Agreed. The movies know when to reign in the comedy and focus on building dramatic tension, and I love the balance they strike. Perfect tone.

@@anonymousnobody326 It felt like it was written by 2011 Smosh where they kept having ridiculous bits or making fun of tv tropes while also using those tropes and trying to take itself seriously at the same time. The tone just made no sense throughout, and the self-awareness stuff got really old after the first few episodes.

I wouldn't worry about. The director of the movies was only involved with the first episode, and it had a completely different set of writers with no affiliation with the movies.
The main issue that people have with these types of video game movies is the new human characters getting most of the screen time. And that's exactly what this show did...
my vision on the show is:
ep.1-3: knuckles with wade.
ep 4-6: wade show with a tiny little bit of knuckles.
And it’s good
Knuckles series, and it was alright. The only thing I have a problem with the show is that it mainly shows too many humans in the show, and Knuckles is just on the side lines in his OWN SHOW, but overall, cool show.

Ngl, the show was quite a dissapoitment. Was hoping for some neat Knuckles backstory, hell I wouldn't mind if the entire show was settled IN Knuckles' past, would've been way cooler then the Wade Willson show we've gotten.

My main problem is not a lack of Knuckles, but rather that there are too many human characters, and most of them are awful.
They could've narrowed it down to Wade and Knuckles eating grape burgers and going on dumb adventures while fighting the three main G.U.N. villains. No annoying family and no lame bowling subplot, and you have time to fully flesh out all the characters.
Basically a sort of redo of the first Sonic movie, which I really enjoyed because of the dynamic between Tom and Sonic. If they'd kept the tone of the first two episodes, it would have turned out pretty fun.
I know some people wanted to see the Chaotix and Rouge, but I think that's more suited to a fully animated show in the same style as Prime or X.
If they do more spin-off shows, I hope they get Jeff Fowler to fully direct them or another more capable director.
Honestly I wasn’t expecting too much out of this show, but it was a fun watch nonetheless. Now I’m curious if Paramount will make a Tails series as well.

The reason why there wasn't more knuckles, was that they were probably saving their budget on the action scenes with knuckles in them.

It Feels like this show was only made because of the popularity of Sonic 2 movie they saw the hype around knuckles and just greenlit a show but without realizing how much it would actually cost to cgi knuckles from a movie budget to TV show budget I think it's a fun decent show but just made because they announced something too early without any plans I hope sonic 3 is good

Sonic Prime actually does Sonic justice and the CGI's are top tier. if prime was sonic movie 1 & 2 i think Sonic would of been bigger than what it is. there are episodes that I will rewatch over knuckles tv. sonic movie should of never been an idea. bad creativity from the start. terrible production and lazy script writing.

LMAO at these comments. We got one semi-descent game and now fans suddenly forget that most of the Sonic stuff released in the last few decades is of mediocre or disappointing quality. This show being bad does not surprise me at all. They're basically milking the sudden recent success with a bunch of half baked projects.
Even the movies were of barely bearable quality, and this show is lower than that. Before defending it and coming at my throat, just admit one thing, this movie universe is clearly not the one we as fans wanted, but the one we have no choice but to tolerate. The fact people have to defend it at all says everything.
They had an easy task of shitting out a few formulaic "cartoon character in real world" stories and somehow they drop the ball even when the bar is literally on the ground. Meh.

I don’t think it’s awful I found it enjoyable, but there is some criticisms that are valid…personally I think this is like a 6.1 out of 10
This show isn’t bad imo, I get what they were going for narratively. I like the dynamic between Knuckles and Wade, I like how they dual each other in goals. For example, what does Wade want? He wants to be a warrior, who can teach him that? Knuckles! What is Knuckles looking for? Knuckles is looking for a home(which I think the show could’ve put more emphasis on) who has a home? Wade has a home! Knuckles feels lost because he finished his goal, he gets a new goal to train Wade and through that Knuckles also gets what he wants. The show focusing on Wade which I understand can be annoying, ultimately shows Knuckles succeeding his new goal which imo is good writing.

