A brilliant book, amazing, the thing we all do for a third of our lives, yet, most of us know little to nothing about it. His book addresses that. The book is technical and scientific but it's so well written it's easilly accessable and absolutely fascinating. Although it's not one of those "tiresome" self-help books, yet, for me this book has proven life changing, I will be paying a lot more attention to my sleeping habits from now on.

Where can I get a transcrainial direct current brain stimulation device? I have a sleep disorder (delayed sleep phase syndrome) and simple insomnia; it takes three prescription meds to get me to sleep. I know Walker is against this, although I have not finished his book yet. But honestly, my life has been improved by prescription sleep medication. Getting 7-9 hours of sleep most nights instead of going months on 2-5 hours per night has been life-changing. Still, if there's something that could let me sleep without the medication I would be willing to pay for it.

Wow, is this his 187th variation of a "Sleep" video? They must be very profitable here at UA-cam.

    Matthew,
If I only slept one night in 4 weeks time, what would I remember about who I am and who you are? If I stole that one night and you didn't know because you fell asleep and I promised I would not, and it changed the data of your experiment what would you then conclude? If you were only able to stop me from deep sleep (REM cycle II) would it then change your data? If memory were not actually stored in the hippocampus would that then change your entire research project? What if I told you I have all the answers you are looking for. Would you let me out of your experiment?
    Bell

you wouldn't be able to sleep deprive yourself so much you'd be having hallucinations and the only thing that would prevent you from falling asleep would probably be either torture or an adrenaline injection
You can't force yourself to not sleep for such a long time

Do you really think you will get an answer from this speaker in the comment section of an over two year old video which probably got pirated from some other channel?
Don't be cheap. Go see a doctor.

How about, instead of this non-applicable study, let's study 2 groups. 1 group studies the same material all night long. the other studies it for 1 hour and then sleeps all night. Who knows the material better in the morning?
I think we all know the answer...

how about you don't watch youtube videos and then cram for one hour or pull an all nighter and learn in the afternoon like a normal person?
