    More blades are always going to be higher pitched, louder, and usually more inefficient due to their weight and rotating mass. The tradeoff of going to less blades is usually a quieter, lower pitched sound with more efficiency, but the tradeoff is less precise handling, especially more noticeable in larger diameter propellers.

    I just flew the three blade props this past weekend, I noticed it had crazy amounts of prop wash if I descended into its own "dirty" air. It didn't just have jello. It was like flying through jello. I think there's just way too much surface area on them for the motors and pid loop to keep up with. They ARE fast and fun, but I wouldn't depend on them for reliable footage. I love their sound too. I had to remove my 3d printed bumper to use them because their tolerances are so tight.

    I might have to invest in those 3 blade props for my AVATA, the extra speed is the big selling point for me. I might also buy the 4 blade props too, just to see whether it gives more stability. Good video that shows that the props can make a difference, and in particular those 3 blades definitely seem to add some speed.

    Well, this is great to know. Have watched at least four of your videos on the Avata. Have the Mini 3, and Mini 4 Pro, was considering the chance of switching drones from the Mini 4 and get an Azata, but the noise would certainly be a game changer. No longer find that I have that kind of need for it. Thanks for helping with my choice. Will stick to my 3 and 4 Pro as I love the quieter and much longer battery life. Don’t have the time for those higher speed crones. Great post! Thanks!

    Im no drone expert. As a matter of fact il be receiving my first ever drone in a week, the avata. With that said i am experienced with home ceiling fans. I have changed many 5 blade ceiling fans all the way up to the 50's inch lenght. I also install 3 blade fans with significantly shorter but wider blades. Guess what? The smaller 3 blade fans always put out significantly more air and generate a lot less noise. Looking forward to flying this avata drone

      @ridestolenbmx100 9 місяців тому

      @@synapticstudioit makes the drone compatible with 3.5” props rather than 2.9” stock.
      It’s very involved, you take the whole drone apart to do it, along with soldering the motor, and if you do motors at the same time (highly recommended, borderline required for the buffer props. It adds a lot of carbon fiber, and makes the drone much much stronger, less likely to break during a crash. Don’t quote me, but I believe it’s lighter too.
      The mod is 60 dollars, and the motors are 80$, 20$ a piece. (axis c157, or c157-2. 3650kv, and 3750kv respectively, pick whichever kv that fits your flying style.)
      If you fly in manual mode, it fixes tumble, makes it both much quicker and much faster, along with much more responsive and better handling.
      If you only fly in Normal/Sport, you’ll get no benefit. Maybe a very slight bump in top speed, and a little better acceleration forward, and up, but not worth the price *AT* *ALL*
      So there’s a very long and thorough answer lol, I hope that novel helps you out, although I’m sure you’ve made the decision already, considering your comment is 5 months old 😂😂

    The 3-bladed props were pretty good. 10kph extra speed is great for chaseflights and the noise was a bit lower in pitch, making it easier on the ears. One of the few reasons i wont be getting an Avata is that yaw washout problem. Too bad the props did not fix that.

      I made a mistake and took off my goggles during landing ,forgetting to put the avata into normal mode as I usually do, and it crashed cracking one of the engine arms. Sent it to dji to get fixed and they informed me that part of the issue was the module they said and they said they changed it and cut the repair cost by half as I was at fault too.
      Anyways when I got my drone back? Lo and behold it was a new drone in a new package and it doesn't have that wash issue.
      So it looks like it's some fault they can't fix if you send your avatar in they just change to the new models that don't have the issue.

    The camera angle will make your drone fly faster in Manual! If you are flying around 25-30 degrees it wont get the max speed it can achieve. If you fly it in Manuel at 50-58 degrees i believe is where it max out, then you'll be able to fly it at its top speed. Maybe try different camera angles.

    BLADES:
    5 = Highest pitch, a little louder
    4 = Pitch a little lower, a little quieter than 5
    3 = Barely lower pitch, and a little quieter than 4, and Faster than 4 blades = 54 mph according to your measurements.
    I want the lowest pitch possible in any drone I would have. I'm sure that not all props are going to be relatively the same ratio of # blades to pitch and other factors? Are they?
    Question for you: Without the Props installed, is there much noise level to the motors themselves or are they very quiet due to being brushless?

      The problem with the avata is, that the props are too small for it's weight! So 3.5" and right sized motors are the solution.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Рік тому +2

      DJI makes GPS drones that are ready to fly out of the box and all designed for beginners. The only other companies comparable to DJI for ready to fly beginner drones would be Autel. Companies like Yuneec also make their Typhoon beginner drone. Hubsan and Fimi, EXO & Faith drones are not as good as DJI but their prices are really good for what you get. After this you drop down into entry level drones from MJX RC and Holy Stone.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      Also it sounds like you are confusing beginner ready to fly drones with the Advanced FPV hobby. The advanced FPV hobby has 3 types of Digital. You have DJI Digital, then HD Zero Digital then Walksnail Digital. In the pro advanced FPV hobby there is no such thing as a beginner ready to fly digital kit. However there are ready to fly Analog kits that allow a pilot to practice flying for a few months before moving up to a large carbon fiber drone. BetaFPV Cetus Pro is one such kit.