It was like watching a shitty Comedy Sitcom. It's called Knuckles but he isn't in it very much and instead it focuses on boring human characters nobody or most people don't care about.
I'll say up-front that I did not watch this show and I'm not very jazzed by the current movies (but 2 is a huge improvement over 1), but a friend gave me a Devil's Advocate for this show, if anyone wants it.
It's true that the show is about Wade, but Knuckles is the central figure that gives everyone motivation. In the case of the villains, they went into action to get his power. For Wade, Knuckles' example and life story pushed Wade into being a better person even when Knux wasn't on-screen. As goofy as the play is, it's also still about Knuckles and forces Wade to see life from his perspective, so Knux is still central to the show. It's like Chris' relationship with Sonic in X, but more comical and not sending Knuckles away in the end.
That's better than my initial thought that Paramount just doesn't trust the Sonic characters and is overly pleased with their humans, but this is still not the direction I would have gone in. I'm not a big fan of the movies' humor yet and I wouldn't make a show about a CG character if the budget couldn't accomodate him. The short about Team Sonic and the junkyard robot and what I'm hearing about Movie 3, however, are promising even to a jaded person like me.
I thought it was completely okay as a show in general, but really sucked as a supposed “Knuckles” show, the first two episodes made me hopeful because I wasn’t even against the premise of a comedic buddy cop thing between Knuckles and Wade, the problem was that they put the bigger focus on the wrong character and heavily shafted the titular character
my biggest compliment that I’ve said on another video is that I liked the Jessie and James-like dynamic of the two ex-GUN agents
also, I have to agree with your theory about this just being a scheme to get people to buy a Paramount+ subscription because it’s an absolutely nothing service, with as far as I know only having one other original series being the awful Halo show

Ended up watching it on 1.5 speed cause I realized it wasn’t going anywhere. Some of the comedy was alright. Knuckles was done decently well but I hate that he comes off simple. Yes he’s the brawny one of the crew but sheesh can he have better character work? Wade’s sister is absolutely horrendous in this. In fact, everyone was just a complete buffoon in this. I get it’s suppose to be light hearted but ffs it has nothing gripping or serious. This is a definitely a cash grab spin off. I hope it does well so we can get more potentially better shows in the future but hopefully with a different tone and a much better story.
The show was marketed that Knuckles is trying to get used to his new life in Green Hills.
But when I heard he's 25% in HIS OWN SHOW, thats when I decided to not watch it. And I was gonna get Paramount +... oh well

Episode 4 was your least favorite?? Your opinion, but that was my personal favorite one! The music was good, the visual gags were hilarious (Random puppet and the gliding costume are examples), and revealing that Knuckles had previously defeated Iblis in the movie timeline was interesting.
From reading the episode title before the show released, I was slightly hoping for the plot to involve the villains trying to awaken Iblis, even though that would be a little unusual since they haven't done the Sonic Adventure 1&2 plots yet. Despite that, it was a fun cameo.

Unpopular opinion but honestly aside from the final episode episode 4 was probably my favorite episode. It was honestly really funny and was just absolutely insane. People only dislike that episode because it doesn’t have knuckles in it not because of what it actually has. Another unpopular opinion this show’s jokes honesty hits harder then both of the Sonic movies (not saying they aren’t funny)

I’ll never understand the Sonic Prime hate in these comments. Best interpretation of Shadow we’ve gotten since ‘06 and anytime sonic fought with him or they were on screen together was amazing. As for the knuckles show haven’t seen it yet but definitely gonna form my own opinion after I’ve seen it. As a majority of people hated Prime as well yet I ended up loving it.
same here, i've only seen Prime, the first season of Boom, Knuckles and 10 episodes of X and from what i've seen Prime shits on the rest, Knuckles is good but don't expect Knuckles to be the main character

i like humans characters in movies yet I somehow baffled with this series. We had so many good characters that needed to be brought back like ratchell's family or citizens of green hill like Crazy Carl.

At first when i first heard the Announcement of the Knuckles I thought It was gonna be like About Knuckles and him Vsiting thw Chaotix Detectives Like Victor, Espio and Charmy It woulda been cool if they went that route and Went for a knuckles Backstory without Wade trying to Do the Backstory for him in a Feever Dream Trying to find flames of disaster Which Made No sense at all how can wade even find the flames of disaster I think Paramount needa Start working on their Scheduel of Human Characters and the Alien Characters

I wouldn’t say the show was awful. I actually really liked the first 3 episodes. And then I got to episode 4, realized I’m not having a nightmare and am actually still watching the knuckles show, and then was bored to tears with the final 2 episodes. I don’t know how the quality dropped so hard after a great first half.

