    I've always thought $129 for a battery is way overpriced and IMO not having 3rd part charges is just part of their strategy to keep customer buying from them. I think the other reason is that I've always thought that the majority of DJI customers aren't tinkerers and they just want stuff that works which is ok.

    Hi, DJI also lists the Mavic 3 battery as Li-Ion, but it is indeed a Li-Pol battery. I would like so see a third party make Li-Ion drone batteries that will allow keeping fully charged batteries on hand to get a drone up in the air fast without waiting to charge a Li-Pol battery. The DJI Mini 2 can use the Mini 1 Li-Ion batteries, nice.

    Also, I'm pretty sure this is why Drone Camps said the drone has this yaw spin to death. Because the battery is a lithium ion and doesn't have the power for an extreme yaw spin. Typical DJI lock-in bullshit. Call it "smart" and charge 6x the price for lipos. Now they have added DRM to charging too...worst part is the customers are paying for the extra hardware that keeps them from running market price lithium. Can you discharge the battery normally with the XT30 to XT60 connector without the special logic though or would that not work? Namely, if I had a spare Avata battery, could I use it directly on a self-built 4S FPV drone? If not, has anyone created an external adapter with that logic port that would allow using the avata batteries on other drones? Their energy density seems really good for the weight and if you already have the Avata Fly More Kit, you could potentially save on having to buy more batteries for your custom drones...

    The bigger question is what does the official charger charge them to and can you decase them and put an XT60 on them to take advantage of the extra capacity on a regular FPV drone? (Since it appears some DJI batteries charge all the way to 4.5v a cell).

  • @allthenamesaretaken2

    I mean if you got the fly more then you have 2 chargers already. I mean it's not as good as the old 4 Port parallel chargers on the mavics but I honestly would spend $50 buying a 3rd party charger just to charge 3 at a time.
    I'd be more interested in 3rd party batteries. Like the dude that used to make 10000mah batteries for the mavic pro that gave it 30-40min flight times.

    Could it be they adjust the voltage according to the current state of the battery

  • @GeorgeCooper_LoneWolf
    @GeorgeCooper_LoneWolf Рік тому +2

    You could be spot-on with this information buddy however. Because this is classed as a beginner drone because of the way it flies, and lets be honest anybody and their child could fly this thing, they could have done this for safety reasons because even though a beginner could fly it, not all beginners understand charges, and as you are well aware if you don't use your charger properly there can be a big bang. So I would like to think DJ I have done this for safety.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Рік тому +2

      The safety argument does not really hold water as the charger is still in the battery. You literally can’t damage these with the wrong charger as it won’t let you. The adapter simply supplies constant voltage and current. Go out side of what DJI allow and it will shut down anyways. This is why there has been no issues in the past.

    • @robert_g_fbg
      @robert_g_fbg Рік тому +4

      It appears more likely to be the legal department that touts "for safety". DJI don't want to be sued when a 3rd party charger made the toy go boom.
