Had this issue with voice memos - as I was deleting them the occupied space doubled - I changed the date as you mentioned, and from 10GB become 4.2GB - but I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling because I cannot afford to lose4gb when where are 0 files. Thanks for the suggestion

This didn't work for me. I set the time back eight years and restarted my phone, and it's exactly the same. Mine looked a little different from yours because it specifically recommends "Save 81 (!) GB of space: Empty Recently Deleted Album" but whenever I empty it, it just comes back. My Recently Deleted album IS empty when you actually look at it, but it pops back in the storage section over and over again as taking up huge amounts of space. iCloud is turned OFF and I've never ever used it. I am running out of space and it's space that's filled with NOTHING. So what can I do? The time thing just didn't work.

this is for those of you who still didn’t get results after doing this so my iphone photo storage became 32gb then i did what was shown in the video! it did clear out but the storage space remained 12gb then i plugged my iphone into my windows(idk whether it’s gonna work for macs but you can try) and then created a folder over a drive (works even if you’ve created it on desktop) then copied all my data into that file and then plug out! you’ll see your iphone storage refreshing!! and goes back to the actual storage! btw it worked for me you can try it out!.. not guaranteed! but it worked for me 2 times nw! also plz delete your recent deleted files in your iphone first
Worked for me! Thank you very much! What I did: Connect my iPhone XR to my Windows laptop and copied my DCIM folders to my desktop. Halfway copying the files to my desktop, my cable was malfunctioning and it stopped the process. So, I went ahead and checked my Photos storage at Settings. It went from 56+GB (bug error display) to 14GB, which is the actual amount of storage I have on my iPhone right now. Thank you!
That didn’t work for me but I found another option to fix it. I disabled the “iCloud Photo Library” from the Photos & Camera Settings then the Storage just went free. I hope this helps
Brother Xoli If it didn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean it’s bullshit. Try going to icloud, photos and turn off icloud photos (this will delete all your photos so if you want to keep them, back them up onto ur pc and after turning off icloud photos restore them.)

I know I’m late but I just had this problem. So this video didn’t work for me, so if it didn’t this might be how to fix it. Sooo mines is mostly taken up by photos. I realized I had a lot of photos so I deleted them, but then it would still say “you have ____ photos.” Even though I had less. I restarted my phone and everything, but it didn’t work. Then I went to my deleted photos which had over 8,000 photos. So what I did was, I deleted them all completely then restarted my phone. It still didn’t work. Then I took a screenshot and went to the recently deleted album and there was only the screenshot, which then I deleted. Now when I check settings my storage is good. I hope this helps! :)
@@kahlonnfn no sadly I had to buy more iCloud storage so it’s that iCloud+ thing and had to wait a whole day to have it sync to it and that cleared it it brought it down to 368MB…I have an iPhone14 so I don’t think this method works with it because the recent deleted album was locked and didn’t let me put in the passcode

Awesome video. Changing dates alone didn't work for me as my issue was not with photos but with Files App showing 8GB when it was empty and Voice Memo taking 1.04GB when it was also empty. While my date was June 16 2016 I went back into Setting>>General>>iPhone Storage and deleted the offending app Voice Memo and Files App and immediately got my 9GB space back. Put back date to today, restarted the phone, installed Voice Memos and Files App back. All Good!! Thank You Thank You. BTW I had tried all this with current date with no success, so I know the date thing helped. Had been at it for about 3 weeks now.

I been having issues due to storage such as not able to take photos/videos, calls/text not coming through, apps invisible(but still there), FB messenger, lots of glitches! So November 30, 2023 I decided to try these steps on my 13pro(128GB) and at first I didn’t think it worked so I went back to present time then went forward to 2027. Hrs later my storage started picking up and STILL CONTINUING days later !! Today is Dec. 4th and I’m at 54.5GB from 127.9GB!!!! All my pictures are back and my phone is doing GREAT and I didn’t have to take a dreadful trip to Apple store!! Thanks SOOOO MUCH!!

That didn’t work for me but I found another option to fix it. I disabled the “iCloud Photo Library” from the Photos & Camera Settings then the Storage just went free. I hope this helps

Brother Xoli If it didn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean it’s bullshit. Try going to icloud, photos and turn off icloud photos (this will delete all your photos so if you want to keep them, back them up onto ur pc and after turning off icloud photos restore them.)

you can delete in batches like 500 photos at a time or less and then wait for 10-15 seconds for it to be finally gone

My phone was on 15.9gb of 16gb and this method in the vid didn't work (I tried it 5 times) then I went on photos turned off Icloud and everything else then It went 9.3gb of 16gb btw I am on *IPhone 5s (IOS12)*

My photos went from 40 to 90 gb after I updated from iOS 15. something to 16.6 and now its not changing back even after the rebooting and stuff😞😞😞😞☹️☹️
Doing the date and time just made it so I couldn't use youtube cause it started working as soon a I change it back

This is ridiculous! 94 gb of space taken up in my photo storage but not a simple photo on my phone. Message deleted, deleted folder deleted and my storage is still reading 94 gb of photos! 😡
I been having issues due to storage such as not able to take photos/videos, calls/text not coming through, apps invisible(but still there), FB messenger, lots of glitches!
So November 30, 2023 I decided to try these steps on my 13pro(128GB) and at first I didn’t think it worked so I went back to present time then went forward to 2027.
Hrs later my storage started picking up and STILL CONTINUING days later !! Today is Dec. 4th and I’m at 54.5GB from 127.9GB!!!!
All my pictures are back and my phone is doing GREAT and I didn’t have to take a dreadful trip to Apple store!!

I was just yk casually looking at my iPhone storage bearing in mind I have 64gb . It was on 50.8gb and I was like , ahh it’s fine . Look back at my and it changed to 53gb in one second. I am getting really annoyed at the system data because it has taken half of my storage 😭