I’m someone that enjoy the show but it definitely has a few problems. The two main problems I had with the show is the time you get to the 4th episode this where the show becomes a Wade show not Knuckles. My second problem with this show is Wanda because she is so annoying in the show but she can funny some times. Overall, I give the show a 8/10.

While I didn’t really LOVE Wabe just taking over in the middle of the series I can see why it would turn out that way. This was a tv show and for what I know doing all the CGI work will get expensive - shifting to a Wade focus would save money in a show that already putted so much money in the fight scenes and other CGI stuff. Overall, I thought it was a pretty ok, even good show. However, the Wade shift was jarring and quite unfortunate for it was Knuckles’s show and I was looking forward to looking into HIM. I’d rate 6.5/10
I really feel like they should've had more character development for Knuckles rather than Wade.
Wade's sister seemed to have little reason or explanation on why she's so rude and aggressive towards Wade.
I would have been satisfied if her reasoning was "She takes her anger out on him because her father left." or something.
But what I got from her character is she just wants to 1-up Wade just to look superior and cool.
As for Wade, to me he just seems like too much of a goofball for me to enjoy properly.
there is some good moments I enjoyed such as the little musical he did, and the fact that he interrupts the song to punch the bars.
but after the 4th and 5th "Clumsy/Oopsie", it just gets too stale for me in my opinion.

and I found Wade's Motivations and Reasoning to be just unrealistic? I understand its meant for general audiences but it could've been better.
for Knuckles, I feel like he was very much underused for a show that literally has "Knuckles" in it.
He experience little character development and gets tossed to the side as a side character for the other half of the show.
I did enjoy the OVA hat he got, and the little bits of rap music as he rode on a motorcycle.
all n' all, It could've been better if the show focused on the Sonic characters more rather than the humans, I'm pretty sure 90% of the people watching this show was for Knuckles. But of course they love making references and decided to make this an & Knuckles TV Show.

I think episode 4 is really the microcosm for the entire show. It barely has Knuckles in it and is more focused on telling jokes with the human characters. If you don’t like the type of humour it’s going for, you’re not going to like it.
Personally, I actually enjoyed the show. I think Knuckles should have had the focus more (the series is named after him) but I enjoyed how silly and stupid the show was for the most part (I personally loved the musical number for how out of left field and dumb it was. But they should have actually showed Knuckles journey in a previous episode) There are some characters I thought should have been kept to one episode (Wades sister is one of the most infuriating characters in the entire franchise) and there are other problems, but for what we got, I overall enjoyed it. But I can completely understand why people didn’t like it.
Dude the show is hilarious wtf are you talking about? I was literally dying during just the first episode. Like when Knuckles kicked the radio and destroyed it and especially when he absolutely obliterated the bowling pins into millions of pieces with that throw of his lol. That shit was funny.

@@SFproductions1You’re right. The third one is ok but after that it all goes downhill. I knew things were gonna tank once Wade reunited with his psycho sister and his mother. The fourth episode was by far the worst. And Knuckles got less and less screen time with each subsequent episode…

Well the show is half good to me , they could have called Knuckles and Wade show maybe people won't be as upset to the show , I actually don't mind Wade , I rather see them do something meaningful with him

Personally, Wade was awsome , hell I actually prefer him over knuckles .
But at the end of the day , its what the viewer thinks , preference is subjective , but the "waaa too much homo sapiens not enough dopamine red cgi" thing is kinda dumb , like , its not the end of the entire observable universe if a single episode doesnt have the main character , ep four was awsome .
One thing i didnt like and that u were right about was how Wade's sude plots didnt contribute to the main storyline, if the human side quests became more important and impactful , the show would be 10x better

This show should have been Knuckles getting hunted by gun secretly because he was using his power to much and not fitting in so in the finale knuckles fits in more and we have set up gun for Sonic 3

The funny thing is that focusing on humans somwtimes isn't in it of itself a problem. I'd actual be interested in maybe two episodes about Tom and his work as a police officer, provided the plot of that still built up on Sonic's world in a good way. The problem is that Wade is just... not a good character to focus on.
