Hi! Thank you very much, I really enjoy living in my tiny house. It feels very empowering knowing you built it and can fix anything inside that may break. Cheers
Your sense of humor is my favorite kind. :D I just love when people can laugh at little at themselves. I loved this video! Awesome conversion! I'd love to do my own someday. I'm glad you did have some videos after all that you could share. Looking forward to more! I'd love to see one where you go kayaking. Cheers!
Thank you for all the kind words! Building your own little place is fantastic because it is customized to you! There is a special little Island I like to paddle out to at a nearby lake and spend the day....I will have to share that! Cheers!
Wow, your home is gorgeous! I love your design, the cabinets, Murphy bed, kitchen layout- everything is really well thought out. You have a nice piece of land too. ❤️
Wow you did a fantastic job. It has everything you need to be comfortable. I have been watching cargo trailer conversions for months. I so want to buy a cargo trailer and convert it to my tiny home. I am glad i found your channel.
Well thank you so much! In the next year or two I plan on building a new one and this time I will document the experience on the channel. I have plenty of projects on the current trailer to get done like refreshing the cabinets etc so a new video every week! Cheers
Thanks a bunch! Learning to build your own little house provides such a sense of accomplishment. And you know that anything that may break you can fix since you built it! Cheers
I have a 6 b y 12 too - but with out the V front- so I have a bit less space. Mine is currently a "no build" build using L track to elevate my bed, and rachett straps and floor and wall rings to hold my metal shelving units in place. Still trying to figure out how to rig up my bed to raise and lower it with pulleys. I have only spent 5 days max staying in it so far, while traveling. Thanks for all of the ideas.
HI! I'm glad you got some ideas and inspiration out of the tour. It is so fun and rewarding to build something yourself - you have that dang, I did that feeling! Go look online at Toy Hauler Trailers that have those beds in the back that raise and lower and see if you can get some ideas from how they engineer the pully system and incorporate that into your build. Summer is around the corner; I hope you have great travels in your little rig! Cheers
Videos like this are what convinced me to build my own little house. This guy is very creative and funny with his build. Not sure you could figure that as a fire exscape. With a few square feet of anything that might start burning, do you really think your gonna have time to remove cover and undo 3 locks and the door latch? The shower is incredible!!! A little overkill. LOL
Thanks.....I love my little kitchen....it was very important to me I could cook all meals from scratch and had to have the counter space for that! This Wednesday I have a video about how I fit a month and a half of meat and other groceries in my little shoe box! I live in the mountains far from the grocery, so you have to be self-sufficient!
Hi and thanks! Super cheap to run! I use very little propane and my electric bill is about $28 in the summer and $50 in the winter because I use the clothes dryer a lot. Cheers
WOW amazing job, imagine what you can do if you know about remodeling. Best cargo makeover I've ever seen. And the way you explained everything is very entertaining and humble. The whole place is very pretty. Congratulations and Blessings 🙏🏼
i like it myself.. pretty cozy if you ask me.. well done! I see potential having maybe a longer counter panel table .. just right behind along the bottom length of your bed.. that can be fold up or fold down... i'd say maybe half size of the table what you got there.. now you have more room to walk trough.. and more folding stools to add maybe 2 to 3 .. more counter space to work on laptop? ☺ ☺
One option although sometimes kinda expensive is a convection microwave. Functions as both a microwave and small oven. Looks like you got it covered with the small oven but I like the space saving of the dual use microwave oven.
Thank you! I had a 27-foot Travel Trailer before this but when it started to break and I tore it apart I thought, Oh Dang, I could do better than this! Cheers
I think you are so clever! It is amazing how you figured it all out to live like you do! I would love to do as you did! Have you estimated how much you spent in building your TH? I know it has been 6 years & costs have skyrocketed, but it would be interesting to do a video on discussing that. I am subscribing because I love your thought processes in living simply-thanks!
Thank you for the comment, much appreciated! I purchased the trailer new for $2700 and spent between $4000 and $5000 building it. For the most part it was time invested because I built every thing myself....every cabinet door....the counter tops etc. I had never built anything before this project so big learning curve! Cheers
Thank you very much! I love my house and learned a lot about myself and just what we can do when we put our minds to it. I never built a anything before this rig. Cheers
You can probably get a proper reclining chair that when it's in reclining position would fit under your Murphy bed also, might be little more comfortable, love the build and the lifestyle, my only question is, do you ever regret not getting the 7 foot or 8 foot wide trailer??
