model united nations is indeed a good learning opportunity. but one can't escape the fact that it is classist and exclusionary. it relentlessly panders to a certain section of private school students who can afford to go to such conferences. MUNs are highly comodified and as a result the very essence of learning in an inclusive environment is lost.
I do agree with that, i have never attended a conference that charges less than 2000 bucks, while I really love MUNs and believe that they are great for character building, it's hard to ignore the fact that it isn't really inclusive. I personally feel the money is all worth the experience.

He is speaking the truth, you guys... Most of the experienced delegates today, try to overpower the less experienced ones, often by the number of conferences they attended or by the awards they got.... This has been a black spot on my MUNning experience...

If not, apply to a conference happening near you by registering on their webpage or facebook page. There is no selection criteria - only interest and enthusiasm for your first conference.
I wish I had stumbled upon this earlier. I had attended MUN this year at Malaysia, feb 15 to 17 feb, 2020. Well it was one of the most amazing experience I ever had. I suggest students to attend MUN if you ever get the chance to. I bet You won’t regret it.
SPARSH TALKS You need to get your self registered when they advertise. After registration there will be selection process that follows. Follow MUN sites in social media to get the updates regularly.

All that because of hefty amount that they charge...besides, children are still not aware enough about what MUNs are all about? MUNs conferences should be advertised throughout the city so that every child knows about it... Only then we can make the best out of it! Never let the good come in the way of best!!! True indeed!!!
I have attended my IMUN yesterday. Being a child from rural community, we won't be affording for it. As it held on online mode it's a one time life oppurtunity for me.

How to get funds( $440) within deadline of 28th November for the MUN being an Indian student as the amount is quite high excluding the Visa and flight ? Please help I don't have idea and have been selected in Asia World MUN II this year and gonna represent India as delegate in 2019
you can if the organised conference has a specialised committee focusing on the government of your country. For example for Bangladesh it would be "Shangshad" spoken in Bengali and for china it would be "The Chinese Communist" spoken in Chinese and so on. I represented UAE in League of Arab States and some of us did speak Arabic. Most were not fluent (Arabic is my 1st language) so they preferred English since it's the globally accepted official language.

MUN should learn from TEDx, They have lots and lots of rules and regulation and licences to put a "TEDx" logo on your event
