Hamato Yoshi was easily the most powerful character in the whole show. Imagine how godlike he'd be if he trained under the Ninja Tribunal. No doubt that if he manifested his spirit as an avatar, he'd be a great golden dragon.
Yoshi's most impressive onscreen accomplishment was beating the shit out of the Elite Guard. However, he's nowhere near as powerful as his reputation claims. Splinter, Shredder, Bishop and Leonardo, who single handedly battled an entire army in The Shredder Strikes Back and put up one hell of a fight, surpassed him easily. Usagi was also shown to be on the same level as Leonardo during the Battle Nexus and Michelangelo has more raw talent than any of his brothers, so the only reason he can't beat the crap out of them is because he doesn't care enough about training.

Looking back on the series as a whole, Splinter always places emphasis on the turtles looking out for one another. Even during the Ninja Tribunal saga, he makes it clear that they’ll need each other more then ever in a world that doesn’t care about them.
Nickelodeon owns the rights to the entire franchise. You have to know what modern Hollywood is like, by now. Maybe you should wait until they prefer great stories over obvious agendas.

I wish the newer tmnt made more of an emphasis on Yoshi, even in the more familial sense he’s essentially the grandfather to the turtles and media like 2012, Rise, and Mutant mayhem that show the more casual family aspect of the family would benefit from having him

A spear vs a sword is like trying to use a sniper rifle against a shotgun. At long range, the sniper will kill its target well out of retaliation's reach quite easily if the user is skilled. But up close, the shotgun will easily outmanuver and outspeed the large and clumsy rifle without much effort

Splinter and Master Yoshi being the same person only came about in the 1987 series. The origin since the comics was always that Splinter was Yoshi's pet who learned martial arts by watching and copying Yoshi's moves. Yoshi eventually is murdered by the Foot and Splinter finds his way to the sewers of New York and well, you know the rest.

There were somethings i like about this version of the TMNT and plenty i didn't
Remember what Yoshi said to Splinter that we will remember Tan Shen for her beauty, kindness and love? Well in the last episode in season 7 i think it would be great if they added Yoshi and Tan Shen together in heaven as they watch how big the family has become, ending the series TMNT 2003. It would be sad but this 2 characters we're special, especially Yoshi 🙂.

I don't think they were meant to be seen as actual family only that they lived together and had a close bond.

I feel like this implies it is more like an orphanage type situation. Is everybody at an orphanage automatically considered to be siblings because they are raised by the same person? I don't personally think so.
But then again 6:38 he says "my son" not 'like my son' so it is a bit confusing as to whether they were family or not.
And at 3:07 they are referred to as a 'makeshift family'.
I think that might have been a mistake on the writer's part. Because it doesn't make sense for them to be family because that would be pseudo-incest and I don't think that is what was intended. So I'm thinking maybe this is a found family type situation? Not actually family but just that that word is used to imply a very close bond? This is just my opinion though because I don't know for sure.

The ratwas always a rat in this version while the 87 version. He was human than a rat. They followed the comic. They portrayed Splinter accurately.
