto. Great video!!
@@perfectfitboating aww brother, thanks. Loved the video.. We might try something different next year, still not 100% satisfied. Thank God we are going into winter. This year has been brutal with the record breaking heat. Big hugs brother. Still playing catch up with your videos. Not sure why I haven't seen the alerts come up. 🤔
Bro te quedo muy bien el video, muy bien explicado y genial lo de las escenas actuadas, esa linea promete... Un fuerte abrazo y nada ahora 0 calor en el agua 🚤
Wow! I didn't realize you could have AC for so cheap. Great job and video guys! If I might suggest, you should swap the extension cord for a multi-outlet power strip; that way if you want to operate another electrical device while inside the cabin you won't have to run a separate extension cord from the generator. 😉
Hey Mikey thanks for the comment! We’re actually thinking of changing this ac system for a window unit and mounting it permanently. Out On The Reef’s channel has had us thinking about ideas to do so. I think that’s a project I’ll be doing in the upcoming weeks. And thanks for the tip! We actually are going to set up a power strip just like you suggest, with multiple outlets and usb connections for running other devices and charging our phones, drones and cameras! We’ll also be installing an ac panel for running shore power but that’ll be in the future! Thanks for the comment brother! 🤙
Thank you so much! We just got another ac system it’s a hatch ac. Cruisair carry-on by dometic! We’re going to do a video on that one and hopefully have it run off lithium when we can’t use our genset! 🤙
Do let us know how long this air conditioner can last as from my understanding, marine air conditioners are designed to operate at various angles and under different conditions typical on boats. They often incorporate features to prevent oil from settling, ensuring proper function even when the vessel is underway or at an angle.
Great video guys! For a second, I really thought Ali fainted! I like it when you improvise, and it works out fine. Great idea for the generator mount. Once again, another enjoyable video.
Just a thought, when dealing with a boat in limited power supplies, you're looking for efficiency. An intake and an exhaust which are both routable to the outside are far more efficient and require far less power. Unfortunately the type of AC that you bought with the single exhaust takes your cool air from your cabin and ejects it outside and sucks additional warm air in. Sometimes spending a little more money for a better product is in your best interest. That said, your installation was very clean and well done
Youre 100% correct. I thought this idea would work in theory and it does work. But like you said it’s inefficient and requires a bit more modifying. It’s funny you mentioned in your other comment about a hatch AC because that’s exactly what we’re going to upgrade to. There’s plenty laying around on market place, just waiting for an 8000 btu one to pop up. That imo is the best solution. More efficient and frees up all the cabin space like you mentioned. We’re going to make another video once we find a good domestic carryon hatch ac on market place! 🤙
I don't follow that. Why would you want to intake 90 degree outside air? Like in a car A/C using the recirculate control much better cooling by intaking the already cooled interior air. What'dya think?
We actually used this unit on our last trip to Bahia Honda in the Florida keys and it worked amazing! And it was HOT every day. We might just stay with this setup it’s just a little more simple. 🤙
Congrats! Hope you enjoy the A.C. It is a game changer for us that have smaller vessels an enjoy overnights and just hanging in comfort. Great video and great instructions. Keep them coming. regards.
Thank you my brother! It really is a game changer. No one can handle this south Florida heat on a boat without some type of cooling. Thank you for the positive comments! 🤙
Con un aire portable empezamos nosotros y se duerme súper bien. El único inconveniente es que hay que levantarse en la madrugada a rellenar el generador pero ya tenemos una solución para eso. Saludos 🖖
Omg game changer here. Love it. I have a swim platform I found second hand at the Dania marine flea market years ago. I would just mount the generator to that. I would love to send u a pic of that platform. I’m sure u appreciate it. It looks like the boat came with it. P.S. so glad I found your channel 🙌🏼
Loved the video guys looks like it going to be a nice setup for hanging out I used a company I found on face to make my doors and hatches call drumco marine and plastic check them out for the door
Dont need to get new doors made. Just get some white marine canvas or fabric and cut and them to size of hem the edges for each door then use velcro or snaps to hold them in place. Glue or double side tape velcro to wood in each corner on each door. Sew velcro to white marine canvas or any other marine fabric. You can also cut screen material on each door when not needing full cover or air conditioning to keep bugs and mosquitos out. Easy to do both and just roll them up for storage when not needed. They will fit in to a 12-14” length of 2” or 3” cut piece of pvc with 2 caps.
@bjkgaffmaster that’s a great idea thanks! We thought about using plexiglass or acrylic but the doors are so beat up and almost coming apart that we might just change them out. But your suggestion definitely works for the meantime! Thank you so much! 🤙
Hello cap. This is Out On The Reef , i like your engineering and the carbon monoxide is a smart safety move , now those ac units suck the air from your cabin to cool the unit is not the most efficient but you are going to love the ac at night wen you go to sleep cap. And i would taken the blue 💊 , navigate safe cap
🤣🤣🤣it’s been a long time goal of ours to have you comment on our page Cap! You were one of our inspirations for even taking on this project! Navigate safe and always, PROP CLEAR! 🙏
I actually re did that cabin door in the video where I painted the console. I dropped in a brand new door and it came out pretty good! Thanks for the comment!🤙🛥️🌊
First, never put generator on Cabin Top. CO or Carbon Monoxide is heavier than air. Also, even on the stern, the CO can travel up the cocpit and into the cabin. Be very careful with a portable Gen on a boat. Above all, get a CO Detector. You will never know otherwise of CO poisioning.

Did that vent cover come with the portable AC unit or did you purchase that separately?
If I remember right we got that at Home Depot but they also sell on Amazon. 🤙
Man, just get a marine A/C unit for cosmetic purposes. that unit you got strapped to the wall looks crazy as hell.
Works crazy as hell too 😂
Man I need that in My semi truck at night
It’s not the most efficient but it works. 🤙
@perfectfitboating hey better then sleeping with a fan ...I just hate sleep with the truck on and I don't have a apu system
@@lifeitsgreat you might want to look into a lithium battery system that can run your ac at night. Nice and quiet and your truck stays off.
