Just a Helpful tip. I use to work in a mattress building company back when beds were made with ginned cotton. We also made custom mattresses out of foam. The quick and easy way to cut a bed like this for DIYers is with an old fashion handsaw.
This is great. I'm over 6 foot tall so I would have to have the mattress the other direction but I'm still following all these videos because a 6 by 10 trailer is about as big as I would ever want to go. This is definitely my idea for the bed as well but I would just have to turn it the other direction 🤔
Thanks so much for watching!!! If your over 6ft tall, I would definitely recommend putting the bed in the other direction. If your not comfortable and don't get a good nights sleep, you won't wont to use it.
Nice Job.... I am in the process of converting an 8x16 v-nose cargo trailer into an RV and Mobile Sign Shop. I am just starting the walls and cabinet construction. I just sold a 15-passenger shuttle bus that I lived in for 3 years and traveled out west during the winters. I had to sell the shuttle bus because I purchased a large format color printer to make contour cut decals/stickers, koozies, t-shirts, magnetics, banners, mousepads, etc. The large format color printer would have taken up a lot of storage space so I needed to get something bigger. I did a complete conversion series on the shuttle bus from the ground up and now am doing a new series on the cargo trailer conversion. They are on my YT channel.
This bed project looks very simple and practical. But I gotta say, I would have liked to see a couple of people laying down in the bed once it was finished. I can’t help thinking it looks like the tall fella would have to fold up a little to fit. :) Thanks for sharing tho. We just bought a 7 x 14 V nose and we are studying other designs to decide how we want to build a bed.
Actually it was bought at Sams club by grandparents that never used it and passed it down. I think it is the Sealy memory foam mattress that is around $300-$400. Thee kids said it works great and is very comfortable. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Actually, they are modifying the bed to have a section that adds in lengthwise. They thought it would work, but it’s just a little tight. He is 6’0 and she is 5’8”. Thanks so much for reaching out, and for watching!!!

A real advantage to building your own is you can make it as comfortable as you want. Nice video.

We always have a lot of bloopers to choose from... LOL
Happy travels
Thank you and thank you for watching!!! Happy travels to you as well!!!
Love the etrack idea, that way I can make easily removable framing.. to convert it back and forth from camper to cargo if needed.
Exactly! Etrack is a really cool way to make things convertible. I wish I invented it LOL... Thanks so much for watching!!!

At 6'0" (person) it is about 2 inches short, but if you lay a little diagonal it's no big deal. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Your whole series has really helped me with my 14’ conversion! Thank you so much for all these videos!
So glad we can help!!! Thanks so much for watching!!!
Guys, can ya'll provide the link to the foam mattress you bought and comment on how it slept and worked for the kids?

I can't remember the name, but it was from Sam's Club. Thanks for watching!!!
Let us know how the 2 door does with towing this. It looks great!
It does great. We will have a video about towing. Thanks for watching!!!
@befreebensondiy did they end up liking the bed installed in that direction? How tall are they?
Actually, they are modifying the bed to have a section that adds in lengthwise. They thought it would work, but it’s just a little tight. He is 6’0 and she is 5’8”. Thanks so much for reaching out, and for watching!!!
I was afraid of that! I also have a 6 foot wide trailer, but I’m only 5’5”. I still might try and make it work though.
Looks great! What material are the walls finished with?
👍
Thanks for watching!!!
What's the headroom above the mattress?
It's a very thick mattress. I'm 6'0" and can sit up with about a 1/2 inch of clearance to the ceiling. Thanks for watching!!!