Hello! I do have a zero gravity chair and a cushion that is the full size from Amazon that I can drag in if I want to recline so great point indeed! I do not regret getting the 6x12 even a little. It was meant to mimic the size of a Sprinter van so I could see if I could live in that space. Now I don't want a van after almost six years doing this because I don't want my house to have an engine that can break and then I am SOL with no house! Next year or so I will do a new build and it will be 7x14 to accommodate the systems I want to be completely off grid. Cheers
How much do you think your trailer weighs, and do you pull it with your Jeep? I have a brand new 6x12 cargo trailer and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. I am just curious, sir. Beautifully done, by the way. Following.
Hi! For sure you have enough vehicle to tow your 6x12 trailer. My trailer weighs about 3000 pounds. And that is when it is loaded with all my crap! The trailer was 1300 pounds new and when I was done building it it weighed approx 1800 pounds. Then you add water and fill the propane tanks, add groceries, and your stuff blah blah, and you quickly get to the 3000 pound max weight for this single axle trailer. If yours has two axles, you can double the cargo capacity. Mine as a single axle has 1618 pounds of cargo capacity. Since I treat this as a tiny home I don't drag it around to camp etc....but yes....my little jeep is equipped for towing this trailer if I need to. Just not the best setup and I have to remove some stuff to meet my legal tow weight. We have forest fires in my area, so I wouldn't hesitate to load it up at full weight and get the hell out if I needed to.....just sayin! Cheers
@@1man_caravan I have a 6x12 cargo trailer that is a no-build build. If I could ever find a good video software editing program, then I could post my trailer build
Hello, it is a WaterDrop brand (much more affordable) you can find on Amazon. It has its own filters like Berkey or you can put Berkey brand filters in it. Cheers
Nice job👏w/lots of good ideas🤔& like how you didn't waste space on a fixed bed😴 ?Curiosity question: why did you choose the 6x12 instead of a 7x or 8x?
Thank you! This all started out as an experiment because I wanted a Sprinter Van but was not sure if I could live in that small of a space. This trailer new listed for $3100 empty in 2018 and matched the dimensions of the back of the Sprinter. Much cheaper way to explore if I could do this then getting a van! Turns out I love it and almost in here for six years now. I don't want a van any longer because engines break and I don't want my house in the shop! I will do another build in the future but most likely 7x14. Cheers
Hi Aaron, Do you wish you had gotten a 7' wide instead?? Im wanting to get and build a 7x14 single axle! Mine will be a camper, 'bedroom or cabin on wheels' to visit various campgrounds in my getaways with friends.
Hello Christopher! So.....as far as space goes.....I am good with the 6' wide.....but....I live full time in the space including cold winters with some snow and what I have learned is that the 6' is not wide enough for proper wall insulation where the plywood wall attaches to the metal wall studs. I have 1/4 inch plywood walls that screw into the metal studs. There is 1" Rmax Thermasheath rigid insulation (R6 value) in the walls that fits into the cavities the metal wall studs accommodate. The problem is that the metal studs radiate heat/cold easily through the wall where it touches the metal stud. The metal screws attaching the plywood will radiate cold/heat directly into the interior and will sweat moisture in the cold. My ceiling has 1" thick wood beams I attached to the 1" metal beams the trailer came with and 2" rigid insulation.....the ceiling board is screwed into that wood beam, eliminating all that thermal transfer. I will get a 7' wide trailer in my next build to accommodate a 2" wall build like my ceiling has and still be able to fit all the stuff in between those walls I have now! Cheers, Aaron
My Son is about to graduate High School and I was contemplating doing this same thing. I want to Rent my home for a few years , double payment the mortgage and do some traveling as I work remote. I wanted to inquire if you could do a rebuild again do you think you might decide that an 8.5x16 would be amore ideal foot print for a build out. Appreciate what your thoughts are.
Hi there. I think the width really depends on what you want inside of the rig. If you want a queen size bed that is stationary and the ability to walk around both sides you have to be in an 8'. I have gotten so use to being in this tiny space that it really works well for me. That said, my next build will be a double axle for more weight carrying ability (more water and waste storage) and 7x14 to fit the layout and systems I think would be ideal for me in the rig including minimum 2" walls for more insulation. Currently my walls are 1" with rigid insulation and that works quite well but I would prefer 2". I plan on doing a lot more exploring and boondocking with the next build so it will have to be off grid capable for a week or longer. Cheers!
My next build will be a 7x14....just sayin! This has been a great experience and I have learned a bunch living in this little castle for six years that I will put into the new one in the next year or so! Cheers
Thanks MissKim. I try to do one video a week. Got work as well and these little guys take a hot minute to make. I have some camping trips coming up and I shall cook in those for sure. Cheers

Look up ... Brian Swezey... on UA-cam.... he did a 7×14 v - nose like a log cabin inside. This conversion is also real nice.
You should have gotten the upgraded version without all the rivets on the side. And it's thicker metal, for like $200 more.
